Haven't done my bag yet either. This is my last week of work though so will get round to that and sorting baby clothes etc starting next week. Glad to be finishing work. My brain isn't working properly from the lack of sleep. Can't believe we are nearly at the finish line Grin

Room4onemore · 10/11/2021 08:44

I did my bag last weekend. I’m 35+5 today

Sparklestars86 · 10/11/2021 08:48

I'n 35+1 and have half done mine- which feels more dangerous as it's neither fully done nor fully on my to do list! Going to get rest of the things together this weekend hopefully. Xx

Em39ma · 10/11/2021 12:22

I’ve thrown a few bits in a bag, but no where near everything.
The babies room I can’t even get into to get his clothes. Having recently moved, his room is a bit of dumping ground. He will be in with us for 6 months anyway.

CityGirl182 · 10/11/2021 12:46

Ha ha, our "baby room" is still in the middle of being painted so all the baby stuff is in our room, it's doing my head in... I'm on a mission to complete the painting this week even if new carpet has to wait until after pay day!

Em39ma · 10/11/2021 14:15

@CityGirl182 we managed to get the place decorated before we moved in, which was great. Trouble is the new house is bigger but less storage🤦‍♀️ Builder is coming in the new year to build the utility room and downstairs bathroom ( only got one toilet at the moment)
We are 80% there, but we have way too much stuff and I’ve have thrown out loads.

Woke up at 4am because my back hurt, then couldn't turn any other way due to heartburn, and then got too hungry to go back to sleep Sad How is everyone else doing today?

Em39ma · 12/11/2021 09:00

I’m fed up with waking every hour for the toilet. Just get off to sleep and then up again. Had my last physio session yesterday, done all they can without using crutches. I’ve still got from I broke my leg, will use them if have to stand for too long, but on house arrest now anyway, so not going anywhere. Really ready for the boy to come out. 4 weeks left.

Theawkwardblonde · 12/11/2021 11:02

@AnonymousXXIX that's a standard night for me now unfortunately. The routine of getting up at 4am due to heartburn, sciatica and needing to pee is killing me 😞 it's awful isn't it.

Sparklestars86 · 12/11/2021 11:05

I actually had a decent(ish) night last night! All relative of course- it wasn't great by any means but no window of being wide awake between 2am and 5pm which had become the norm!
Ive also been woken recently with really strong period type pains through the night. They're gone by morning and dont feel like anything even close to starting properly- but hopefully body will be well rehearsed when the early stages do come for real! Xx

Lindzers83 · 13/11/2021 10:22

I bought a salt lamp hoping it would help but it doesn't. Feels like I'm awake more than asleep now.

Car seat question should you take the baby out of a pram suit before putting them in? Or will they be cold?

1ce1cebaby · 13/11/2021 11:01

@Lindzers83 yea, you should remove costs or pram suits before putting baby in the car seat so the seatbelt is secure. I just use blankets. Or you can get the blankets that insert into the car seat and can be snuggled around baby.

Lindzers83 · 13/11/2021 11:55

Thanks @1ce1cebaby glad I checked x

Em39ma · 13/11/2021 12:43

I have the blankets that have holes for the car seat straps. Never use coats or snowsuits etc in the car.
You can use the light weight fleece/ jogger material suits you can get them from gap etc. gives baby a light weight suit for when it’s very cold.

@Lindzers83 Tuppence & Crumble star wraps are a good option for the car seat Smile

Lindzers83 · 13/11/2021 20:11

Thanks ladies x

Velvetscrunchy · 14/11/2021 08:29

Hi, I asked on a separate thread but no reply so trying here. I’m almost 35 weeks and have been having dull period pains with back ache on a more regular basis. That feeling you get before your period arrives. It’s not cramping, just dull pain.
Baby is moving fine, she doesn’t have any pattern but I can feel her moving right now.
No additional discharge, no show. Woke up around 1:30am on Friday feeling like I was wetting myself a little but I think that was just wee with pathetic bladder control/pelvic floor at the moment (very mortifying). It can’t have been trickling waters breaking right? They don’t stop until all the water is out?

Should I get this check out? Is this to be expected as baby settles into position and my body prepares for the next 5 weeks?
At a bit of a loss. I don’t want to do the wrong thing.

Scarletpig1 · 14/11/2021 08:57

Hi velvetscrunchy,
I would just call maternity triage and they can advise you. I think they can test to see if waters have broken or not. I'm sure they have seen plenty of people who just had wee leaking so I wouldn't worry about that x

CityGirl182 · 14/11/2021 09:17

I would call maternity triage if I wasn't sure about waters breaking. Whenever I've spoken to them they've been so helpful and very happy to check something out. Better knowing than wondering/worrying!

Em39ma · 14/11/2021 09:57

I’m not allowed to go into labour because of my polyhydramnios.
But since yesterday I’ve been getting braxton hicks that are lasting a couples of hours at a time. Second child but never had contractions apart from braxton hicks so not sure if I should do something about them. Only 34 weeks, so a bit early for labour, well I hope. They do stop if I lie down for a rest, do we think maybe I’m just doing a bit to much tidying?

Hello ladies. Just had a read down the thread :)
33+4 here & bags all packed & ready! I’m so organised. I’ve even done Christmas just last few bits to get which I’m doing this week and then the wrapping can all be done.
@Velvetscrunchy have you contacted triage lovely?

@Em39ma I also have polyhydrominos, baby was estimated to weigh 5lbs2oz at my 32 week scan which worried me they said oh you’ll have a big baby and are looking to induce me. I’m so worried & nervous. I don’t know what to expect but I’ve also got gestational diabetes 😓 I’m not sure if I’ve ever experienced braxton hicks I have no idea what I’m really looking for?

Em39ma · 14/11/2021 16:28

@MrsGxx we measured 5lb at 32 weeks too., but no GD for me he’s just huge.
Hoping they decide to take him out early when we go for our 36 weeks scan on the 25th. Dd was out at 38 weeks, 39 this time sounds like I’m pushing my luck and could go into to labour.
The contractions seem to be if I’m doing some, but I need to tidy stuff away.
Finish my bag this morning, just need snack and it will all be sorted. DH is off work Friday this week and Monday next so hopefully will get the side by side up. Just really feeling it now, shouldn’t wish it away, but I hate being pregnant the baby bit is so much easier.

I got a phone call today from the allergy clinic. I’m finally getting my first covid jab yay. Got to make sure I’ve got my notes etc with me, this is just in case I react. At least now I will have some protection before the babies born.

@Em39ma sorry to jump in but I've got polyhydramnios too and wanted to ask how you are? I was diagnosed at a 32 week growth scan - my midwife sent me for the scan after the tape measurement the day before measured me too small and then suddenly at the scan I was a bit too big and had excess the amniotic fluid 😑 I've been booked in for a glucose tolerance test at 36 weeks but otherwise they're just leaving me for a few weeks without any extra monitoring. I'm a little anxious about the whole thing!

Sparklestars86 · 15/11/2021 20:57

@Em39ma good news re your vaccination! Hopefully will pass some over to the baby too.
Fingers crossed all goes well and no reaction. Xx
