Feeling twinges today, 37+1 Confused I've had baby movements that feel like they're burrowing southwards, and really tense tummy, I assume these are Braxton Hicks??
And been feeling really emotional today for no obvious reason Confused how is everyone else doing?

Em39ma · 15/11/2021 21:38

@2020mission I’m ok over all just very big. Get a lot of braxton hicks, but they say that’s because everything is so stretched.
I have scans every 4 weeks, next being at 36 weeks, but I see the midwife in between so making sure I’m seen basically every 2 weeks.
I’m seeing the consultant at the same time and they will go over if my c section can stay at 39 weeks or be brought forward to 38 weeks like I had with my dd. I only have sections as they found out after trying to induce me last time that my cervix faces towards the back, so can’t come out that way any way.
Gd testing is quite normal as that can be a cause. Mine they believe is hereditary as both my mother and grandmother had it too.

Hi please may I join? This is my first baby and he’s due on the 14th December.

Em39ma · 16/11/2021 18:02

@LucyOrli welcome, How are you feeling?
I think we are all reaching the had enough stage now.

OP posts:
Theawkwardblonde · 16/11/2021 22:08

@Em39ma definitely at the had enough stage.
Damn cramp in both legs since 3am. Has not shifted. Im running on around 3 hours a night now due to aches, heartburn and sickness.

Again been hit with all the "get used to it, when baby's here you'll get no sleep" comments 🙄🙄 yes but my backside, legs and back won't ache constantly!

Scarletpig1 · 16/11/2021 22:27

That's me finished up work today 😛 so I have a month to try and get tidied up and organised for the baby coming. It's so good to be finished work. I think I'm probably going to spend more time napping than tidying in the mornings while my toddler is at nursery if I'm honest

Sparklestars86 · 16/11/2021 23:44

@LucyOrli welcome. Same due date as me- my first too!
@scarletpig1 definitely have plenty naps I say! I've still got another 3 weeks at work and wishing I was all sorted and ready to leave sooner! Xx

Em39ma · 17/11/2021 06:57

@Theawkwardblonde the cramp it’s fun isn’t it. My nose has decided that every time I lie down it will completely block, so no sleep due to that too.
I’m running on about 3 hours too, propped myself up with about 6 pillows which helped my nose, but made my hip, pelvic and leg pain worse. Decided I can’t win what ever I do.
Got the allergy clinic this morning for my first covid jab, hoping it doesn’t make me feel worse, as really don’t need it. Dd at my parents so a break from her, but got an electrician at the house sorting things today. Will go to my parents an sleep the afternoon away there.

OP posts:
LucyOrli · 17/11/2021 08:39

@Em39ma I have definitely had enough! My bump is in the 97th percentile for size and I’m not a big woman so all I can say is “I’m TOO FULL!”

LucyOrli · 17/11/2021 08:42

@Sparklestars86 Oh cool! I hope you’re feeling well?

Sparklestars86 · 17/11/2021 10:41

@LucyOrli not too bad thank you. All the normal complaints about lack of sleep, painful hips and pelvis etc but, thankfully, no real complications so far.
I have a scan and midwife appt tomorrow so that will give me an idea of size (was around 90th centile at last bump measurement and going upwards steeper than the line so hoping it's levelled off a bit now!). I've just got a feeling I'm going to go overdue and bracing myself for a big baby! Xx

Em39ma · 18/11/2021 13:43

Had the midwife this morning, had my first covid jab yesterday at the allergy clinic. Baby has been a bit quiet since yesterday, moving just my sluggish. Everything sounds fine, but had a little protein in my wee. They decided I was better to be checked by day assessment unit. All good on the trace, showed I’m having a lot of braxton hicks, every 3/4 minutes.
Want to keep an eye in case they become more intense. They agreed that jab may have made him a bit sleepy, I’m not feeling great headache and sore arm so nothing major.

OP posts:
Foreverboymumma · 19/11/2021 02:55

@Em39ma how are you feeling? I’m 34+1 today having lots of braxton hicks too, although midwife hasn’t seemed concerned 😦 and I seen her yesterday.
My covid jab made babys movements sluggish for a day or two but afterwards babe was moving back to the pattern I was used too. I’m suffering insomnia & some weird sleep disordered breathing which I’ve also mentioned to midwife etc who doesn’t seem concerned. I’ve put so much weight on in this pregnancy and just a little before she says it could be down to that, not to mention babe measuring 3 weeks ahead and totally off the chart😬
Midwife seen how fed up I was yesterday and I’m a crying mess. I love my baby but I’m done with this pregnancy it’s thrown so much at me and I’m an anxious person anyway.

Enough of my moaning I hope you feel betterFlowers

Room4onemore · 19/11/2021 07:06

Hi ladies I’ll read back through but I’m just checking in, I went for my 36+4 week scan and baby is still transverse, if my waters go and she is in this position I could have a cord prolapse which is dangerous for the baby so I’m being admitted on Tuesday and they are going to try and turn her on Friday and induce me, if she doesn’t turn I’m down for section on Friday

Em39ma · 19/11/2021 07:41

@Foreverboymumma the midwife agree could be the jab too, but with my age and other risk factors she thought it was best to check.
Not feeling too bad now. I’m measure 4/5 weeks a head so know how you are feeling. Last time I burst into tears on the consultant as I had really had enough. I’m seeing him again just before 37 weeks, knowing me I’ll probably be like it again.

AnonymousXXIX · 19/11/2021 07:53

@Foreverboymumma wow that sounds tough! I am so sorry : ( I am 34+2 as well today but can't compare. Getting veery uncomfortable with back pain and heartburn at night but during the day I am totally fine. No braxton hicks (I am starting to wonder how do you even recognise them? everyone seems to get them..).

I am feeling a little disappointed with the NHS/my midwife though. It's been impossible to get an antenatal class booked (still online in my area) and no one ever seems to have time for my questions, or to help me sort things out (for example I want a covid booster but I am not eligible till January and no one has any advice). It's been fine so far (NHS is busy and oversubscribed and I am fine so can't complain) but as it is starting to get near my due date the lack of support is starting to worry me a bit : (

@Room4onemore eek that sounds crazy! I hope everything goes well.

I would be quite keen on an induction if I go past my due date, but at 40 weeks not 42. But that seems to be really unusual and no one has info on that. It's because my support network is really only available between 38-41 weeks (they live abroad and are taking an extended Christmas holiday), so I am super worried about having baby after they have gone : o

NightDreaming · 19/11/2021 14:36

34wks here and feeling it. 🥱😴😮‍💨🥴

This is baby number 3, and although I was working full time when I had my first 2, I’m now part time and gave no idea how you full timers are coping. Im exhausted. Getting leg craps in the night which constantly wake me. Can’t get comfortable so takes ages to get back to sleep. Hips & back hurting. And most likely 6wks still to go. Gah.

Really thinking of you with additional issues making these last few weeks harder work and/or more stressful. xx

NatMoz · 19/11/2021 14:44

I'm 36+4, due 13/12.

I'm still working until 38+4 weeks so two weeks to go for me.

We've been building an extension since August. The kitchen finally arrived yesterday so hopefully will be fitted next week.

We've been living without a washing machine during that time and no downstairs sink! Baby's room is definitely not ready.

On the positive side we are as prepared as we can be given the circumstances!

Definitely sick of being pregnant but want baby to hold on a few more weeks so the house is in an acceptable state!!!

Foreverboymumma · 20/11/2021 04:34

@Em39ma oh of course it’s better to be checked than to assume it’s something. I’m seeing consultant at 36 weeks to get a plan of action but with the way my pregnancy has gone my mental health has taken a knock. I stare at the same 4 walls all day.

@AnonymousXXIX
It’s been really really tough, really not the nicest pregnancy compared to my first.
Because I’ve been so bed ridden, whenever I am out for appointments my back is in bits and I feel like I’m being winded😓😬 I’m just an emotional mess to be honest.
Braxton hicks my stomach just goes realllllly tight which isn’t comfortable but doesn’t last too long.

can you call your midwife and express how your feeling again and just express your concerned I know how frustrating it can be.CakeFlowers

Em39ma · 20/11/2021 07:27

@Foreverboymumma I’m not allowed to go any apart from the midwife or hospital. It’s been like this since we found out I’m pregnant. All the days are the same, just hoping once he’s out and I’ve had the second jab I will get some freedom back, even if it’s just to go for a walk.
Poor dd has never played with a child the same age as her and has only seen her older cousins a couple of times over the summer, nothing since then as schools are so full of covid. I know it’s worth it but it does effect you after a while.

Hope everyone is doing okay. Midwife this week told he baby has started to engage (1/5th). Already feeling a lot of pressure in my pelvis.

Anyone's sickness made an unwelcome return? I've been ill the last 3 afternoons/nights with it. Had horrendous sickness till about 26 weeks so I'm not happy it's returned!!

NightDreaming · 26/11/2021 11:26

Thinking of all of you with beginning of December due dates. Hope you’ve been having restful starts to maternity leave. Anyone feeling like they might end up with a November baby?? Has everyone got names sorted? We have a few names on a list but feel like we haven’t actually got “the one” written down yet.

I’m end of December and today I have just finished touching up our bedroom wall (god it was manky and needed repainting) before we move furniture tomorrow to make space for cot/baby’s chest of draws.

AnonymousXXIX · 26/11/2021 11:48

@NightDreaming my midwife told me this week I probably shouldn't expect baby to arrive till January! Heeeeelp.

We sort of settled on a name, we're kind of trying it out at the moment. Looking forward to some down time from work soon, although even laying on the sofa is uncomfortable now...

1ce1cebaby · 26/11/2021 11:59

Hi @NightDreaming. I’ve had a November baby - born Wednesday. 8lb 9oz. I was induced. Both I’m doing well. My original due date was Dec 1st but I was measuring big so they wanted me to go earlier. Hopefully this becomes busier with lots of babies being born soon.
Well @AnonymousXXIX I would take that with a pinch of salt as it’s just impossible to tell! But hopefully you don’t have too long to wait

PeeAche · 26/11/2021 14:20

Hi ladies,

I was expecting a baby in December of this year but sadly I lost her. Way back then, I was a part of the Due December 2021 thread but I obviously had to leave.

I've been thinking about all those December babies and ladies a lot, as what would have been my due date is approaching. I wanted to stop by and wish you all well.

I'm now expecting in June and everything is going much better this time.

Good luck with your deliveries. Congratulations to those of you that have already delivered.

xxxThanks
