I had a early scan today and it went well, with baby measuring 9+3 (exactly as per first day of my last AF). I have my 12 week scan on 1st December and really can't wait for the date to roll around. The doctor was very friendly and told me to stop worrying so much, he thinks this pregnancy will be successful as everything looks ok. Fingers crossed he is right!!

HWka · 11/11/2021 13:24

@unknownscot @beansprout55 @Unarosaes so pleased for you! congratulations!!
@RoseValleyRambles I’m so so sorry for this, it’s so heartbreaking I know from experience, give yourself plenty of care and hope you have good support around you. I’m upset for you that you have to wait until next Thursday, seems a long time to wait to see what’s happened. Hope it doesn’t go too slowly for you Flowers

Wellthiswasunexpected · 11/11/2021 13:30

Thanks for all the well wishes about the antenatal depression. @rathernotshare sorry it feels like you're going through something similar, is anyone helping you with it? I haven't sought any help yet, a bit overwhelmed having just moved to a foreign country, I don't even have a GP yet (when you're pregnant here a GP isn't involved, just a midwife). But I think I will look for a counsellor soon if it doesn't improve. @AlbatrossSociety I can't believe the things your therapist has said to you. Those comments would absolutely make me spiral in my current state! I'm so sorry.

@laurenGame, @CurryandSnuggle, @Imhereforthecake, @unknownscot, @beansprout55 - congratulations on all your recent successful scans! SO happy for all of you. And @Unarosaes, I'm exactly 9+3 as well! Big congratulations.

@MrsNT I'm definitely signing up to that online workshop, thanks for sharing :)

@PeeAche sorry that your husband isn't all that enthused right now. I hope it's just because it hasn't properly sunk in yet, not because of a lack of interest. At least know that we're all enthused on your behalf! :D

@RoseValleyRambles I'm so, so sorry that you didn't get better news from the EPU. But as others have said, do please keep us updated Flowers keeping my fingers crossed for next Thursday x

hudasalem · 11/11/2021 14:08

I was invited to join this thread as I’m 7 weeks pregnant and suffering from some bleeding and I’m worried and was told a few of you have had the same. I have had one previous miscarriage

hudasalem · 11/11/2021 14:18

Reading some of your experiences is soo warming and calming I hope I have the same experience at my scan tmrw

Vimto1991 · 11/11/2021 14:26

@RoseValleyRambles keeping you in my thoughts. Hope you receive some good news! If it is what they say, it is nice to see you are already thinking about your future and how you will cope with the grief. Keep strong, and gather support from loved ones if needs be. Flowers

Does anyone have any bad back problems? I work from home all day and I get such a bad back from sitting at my chair. Used to use deep heat and codeine but now I can’t! For now just using a hot water bottle. 😩

AlbatrossSociety · 11/11/2021 14:48

@RoseValleyRambles I'm so so sorry. I'll wait for your update next week and hope for the best but send you strength and love whatever happens.

@Wellthiswasunexpected yes it's lucky I'm not having a tough time with my own thoughts or what he said could have been really damaging! It's nice also to be able to scoff at it with you ladies on here because sometimes I think the worst thing is not being able to share thoughts and feelings that you're worried about and then they get kind of magnified and that can make you feel worse. Is there anyone you can talk to in rl? Also please don't let it put you off counselling just find someone who's comfortable and experienced with prenatal mental health!

@CurryandSnuggle I had a really weird dream the other night where I was basically a teenager again but I was still pregnant! And I was also in a relationship with the boy I was in a relationship with then and I was actually really confused when I woke up next to my husband haha.

AlbatrossSociety · 11/11/2021 14:49

@Vimto1991 also I have had a back injury in the past, you can get a wedge for your chair that brings your hips higher than your knees which can be helpful if it's lower back pain.

Vimto1991 · 11/11/2021 14:51

@AlbatrossSociety oooh interesting. Mines in between my shoulder blades and my neck probably from straining my neck. I think my desk is too low, whenever I stand up the pain wears off but I know the further along with the pregnancy will cause more aggro, and I know we can’t take much for pain. 😭 hot water bottle has slightly helped!

hudasalem · 11/11/2021 15:01

The bleeding is still not in the pad but I feel there’s more when I go to toilet I’m soo nervous 😣 for the scan tomorrow

hudasalem · 11/11/2021 15:02

I also suffered from back pain I found heat pads worked really well

rathernotshare · 11/11/2021 15:08

@Wellthiswasunexpected I just had my booking appointment and they asked if I wanted to be referred to the midwife mental health team, I said I'll just keep an eye on it for now as I'm so up and down but they said it's a quick call to get on to them. Hopefully they have something similar near you?

hudasalem · 11/11/2021 15:30

Anyone have any tips on how to keep calm when still slightly bleeding and waiting dor scan. ?

hudasalem · 11/11/2021 15:30

*for

Imhereforthecake · 11/11/2021 15:35

@hudasalem both @beansprout55 and I have had exactly the same experiences with bleeding and so far so good. What time is your scan?

hudasalem · 11/11/2021 15:41

@Imhereforthecake my scan is 5:15 tomorrow I’m very anxious I hope mine is good outcome.

Seabreeze2 · 11/11/2021 15:45

@RoseValleyRambles thinking of you and preying for a miracle for you next Thursday ❤️💐

@Vimto1991 I also have Graves’ disease but haven’t had radioactive therapy. I take daily medication to keep it under control but luckily my levels were in control prior to getting pregnant. I’ve been told I’ll see a consultant. But still haven’t had my booking in appt with midwife (9+1 today). Wonder if they’ll tell me the same as you. Hopefully it’s just to keep a closer eye. X

Vimto1991 · 11/11/2021 15:49

@Seabreeze2 my thyroid is managed with levothyroxine now, but she said I’m still high risk, I think it’s so they can manage your thyroid levels as she said they fluctuate during pregnancy so our dosage could end up changing over time, just means you have more appointments with a consultant and blood tests, which I am sure you are so used to now. :(
Fingers crossed all goes well for both of us, it’s weirdly nice to know someone is going through the same thing!

PeeAche · 11/11/2021 16:24

I'm such a modern woman. I was just loading the kid's school uniforms into the washing machine, when I had to briefly stop and do a small vomit into the utility room sink. Swilled out the sink and recommenced the laundry without missing a beat.

Now that's multitasking.

@hudasalem are any of the terrible Christmas movies on Netflix yet? Perhaps one about the big city PR-journalist-yoga-instructor who has to move to a small town for a project she's working on, and just can't catch a break. And worst of all, the local diner just can't get her skinny triple mocha cappu-latte (with imitation goats milk) right. But then she meets a hunky widowed man, who is really misunderstood, but good with his hands, and together they save Christmas??
Because if any of those are out yet, they'd be the perfect distraction whilst you wait for your scan.

hudasalem · 11/11/2021 16:30

@PeeAche haha yes I use to love them during exam time thank you I will try that. :)

hudasalem · 11/11/2021 16:31

@PeeAche thank your comment you made me smile and laugh really needed that ☺️

😘😘😘

HWka · 11/11/2021 16:35

@hudasalem so sorry to read this! If you read back many of us have had bleeds so it seems to be common! I’ll suggest the Vanessa Hudgens one the knight before Christmas or the princess switch. Definitely not the princess switch 2 though- that was 2 hours of my life I’ll never get back!
Good luck for your scan will you keep us updated? Xxx

hudasalem · 11/11/2021 16:41

@HWka thank you yes I have that has made me feel a lot better. thank you I will try to watch one of them but not the 2nd 😂. Me yes I will

hudasalem · 11/11/2021 16:41
