Hi all, long time lurker, first time poster here! Currently 7+3. Had a natural MC earlier this year at around 5w.
Got an early scan booked tomorrow due to my symptoms suddenly going away last weekend, (although boob ache has since returned along with 2/3 days of mild morning nausea) and I'n currently a ball of nerves. Dreading that they'll tell me baby is measuring smaller due to late ovulation dates (my app told me I was ovulating straight after period and then moved to a week later after testing with OPKs), I just want to go there and see a healthy heartbeat and know that baby is OK and my pre-MC anxiety nerves are all in my head Sad
I don't really know why I'm telling you this lol as I know it's very much 'it is what it is' sort of situation but I just need to tell SOMEONE at least! I'm the worst at letting my thoughts get into my head.
Thanks for reading this far. X

DaimDillyDoo · 01/11/2021 19:42

I joined my meeting via Teams - camera and mic totally off though. I've had a bucket by my bed and the laptop to the side of me.

I am feeling rough, I thought I'd been too lucky with my HG this time.

Sorry for your loss @Bridgey8 Thanks

What's everyone else doing to keep on top of constipation? I've picked some lactulose up but I hate it - it makes my tummy all rumbly/bubbly and because I constantly feel sick, it's putting me off taking it because I cannot bear the feeling in my stomach. I feel like I'm impacted! Haloween Sad

CurryandSnuggle · 01/11/2021 19:49

@crazycatladyinsurrey Welcome to the group and good luck for your scan tomorrow! Remember it’s more likely that things are progressing normally than not. It sounds promising that your symptoms are back (however having no symptoms makes it no more likely that you’re going to miscarry, so if you have good days, or if anyone is lurking with hardly any symptoms I don’t think one needs to panic. I had few in my first pregnancy apart from food aversion and last few weeks of pregnancy I had PUPPP, but otherwise plain sailing!) Will be thinking of you, let us know how you get on.

@DaimDillyDoo you poor thing! I am glad you didn’t go in though, sounds like home was the best place for you. Have you told your boss?

Wish I could help on constipation front but I’ve been lucky. I think it could be because I eat lots of fruit and I have weetabix for breakfast (lots of fibre) but I’m not sure, I might just be lucky. I don’t envy you though, I had constipation bad after my c-section and it is horrid, also didn’t like the tablets!!

@CurryandSnuggle @rathernotshare @Seabreeze2 glad to know it’s just not me! With the nausea and bloatedness having sex is the last thing I fancy. My partner took it well at the weekend and I think he understands but I do hope my drive comes back slightly so we don’t lose the closeness.

yellowpinkbluegreen · 01/11/2021 20:06
@yellowpinkbluegreen I have the foul smell after sex and some itching. BV would be the first symptom and the second isn’t BV so I am a bit confused. On edge until I get the STI results
Sounds like it might be BV! The smell is the giveaway, and itching could just be an extra thing!

If you find a cure would love to hear haha

Unarosaes · 01/11/2021 20:19

This conversation about sex was so well timed! I was just talking about it with my BF. I want to be intimate but not when I am feeling nauseous or exhausted which has been mostly the deal in the last few weeks. I told him we're not alone, not sure it made him feel much better about it tho (it definitely helped me!)

@crazycatladyinsurrey welcome to the group! It's totally normal that you feel like this and that you need to share your feelings. Several of us have experienced previous losses and I can definitely relate to the anxiety and helplessness of not having any control over something that is happening in your body and which you want very much. I had an early scan on Friday and took the day off because I knew I wouldn't be able to get anything done. Like @CurryandSnuggle said, we need to remind ourselves that it is much more likely to go well than not. I hope you get the reassurance you need at the early scan. And use this space to vent as much as you need!

TTCjourney2021 · 01/11/2021 20:21

Ah I'm glad it's not just me!! Definitely don't want to lose the intimacy though x

Imhereforthecake · 01/11/2021 20:36

I've had some more pink spotting after I wipe (sorry tmi). I've already been to epau once - I don't want them to think I'm a crazy person if I call again!
I have a scan booked Monday. Do I just wait?
I'm just an anxious mess Sad

TinyTickler · 01/11/2021 20:53

@rathernotshare mine has cracked out that exact line! Get a grip, whining like a drama queen ain't making you sexier!

beansprout55 · 01/11/2021 21:16

@Imhereforthecake scroll down and read my experience from today x (I've been spotting for 6 days!)

crazycatladyinsurrey · 01/11/2021 21:36

Thanks @Unarosaes @CurryandSnuggle 💖💖 will keep you posted.

Throughly enjoying this thread so far, seems like my safe space x

Tofu35 · 02/11/2021 07:20

@CurryandSnuggle @rathernotshare @Seabreeze2 and the others too! We were TTC for 2 years, so sex was every other day (or every day when we had the CB solid smile), think he has found the shift from regular penetrative sex to zero tough to take. Especially in those first few weeks when my boobs were aching and even giving him a hug was painful. Think he's counting down to the second trimester when the nausea goes!

@daimdillydoo best thing I found for easing my constipation was alternating between porridge and weetabix (although it's Asda own brand) for breakfast.

pregnancydiaries · 02/11/2021 07:35

@Bridgey8 thinking of you today ♥️ Like others having been through the surgery too I promise you will come out a much stronger woman on the other side and ready to fight this pregnancy journey until it all works out.xx

@TTCjourney2021 another couple who haven’t DTD since testing positive and I don’t have any intention either until at least 12 weeks 😂😂 my poor partner x

pregnancydiaries · 02/11/2021 07:37

Ended up in hospital yesterday ladies for the HG and have been panicking all morning that the anti sickness injections and the high levels of ketones in my urine have caused harm 😥 midwives keep telling me that these drugs have been used for years but can’t help feeling full of anxiety, what is wrong with me!!!!!! Hopefully get home today x

Imhereforthecake · 02/11/2021 07:44

@beansprout55 thank you! Daffodil

MrsNT · 02/11/2021 08:43

@pregnancydiaries dont worry girl..the nurses /midwives are right. They would never give you any medicine which could harm the baby..

MrsNT · 02/11/2021 08:45

Ladies who are already mommies ...did you use anything for stretch marks to prevent it ...if yes when did you start and what did you use..help us 1st timers out 😂

Vimto1991 · 02/11/2021 09:34

Has anyone had their flu jab now that we are eligible? I’m not anti vax but Pfizer really messed up my menstrual cycle, and I’m worried the flu jab may affect the baby. I’m booked in for today and dreading it but I know it’s needed. 😰

MrsNT · 02/11/2021 10:01

@vimto1991 ive got mine in 2weeks

Btw ladies i came across this recipe for anti sickness tea on Ovia Preg app today. Thought I share here. Ive not tried it yet

Boiling water
1 tablespoon finely grated fresh ginger
1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon
1 tablespoon raw organic honey, plus more to taste
¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
Directions
Put ginger in a teapot or medium bowl. Pour 1 cup of boiling water over it and let steep for at least 5 minutes.
In the meantime, in a mug combine lemon juice and honey (and cayenne pepper, if using.) Strain the ginger tea into the mug. Stir to dissolve the honey. Taste and add more honey or lemon if you like.

Tofu35 · 02/11/2021 10:02

Hey @vimto1991 I'm due to get mine when I go for the 12 wk scan (two weeks from now). Understand your worries, particularly if you had a bad experience with Pfizer! All you can do is check with your GP/midwife and they will be able to give the best advice. We are a vulnerable group, and side effects seem small (according to the NHS inform site).

Tofu35 · 02/11/2021 10:05

www.nhs.uk/pregnancy/keeping-well/flu-jab/ worry forgot to link!

czycoup · 02/11/2021 10:08

Hi; can I join? I've not read all the thread but I'll do my best to keep up!

Hope everyone is doing ok!

czycoup · 02/11/2021 10:11

@pregnancydiaries that's sounds awful! I was in twice with my first pregnancy with HG. It's not nice but if it helps my oldest turned out OK. I hope you get to go home today

PeeAche · 02/11/2021 11:44

Hey @pregnancydiaries I've been in hospital for HG this week too. It really was awful and I was really anxious and upset at admission. Especially because I was so worried about the effects on my baby.
The nurse told me that I was feeling particularly wound up and emotional because I was dehydrated and that one of the symptoms of dehydration is paranoia. I thought she was "full of it" (and felt a bit annoyed that she called me paranoid 🤣) but 24 hours later, I left hospital feeling so much better. I never got a chance to thank her, because she didn't come back on shift.

Since my stay, I've been able to keep down small morsels of salty food and sips of apple and blackcurrant squash. I'm currently on Maxalon and steroids. 😬

MrsNT · 02/11/2021 11:51

@peeache did you have to go via A&E or did you call midwives directly
