@Imhereforthecake and @HWka so happy your scans are fine, I keep having small bleeds too so can relate how unsettling it is!
Did they diagnose you with sub-chorionic Hematoma ? Supposedly a normal bleed during pregnancy x

InvisibleDragon · 05/11/2021 23:32

Hey everyone, made a post way way back on the first thread when I just found out I was pregnant.

Now 8 weeks, which feels surreal. Just wanted to pop in and say hi - it feels nice that there's such a supportive thread, even though I'm a very quiet 'contributor'.

Willow1981 · 05/11/2021 23:41

Had my booking in today and got my first maternity clothes delivered.
Actually starting to feel real now.

I said to the MW, it's odd that no one tests to confirm the POAS was right.
She replied that lots of women say that, and she kinda assumes that we have all peed on more than 1 stick! So true.
I stopped at 4. In my defence, 2nd one was negative so 3rd was required. 4th was coz it was left in the pack and what else would I do with it?!

MadamMaltesers · 06/11/2021 05:59

Is it normal to feel at deaths door at 7+5? no nausea or vomitting just a massive headache and my calves are aching. I also feel extremely lightheaded it i stand or sit up.

InvisibleDragon · 06/11/2021 07:23

MadamMalteasers

I felt really grim for most of weeks 6 and 7. Utterly exhausted, headache mornings and evenings, nauseous all day, plus emotional, constipated and with horribly sore breasts. I was utterly dreading weeks and weeks more of it.

For the last couple of days (8 weeks now) I've been feeling somewhat better. Have slightly more "classic" morning sickness but don't feel so bad for the whole day. I think drinking loads of water (hot decaf tea if cold water seems revolting) and eating lots throughout the day but a lighter meal in the evening is helpful for me - although it could just be fluke.

destiEos · 06/11/2021 07:32

Hello @3yearstrying bloody good luck to you, I hope third time's a charm Daffodil

@InvisibleDragon - it is lovely to come somewhere supportive, especially as so many of us haven't told anyone yet. The first week I was lurking on here really made me feel so much better about everything Smile

Now this morning sickness stuff - how long does it last? Is anyone air the other side yet? I managed a Mexican meal last night, but then was up all night with stomach ache. Really looking forward to being home and just eating endless amounts of ready salted crisps, plain cheese and tomato sandwiches, crackers 🤤

destiEos · 06/11/2021 07:36

@Willow1981 maternity clothes review if you have the time, please!

And just cross-posted, if weeks 6&7 water based but 8 is better, then maybe I'll be better at week 10..crosses fingers...🤞🏻

CurryandSnuggle · 06/11/2021 07:45

I’m not out the other side of morning sickness yet but my all day nausea has eased to maybe 1 hour in the morning and 1 hour in the evening (something like that) the last few days. I’ve been drinking only sparkling flavoured water as still and hot drinks made me feel ill, and I’ve been eating little and often. Not sure if that’s why I’m feeling better, it could be that I am at 10 weeks now so may have passed the peak. I’m just really hopeful I am coming out the other side as it has been really unpleasant.

Imhereforthecake · 06/11/2021 08:41

@laurenGame epau just said some women bleed in pregnancy- that was it Confused they couldn't see any evidence of bleeding on the scan so fingers crossed. They just said to call them if it doesn't settle after a week or gets worse.

Seabreeze2 · 06/11/2021 08:45

I’m 8+3 and still all day nausea with waves where it feels particularly bad - but haven’t actually been sick. And I think the waves are when I haven’t eaten. Apparently the hormones peak around week 9, so hoping that means from week 10 onwards it starts to gradually ease 😞. We’ve got this girls 😆🙌🏻

PurpleMoon12 · 06/11/2021 08:54

Hi everyone! I've held off commenting until i had my booking appointment - which i had last night! It's my first pregnancy and fell pregnant on our first try (I'm 30 so I wrongly thought it would take longer - very grateful) so its a bit of a whirlwind! The appointment went well, its a quiet local birth centre, very modern and it put my mind at ease massively. Lots of health and family questions, took a blood sample, peed in the strangest paper cup, blew in a tube and had a tour. I've been dated by the midwife as 9 weeks based on my period, but I know I'm more like 7 weeks - so the dating scan should confirm that when I'm booked in.

I've been suffering from all day nausea, but i managed an unhealthy chicken and chips for lunch yesterday which then like a miracle stopped the nausea for the rest of the day - so filling lunches are the way to go for me (once i can actually get the food down!) I work in an office so i think people are starting to notice me heaving and looking like death - really wish i was back working from home but i know it could be a lot worse! Really feel for you ladies who are actually being sick 💐

MadamMaltesers · 06/11/2021 09:00

@InvisibleDragon thanks, im going to have to persevere. Im just not eating no apetite, which is mot helping.

Prema112 · 06/11/2021 10:23

I'm 10.5 weeks and still feeling horrible. I had a brief reprieve at 9 weeks but now feel more nauseous than ever. I can't wait for it to finish I feel like I'm being a rubbish mum I haven't played properly with my 5 year old for days Sad I've ordered anti nausea tablets I hope they help...

Will do. Although I couldn't find work trousers I liked at a reasonable price, so I just sized up my previous ones which were already stretchy as I like food!

Willow1981 · 06/11/2021 10:38

I am feeling very luck as I have not really had a lot of nausea at all.
I'm still very tired. Sleep is a struggle though. Getting uncomfortable and I often find the sofa better than my bed! Think it is the support on my back.

HWka · 06/11/2021 10:49

@Seabreeze2 I’m 8 weeks 3 days too 🥰🥰 same with waves of nausea all day but no sickness!

beansprout55 · 06/11/2021 11:47

Has anyone found anything that combats nausea DURING the waves, rather than methods to avoid them in the first place?

I find I get hit after waking up from sleep, naps etc..... and in the evening whilst lounging on the couch. When I'm at work I'm fine! I think inactivity brings it on for me which sucks as I'm tired so I want and need to be a vegetable....

Yes, drinking sprite was the only thing that worked for me. It would stop the waves quickly.
rathernotshare · 06/11/2021 12:21

Bit random but 100% pregnancy related... does anyone else feel like everyone hates you? Ever single minor interaction I have with a person, I feel like it went badly. I feel like they are making judgements or thought I was being stupid, annoyed at me or just generally dislike me. Really struggling with it. Aware I'm emotional right now but just wondering whether this is normal or I should mention it to someone? I do have a history with mental health but I really want a drug free pregnancy

RoseValleyRambles · 06/11/2021 12:26

I've just picked up some ginger cordial in the hope that it'll help. Very fed up feeling sick all the time

beansprout55 · 06/11/2021 12:41

Some of you might remember I had my TV scan at 6 weeks on Monday and the Dr told me all was well (I didn't asked specifics) but after some Googling I'm worried - my print out says my CRL was measuring 2.9mm and I was 5+6 - I know it's only one day out but isn't that small? Why wouldn't the dr have said something? Really paranoid and anxious now 😕

beansprout55 · 06/11/2021 13:20

Oh and HB was detected. I just don't get why he didn't saying anything and was happy with how things looked. Google tells me 2.9mm is small 🙁

Prema112 · 06/11/2021 13:29

@rathernotshare I am definitely grumpy most of the time, and pregnancy hormones can run riot with our emotions. I wonder whether it would be worth speaking to someone about how you are feeling just for some reassurance, it can't be a nice feeling that people are against you

Prema112 · 06/11/2021 13:34

@beansprout55 try not to worry, I would try to trust what the dr said not dr google. It is incredibly difficult to get an accurate measurement at that stage. At my 10 week scan I was measuring 1 day behind and nurse wasn't worried at all, said embryo was a bit curled up. So I'm determined not to worry! Main thing is the heartbeat 💓

rathernotshare · 06/11/2021 13:39

@beansprout55 I had a scan at 8 weeks and she got 8 weeks, 8+1 and 8+2 from the 3 measurements she took, I wouldn't worry, she literally measured the same thing 3 times and got 3 different results!
