Hi all, congrats on your BFPs! Such an exciting time. Had my BFP last Wednesday, due date is July 1st!

I had a stillborn baby girl in April this year and an early miscarriage last cycle, so finding it really hard to get excited about it and keep anxiety at bay.

Pretty much no symptoms so far apart from very vivid dreams and waking up super early, no nausea at all - exactly the same as my first pregnancy, so not worried about it but at times I really wish I'd get all symptoms just for peace of mind.

Where is everyone based?

Elsols93 · 25/10/2021 10:02

@laurenGame yes mine was the same with doing another test I was like well I want to check one more time (maybe 7) 😂 yes my partner is nervous so wants to wait till early scan before he lets all his excitement out ...

@camvt i wish you the healthiest and happiest pregnancy going❤️ what a horrible ordeal you have been through 😢 xxx

Elsols93 · 25/10/2021 10:05

@Missy95 yes my partner doesn’t get anything didn’t get the whole tww he even forgot about testing 🤦‍♀️ Least we all her eachother in this group all of us going through the exact same thing at the exact same time it’s great ! Xx

laurenGame · 25/10/2021 10:05

@camvt sorry to hear about your losses :( congratulations on your pregnancy,
I am due 5 July. I'm also having vivid dreams which is kinda tiring - I just want to sleep deeply ahah. And I also wake up early - I have been waking up at 4am and can't sleep anymore. I don't have nausea either i think it could be too early ? X

Nursemommy · 25/10/2021 10:06

I keep having really vivid dreams too!
Still doesn't completely feel real, think it's the cramps. Makes it feel like I'm about to come on my period.
I just keep looking at the tests and reminding myself it's real!
I'm from London, UK. Just got in touch with my GP I've no idea what happens next haha so just waiting to see!

Missy95 · 25/10/2021 10:11

@camvt good luck to you in this pregnancy ❤️ ✨

Im so thankful for these groups, they really do help!

Im based in Cumbria. I have to phone the midwife tomorrow and get booked in for 2-3 weeks. Xx

WannabeCountryBumpkin · 25/10/2021 10:26

Hello everyone!

I was so glad to see a thread up already even though i only got my BFP yesterday! LMP makes me 4 weeks today.

Yesterday my period was due at 12DPO, i got implantation bleeding on saturday and sunday (11+12DPO)... very concerned about late implantation and success rates, also i have a viral illness from my daughter and my temps got up to 39.5 yesterday!!
I was unaware of how this can damage the embryo.. have kept it down since last night.. but my god, the worry!! Because of the above i have not been getting excited, waiting till i can have a 6 week scan!

Anyone else feel the pressure of dealing with this and not talking to friends and family?
Thanks for the vent!

i123i · 25/10/2021 10:30

Welcome to all those who’ve just joined!! ❤️

Sending you all lots of strength and positivity as I know most of us (myself included) find this a nerve wracking time.
@camvt - so sorry for your losses, but glad you’re here with us now.

Aah I just got an email notification that my 12 week scan has been booked!! It’ll be 14 December (I’ll be just under 12 weeks then) and at my booking in appointment I’ll be around 9 weeks. Makes it all feel so real but at the same time it’s still surreal!! I still don’t feel pregnant most of the time apart from some cramp and slightly achey boobs…

Weirdly my appointments aren’t at the hospital I put down as where I want to give birth. It’s at a slightly closer one but they’re almost the same distance, and in the same group of London hospitals.
Did anyone else get that? (I’m in London so might be different).

i123i · 25/10/2021 10:31

Also agreed that men don’t fully understand our urge to do multiple tests 😂, or the same level of fear of something going wrong.
Good to be able to chat to family about it, so I’m tempted to tell my mum a little earlier than planned.

camvt · 25/10/2021 10:33

Thanks all, I'm trying to keep positive that everything will go beautifully.

@laurenGame It's so strange isn't it? It was my first clue that I was pregnant last time around. It's so exhausting! I've been falling asleep at 9pm now

@Nursemommy I'm in London too - I've sent a self-referral to UCLH but haven't spoken to my GP yet. They usually just ask you some general questions i.e. do you smoke etc and tell you take folic acid/prenatal vitamins. Then you can self-refer to a maternity hospital of your choice.

@WannabeCountryBumpkin how stressful! But I'm sure everything will be fine. Sending you lots of love! Yes about feeling the pressure, but you can always tell people in stages if you don't feel ready yet. We've decided to tell the ones we consider our support network (basically just parents for now), then tell the wider family once it gets confirmed on scan.

camvt · 25/10/2021 10:36

@i123i thank you hun! Yes, I was booked in with Homerton Hospital last pregnancy but all my midwife appointments were at the community midwives office in Shoreditch, only the scans happened at Homerton.

WannabeCountryBumpkin · 25/10/2021 10:37

@i123i Wow, you got that booked fast! great news and very exciting!
The appointments might just be down to availability? - With my daughter that was all at the same hospital, but we were hertfordshire based then, and it only made sense to have them all at lister hospital.

Weirdly, i feel the same nausea as i did with my DD.. even though its so early, same food aversions too!... maybe its all in my head as i know its coming Smile

Nursemommy · 25/10/2021 10:38

@camvt oh that's really helpful thank you! I'm going to self refer to GSTT! Xx

laurenGame · 25/10/2021 10:39

@Missy95 and anyone else who might have some (or a lot) of pregnancy worry - I've googled 'pregnancy fears podcasts' and 'best pregnancy podcasts' and wow there are so many! I'll be listening through them in the next few days and will shout if I come across any great ones.

I really want to enjoy this pregnancy and not have any fear, I think it's such a beautiful time and I wanted this for years and years ☺️

@i123i insanely jealous of your booked 12 week dec scan! Wow congrats, I want one too 😂 I'm in Australia so think it's a bit different , going to see GP tomorrow then she's doing blood tests etc x

Missy95 · 25/10/2021 10:39

Ahh hearing appointments being made is so exciting. I can't wait to talk to my midwife tomorrow. Im defo feeling the pressure of who to talk to. I have some nights out planned too. I haven't been drinking for a few months while ttc, and all my friends/family know that (im also a massive light weight and can't handle a hangover). Yet the pressure is still there for a night out. 'Just have a few, you will be fine'. And then the questions begin.. its very frustrating 😂 xx

Elsols93 · 25/10/2021 10:40

@i123i did you have to self refer for hospital?

I’m patiently waiting I done it a week ago and just want to speak to someone to make it feel more real😂 with my little boy I lived in London and was seen by my doctor the next day where I’m living now I had to self refer was abit disappointed 😂

Missy95 · 25/10/2021 10:41

@laurenGame brill thank you! I will have a look xx

Effram · 25/10/2021 10:59

@laurenGame hii! Yes I've used due date calculator but that's what I mean... From last period I get 29th June but from when the app thinks I ovulated it's 5th July. I actually think it's a bit in the middle! I guess the scan will narrow it down.

@camvt sorry for your losses and lots of love to your baby girl. I'm also in london!

I had early scans with my previous pregnancies but going to try and resist this time as I spent so much on them and I was quite anxious! This time I will try and hang on. I probably won't last !

Feeling quite nauseous today but haven't been actually sick yet. Definitely more sick than last time, hopefully s good sign!

i123i · 25/10/2021 11:06

@camvt - that makes sense to have some in the midwife centre and scans in the hospital. But my scan is also in the hospital I didn’t pick. Might give them a call!

@WannabeCountryBumpkin - you’re right, it could also be down to availability!

@laurenGame - good tip on the podcasts, I’ll check some out.

@Missy95 - good luck with the nights out. I had one on Saturday and said I was having a few days break from alcohol (kind of true. Just turn “days” into “months” 😂). I’ll probably say the same to a different group of friends I have a night out with soon. I’m not sure that group will actually believe it…

@Elsols93 - yes I did a self referral from when I was at 4w last Thursday. Got my booking in appointment notification the next day, and the 12w scan appointment notification today (so just 3-4 days after submission of my self referral! Pretty impressive!).

WannabeCountryBumpkin · 25/10/2021 11:11

@laurenGame Great shout with the podcasts! - already listened to 'Is it Normal?' on Spotify - its by Jessie Ware and the 1st episode focuses on the first 4-6 weeks, nice to listen to something so relevant!

bestwisheskindregards · 25/10/2021 11:28

I think I might tell my partners parents and best friend at 5/6 weeks. My partners parents are coming to visit the weekend before I turn 6 weeks and it’ll be nice to tell them in person and I have a bottomless brunch with friends the same weekend, so I’m hoping my best friend can help me secretly avoid alcohol by drinking my drinks haha. I’d love to tell my Mum but she wouldn’t be able to keep it a secret - my entire family would know in no time haha. But I can’t wait to tell her. I’m thinking of telling her on Christmas Day when I’ll be 12 weeks - assuming everything goes to plan! 🤞🏻

Missy95 · 25/10/2021 11:58

I have picked up a 7 day course of antibiotics for a water infection (i have problems with my kidney so I get then often) ... my friends are still hell bent on having a drink at the weekend 🙈🙈

Im in the same boat for wanting to tell my mum, but knowing she will also blab to the rest of the family 😂 also, she will be overly cautious.. which is meant with kindness and care, but with my own worries already, I don't need hers every day as well xx

I’m due at very end of June (26-30th I think) but also felt like this group would be a better fit, hope that’s ok! 5+1 today and had a call from a midwife to arrange my booking appointment for 15th - exciting stuff!

We decided to tell our parents/siblings at the weekend, which was lovely but undecided on when to tell friends…I agree with many of you that turning down a drink will be a big giveaway haha but I’m not sure my bestie can be trusted to keep it a secret!

Has anyone started making plans/buying bits yet? We’re trying to hold off until the 12 week scan to make sure everything’s ok but the temptation is real x

Is anyone absolutely exhausted?
