Oo @laurenGame how are you measuring that? I’ve never known what my HCG levels are, can’t find a test that tells me (I’m outside of the UK atm, maybe they just don’t do em here?)

Wellthiswasunexpected · 05/11/2021 11:22

Didn’t mean to hit send so quickly…

*I read that HCG levels can fluctuate quite a bit, perhaps that’s what’s happening in your case? :) Do you have any symptoms that seem unusual for you?

Fingers crossed for your next scan, the waits are agonising I know!

laurenGame · 05/11/2021 11:51

@Wellthiswasunexpected
Hcg levels should double every two days Sad with mine being static it prob means pregnancy has stopped....
I'm in Australia so get them done at GP. Well he refers me to pathology for bloods.
They're good because there's no heartbeat yet so I can use hcg levels to see if pregnancy has stopped (I had a bleed few days ago).

How many weeks are you? Hcg is good for before you can hear heartbeat. Otherwise ultrasound is better Smile

Wellthiswasunexpected · 05/11/2021 12:06

@laurenGame Oh I'm so sorry I didn't realise you'd had a bleed, I must have missed that. Really hope my post didn't come across insensitive. The thing I'd read was this, for what it's worth www.verywellfamily.com/is-miscarriage-imminent-if-hcg-is-not-doubling-2371280. It said "if your hCG levels aren't exactly doubling but are still increasing, that's a good sign," so I thought perhaps that was encouraging for a case like yours but of course, don't want to give you false hope either. Really hope someone here has had a similar experience. I'm 8+4 and still haven't had any blood tests, hopefully they'll give me one soon x

laurenGame · 05/11/2021 12:31

@Wellthiswasunexpected oh don't be silly apologising I don't think I've mentioned the bleed Smile
Funnily enoguh I just read that article today! They all say that 'even if it's a slow increase then things could be ok' - by slow increases they mean 53% growth, mine is only 5% 😬 so mines like non-existent but I'll be okay regardless Of the outcome , time will tell.
Have you had a scan yet? Will be able to hear heartbeat now Smile

Pandamama88 · 05/11/2021 12:47

Try a squirty water bottle. My dog used to jump up on guests so I squirted her with a water bottle. She doesn't like it. Now if she is naughty I just shake the bottle and she calms down.

Prema112 · 05/11/2021 12:55

@laurenGame I was told by my clinic that they don't measure hcg from 6 weeks as it becomes an inaccurate way of measuring progression, that it take 4 days or longer to double and a scan is much more useful. Try not to worry, my levels didn't double in early pregnancy and it's looking good now

Prema112 · 05/11/2021 12:57

I've just had a 10 week scan and the bleed has gone! I'm so relieved! And we could see the baby making little jerky movements 🥲 I'm measuring 1 day behind and because it's IVF the dates are sure but they didn't seem worried so I'm gonna try not worry either

HWka · 05/11/2021 12:59

@laurenGame really sorry to hear that, hope time doesn’t move too hideously slowly for your scan.
Had such a going on, last night I bled brings red blood and even a clot when I went to the toilet. Rang EPU yet again to go this morning, had a scan and the baby IS ABSOLUTELY FINE! The sac is in a good position, the baby measured 8 weeks 2 days and what looked like a good heartbeat 💓. All the nurses completely baffled and just said to keep coming back every time there’s a bleed as this can happen. I’ve been up most of the night tossing and turning! So another story of a bleed not meaning the worst xxx

blueberryy · 05/11/2021 13:03

Really feeling these good scan vibes. I have one in 30 minutes and I'm so nervous. Just over 7 weeks now.

HWka · 05/11/2021 13:31

Yay @Prema112!! Congratulations!
Good luck @blueberryy let us know Flowers

blueberryy · 05/11/2021 13:52

Success! Baby is growing and has a strong heartbeat. Feeling relieved.

Prema112 · 05/11/2021 13:54

@blueberryy Yey!! Fab news!!

Prema112 · 05/11/2021 13:55

@HWka Thanks so much! So sorry you keep having bleeds it must be so stressful but so lovely your little bub is all fine in there Smile

destiEos · 05/11/2021 13:59

@MrsNT also planning on getting most things second hand if I can. eBay bundles of clothes look like they're really good value. And bedside cribs, with brand new mattress, of course!

destiEos · 05/11/2021 14:01

@Prema112 @HWka @blueberryy - great news on scans for all for you! Lovely to hear SmileDaffodil

MrsNT · 05/11/2021 14:14

rathernotshare · 05/11/2021 18:22

@pregnancydiaries hate it! I don't see the point, never have. I have a very sad dog ☹️

Imhereforthecake · 05/11/2021 18:32

Woo to thread 3!
I'm still getting on and off bleeding! Had 2 scans at epau and all seems to be fine, it's just so unsettling.

3yearstrying · 05/11/2021 18:47

Hi all! Due about 7 June 22! Had a miscarriage 3 months ago so hoping this is my rainbow baby!! Very anxious as last time i had no symptoms except sore boobs and this time very similar so dreading the first scan but also excited!

jun2022 · 05/11/2021 19:27

@PeeAche

This is my first but I have 2 step children that live with us half of the time. They're 7 and 10. We'll tell them at 12 weeks because it will also mean telling their mother, who won't make it a happy thing! 😬

Just moved into our house this year and already decorated the spare room. In fact, I'd just finished hanging the new curtains and putting the finishing touches when I got 2 lines the same day. 😂

I'm in the same boat as you, my first but my partners ex is going to do everything she can to not make this a happy time, so we also haven't told his 2 kids with her! I'm sure the oldest has guessed though!
CurryandSnuggle · 05/11/2021 20:09

@jun2022 oh dear! Is your partners ex a nightmare?

She can’t ruin your happiness though. The best “revenge” is being happy, she will hate that. Don’t give her any satisfaction to take away from this special time for you!!

Annabell1 · 05/11/2021 20:24

Hi everyone!
I'm also living in my sweatpants and leggings. Love working from home. :)
Isabella Oliver also has some lovely maternity clothes.
