Also good variety on Dorothy Perkins online maternity section

Unarosaes · 04/11/2021 21:03

Wohoo bring on thread thread!

@PeeAche, you're right, we've definitely come such a long way and I am really hoping that I can spend the next 7 months sharing weird symptoms, questions and concerns with all of you!

Hearing about how so many of you are also feeling cold makes me feel much better. I am normally cold, but now I am cold all the time. Shame that when I wrap up and feel cozy and warm I start feeling nauseous.... I really can't wait for November to pass!!!

PeeAche · 04/11/2021 21:07

H and M do amazing everything. The kids clothes from there are also fab. My step daughter won't wear anything else!

Also, the homeware. 😍

Speaking of homeware, who else has already decorated the baby's new room in their head?

AlbatrossSociety · 04/11/2021 21:29

@PeeAche I wish, I have definitely thought about it but we will be mid renovation when baby (hopefully) arrives so the room is going to have to wait. Although it does mean I can plan from scratch which is very exciting!!

Feeling a bit grumpy this evening, I'm so tired and don't feel like I'm doing great at work. The bare minimum of my job feels like too much at the moment. My booking in appointment isn't until 22nd November when I'll be 10+3 which feels soooo far away!

I'm glad some of you are still doing sporty things, I'm going back to hockey on Saturday after a couple weeks away for our wedding. Playing a couple teams below my usual team and planning to take it quite easy but can't wait to get back to it. I'm a bit worried that I'll be too nervous or tired to play properly!

unknownscot · 04/11/2021 21:59

Fabletics maternity leggings and non maternity leggings are the go to!!

I'm wearing non maternity just now but it's all I wear my normal leggings and jeans feel too tight.

Highly recommend

Brightsmoke · 05/11/2021 06:58

I'll also be mid renovation when baby comes. We'd planned an extension so I don't want to put too much money into the nursery, but it's bright yellow with polystyrene ceiling tiles currently, so will have to spend some at least. We'd only planned one child, so was beginning to get life back now he's at school, dreading sleepless nights and nappies again 😂

Hope everyone is starting to feel better soon 🤞🏻

Prema112 · 05/11/2021 07:06

@Brightsmoke we also have one boy at school, how old is your son? People who have kids already, when are you planning on telling them??

CurryandSnuggle · 05/11/2021 07:10

@Prema112 I e told my 6 year old already as he’s very boisterous so I had to telll him to be careful as there “might be a baby in there, we don’t know yet but need to be careful”. Then a couple of weeks ago he saw the early scan picture and asked what it was, so we told him there’s a baby in there. He’s very excited and has been really good at keeping our secret! He’s not told a soul and he’s known for ages. Bless him!

Prema112 · 05/11/2021 07:21

@CurryandSnuggle that's amazing!! So lovely that he's excited! I've no idea how my 5 year old is gonna react, he's been drawing lots of pictures of me, him and daddy recently I wonder if he has an inkling. I don't think he'd keep it a secret so once we tell him the cats out of the bag! It's been my dream since he was 1 to tell him he's going to be a big brother 😍

PeeAche · 05/11/2021 07:26

This is my first but I have 2 step children that live with us half of the time. They're 7 and 10. We'll tell them at 12 weeks because it will also mean telling their mother, who won't make it a happy thing! 😬

Just moved into our house this year and already decorated the spare room. In fact, I'd just finished hanging the new curtains and putting the finishing touches when I got 2 lines the same day. 😂

destiEos · 05/11/2021 07:27

@Prema112 I've been on progynova since two weeks before IVF transfer, and only started feeling sick a week or so ago. Was very happily only sore boobs, odd cramp and tired until then!

As for temperature, the air-conditioning is set to 22 and I venture out twice a day for breakfast and dinner... It's 29 degrees here and humid which really doesn't help the nausea 😂 Sorry for the downer everyone! I'm hoping this will go away in time for me to have one more dip in the ocean before we go home 🤞🏼

Also have appointments at 10 weeks (first) and 13 weeks (scan), I already had an early scan at 6 weeks as recommended by IVF bods.. So everything was fine a couple of weeks ago. I have had browny-cream discharge - WAY TMI, I'm sorry 😳, today though. I'm guessing a bit of blood mixed with pessaries - quietly not panicking over here 😟

Clothing - I have one pair of very-elasticated-Hush-MC-Hammer-trousers which is currently the only thing I am happy in, but I think it's the nausea not the bump. Looking forward to maternity shopping from home soon! Any recommendations on super-comfy pregnancy bras - don't want to buy maternity ones yet (with clips for feeding and so on) but could with no underside and proper support?

And nursery decorating!!! I am dying to put decals on the wall, I've been adding all sorts of things to Etsy and John Lewis favourites for weeks, but don't want to jump the gun, so haven't bought a thing.

destiEos · 05/11/2021 07:30

*could do with no underwire and proper support?

Prema112 · 05/11/2021 07:35

As for a nursery, this baby won't be getting a nursery! We live in London and have 2 bedrooms. They will be in with us as long as we can bear it then in with their 6/7 year old brother?! Dunno, not sure how that's gonna work... May have to move out of London at some point

rathernotshare · 05/11/2021 08:11

Definitely too early to be worrying about this but I am anyway.... does anyone else's parents have an out of control dog? Because of the 'designer' breed they don't see a problem but I'm already worried about visiting them pregnant because of the constant jumping up, scratching for attention, the dog will literally climb all over your head while you're sat eating dinner! I'm a huge dog lover but they can't see it's a problem and I'm even more worried when I actually have a child! I haven't seen my parents since being pregnant and won't see them for around another 8 weeks....

destiEos · 05/11/2021 08:23

@Prema112 sorry, I meant office-cum-spare-room-cum-nursery Wink Also in London and finally moved out of a one-bed last year to a two-bed! We had plans for the second room to be a guest room, but then it had to be an office and now a nursery too. The cat is going to be livid, too Grin

CurryandSnuggle · 05/11/2021 09:20

@Prema112 I’m down in Brighton, also a 2 bed house. Baby will be in with us then in with their brother. Will be able to fit a cot in there, then eventually it will be bunk beds. If we have a girl then we’ll probably consider moving sooner, as our boy will be 7 by the time baby is born, so eventually they’d need their own rooms if baby is a girl.

RoseValleyRambles · 05/11/2021 09:34

I have just had two night sleep in a row where I didn't wake up to 4am cramps. Bliss. Hoping things are settling down a little.

TTCjourney2021 · 05/11/2021 09:49

I have an 8 year old boy! And 2 step children I think we will tell them at Christmas when we've hit 12 weeks! Some sort of Xmas present announcement!!

Nausea has hit me this morning! For the first time, which I am welcoming at the moment I feel like everything's okay now, daft j know! Breakfast can wait for now haha! X

Vimto1991 · 05/11/2021 10:09

Definitley almost feeling the need for maternity clothes. Lockdown has caused weight gain and so has the fact the only food I can stomach being junk food and carbs!! I get worried wearing tight jeans that I may be harming the baby (and to be fair it’s so uncomfortable). I luckily work from home so can sit in whatever is comfy 😂

MrsNT · 05/11/2021 10:32

I have been looking at nursery furniture on local fbmarket place. I might buy cot bed from there. Some seemed in really good condition and good value. Much cheaper than buying brand new. What are your thoughts ladies?

Anyone thinking of buying a chicco next to me ? I like that. Will get a new one as not sure how to wash an old one. With wood furniture you can wipe it or disinfect it easily.

Brightsmoke · 05/11/2021 10:53

@Prema112, I've actually told my son already. He's no good at keeping a secret, but as I've already had to tell work, and I told him when I told my parents, he's got no one to spill the beans to! He's told a few of his friends at school but he's excited so I don't blame him lol.

I had a next to me the first time @MrsNT, it was a god send on the night time feeds! I've just been given another one by a friend, all the fabric comes off, so it's really easy to clean. But I'm trying to do this baby as cheap as possible, just to see how it can be done. My son had everything brand new and we wasted thousands of £. Unfortunately we got rid of everything so having to start from scratch 🙈

Brightsmoke · 05/11/2021 10:54

Forgot to say, I'm wearing the Lidl maternity leggings today. Little bit baggy in places, but comfortable and not see through!!

MrsNT · 05/11/2021 10:57

@birthsmoke oooh if it comes off then i might consider getting 2nd hand and buying brand new matress ..will see if i can get hold of a good quality one .

@Prema112
@CurryandSnuggle I'm in similar situation. 2 bed house and don't want to have to move. Planning that baby will stay in our room for as long as possible and then join my toddler in same room. We can fit cot and single in their room and then will move to bunk beds if we are still in this house when they are older.
I grew up with separate bedrooms and my OH always shared with siblings, so taking me a bit of getting used to but I think it'll be fine!

laurenGame · 05/11/2021 11:12

Has anyone had slow rising of HCG levels? SmileI'm 6 weeks and 2 days ago my hcg was 19,000 today it's only 20,000.

I'm convinced it means pregnancy has stopped, I'll actually feel better knowing. Scan in a week so it's a long time to wait and wait x
