If anyone is struggling to find baby names both you and your DP like, there are many tinder-like apps for baby names where you both swipe and get a match. It helped us as I like strong names like Alexandra whereas my OP is suggesting Savine 😒🙈 at least instead of telling each other 'no', 'no' we wait till we get a name match and discuss it. Seems more positive that way 😄

@mishmh12 I'm also abroad in Australia and no family here. But they can come and visit when the baby is born :) my family love it here and they love any excuse to come over 😂

@HotToddyColdSauvignon I've stopped having symptoms, but I'm not worrying, just eating and sleeping well and having positive thoughts, I'm not spiritual but i believe in creating the right mellow environment for "baby growth" :) no symptoms is totally fine, just mention it to your Dr when you're going for an app? X

Going to GP soon, nothing new here- days are dragging haha. DP started telling his family, work , I just leave him to it. 😁 not telling any of mine until 7-8 weeks scan
Just done a long beach walk on my own and can't stop feeling elated about my little bun in the oven ☺️

Holskey · 26/10/2021 00:04

@laurenGame you seem so zen! I'm aspiring 😂

Holskey · 26/10/2021 00:05

@Elsols93

Anyone been having dull cramps mine come at night time nothing painful but just notice at night time ? Xxx
Totally normal. I had it with my first 2 years ago and it freaked me out. Now I find them comforting, like a little reminder that something is going on in there Smile
laurenGame · 26/10/2021 03:26

@Holskey haha I have little fears of things going wrong but I quickly force them to stop. I work in healthcare and stress/anxiety is so so bad for us.

Basically our body/immune system is just fighting off viruses/germs 24/7 that are trying to attack our body; it's really good at doing that. But when we are stressed then a lot of this fighting power goes into dealing with the stress, meaning our body is left with no 'fighting power' to fight off the viruses.

The way I think is if I'm constantly stressed, it's sort of as bad as drinking alcohol/ taking drugs. The baby needs a healthy happy mum, it'll thrive in that nurturing environment.

Disclaimer: I might change my tune in the next few weeks and freak out 🤣🤣 but im trying to be positive Grin xx

Missy95 · 26/10/2021 06:46

@CarpeDiem83 @camvt sending big hugs to you ladies and wishing you both all of the best with your pregnancy's. How lovely you have found each other through this network though.

@Elsols93 I have dull cramps and pullings which I think are quiet normal; your body is making huge adjustments to grow that little bubba - although I was a bit concerned at first, my worries have eased a little.

@laurenGame I also have family over in Aus! But they are excited to visit us in England! Although they don't know our news yet, they will be wven more excited!

Im currently cooped up with a bad UTI, hoping lots of rest will help me recover quickly and I can get back into feeling excited. Its hard to feel anything when im so poorly 🤒 xx

Missy95 · 26/10/2021 06:47

Sorry for anyone I missed. Welcome to the group ladies who have just joined and congratulations on your pregnancy❤️

HotToddyColdSauvignon · 26/10/2021 06:50

Oooh @laurenGame that name app sounds fun! Which one are you using?

i123i · 26/10/2021 07:24

@Elsols93 - I have occasional mild cramp but nothing too bad. Think it’s totally normal. Otherwise still not many symptoms other than slightly achey boobs sometimes (but that could be from the chest exercises in the gym 😆), and not always sleeping very well.

@laurenGame - I envy your walk on the beach in Australia 😂 My walks are battling the blustery wind and rain in the local park, and has to be before it gets dark at 5pm 😂 😂 Totally agree on trying to create a happy non-stressed environment for the growing baby.

@Missy95 - sorry to hear about the UTI. Hope it goes away soon.

Amyc94 · 26/10/2021 08:34

Hey everyone 🤍

Huge congratulations on all your BFPs.

I got mine on Sunday, I think I'll be 4 weeks tomorrow, due early July. I still don't think it's sunk in yet, I feel like I'm in a dream.

It's still such early days so I'm just praying everything works out well.

I have no clue what the next steps are and I'm so anxious about everything 🙈 can you tell it's our first 😂

I have an under active thyroid so I think I would be classed as high risk(?) and need to be monitored more? Has anyone had experience with this?

HotToddyColdSauvignon · 26/10/2021 08:37

Congratulations @Amyc94!
First steps: call your GP to get registered with your local midwife team for your booking in appointment (usually around 6-8 weeks)

Look at me sounding like I know what I’m doing Grin

Disclaimer: that’s the only thing I know so far Grin

WannabeCountryBumpkin · 26/10/2021 08:47

Hello everyone!

Thought I would update on my eventful 24 hours…

Hate to bring negativity to such a positive group, but I’m also keeping it real.
My positive tests seem to be getting faint or non existent, even with FMU. We are assuming this is a loss, but it can take a few week to physically lose it.
A part of me is praying that all this isn’t happening!
I will keep you updated, but extremely happy for all the mini bumps out there that will bouncing babies in no time!

X

Elsols93 · 26/10/2021 08:48

@Missy95 you think with my 2nd I would be more relaxed no 😂 I seem to have forgot everything from my previous pregnancy!

@i123i the cramping went i think TMI Trapped wind 😂 yes my boobs ache exhaustion is real b it that could be as I have a toddler answer lol also look about 3 months with this bloat!

@Amyc94 congratulations ❤️ Speak to me out GP you may have to self refer yourself to hospital but GP will let you know xx

Elsols93 · 26/10/2021 08:49

@WannabeCountryBumpkin 😢 I am so sorry! I am also praying for you ... Call your closest early pregnancy unit and get them to check hcg levels xxx

Missy95 · 26/10/2021 08:50

@WannabeCountryBumpkin fingers crossed everything is ok ❤️❤️

WannabeCountryBumpkin · 26/10/2021 08:57

Thank you @Elsols93

WannabeCountryBumpkin · 26/10/2021 09:00

Oops hit send too early!

Thank you @Elsols93 and @Missy95 - I’m on with the drs, they have a silly booking system & will have to ring at 8am tomorrow for an appointment, annoying!

Elsols93 · 26/10/2021 09:29

@WannabeCountryBumpkin I wouldn’t even bother with them no help at all saying to call back tomorrow!! ring up the local epu if you have one how many weeks are you xxx

laurenGame · 26/10/2021 09:34

Went to my GP today and I've booked my first 7 week scan on 16 nov, then a week later my first app with an obstetrician. I chose to go private; GP said I won't see them again and only deal with obstetrician. All a bit confusing but just counting down to my scan now.

Anyone having any symptoms? My boobs are massive how can they grow for 8 more months?

@HotToddyColdSauvignon the app is called BabyName but you can Google baby names app for couples, there are loads Smile

@i123i it's nice but the heat is exhausting at times, I'm dreading being heavily pregnant and 40 degree days !

@Missy95 ouch cystitis is the worst for me, I get blood and everything ! Bicarbonate soda is good for it and natural, otherwise some sachets at the chemist should help . Hope it eases of soon xxx

@WannabeCountryBumpkin sorry to hear that, praying it's false alarm 🌺 keep us updated on here (if you feel like it), or Just to talk xx

HotToddyColdSauvignon · 26/10/2021 09:44

Oh @WannabeCountryBumpkin Sad keeping everything crossed for you

Missy95 · 26/10/2021 09:44

@laurenGame thanks for the tips, I have antibiotics so hopefully they kick in! I get them all of the time but this one is quite dreadful!

I have just booked in with the midwife 16th November and will have my first scan 3 weeks after that. I feel excited now but I know I will be a mess in the days leading up!

Symptoms wise - I have achey boobs now and then and sometimes a bit of nausea. But nothing too much xx

Effram · 26/10/2021 09:56

Morning everyone!

Lots of love to you @WannabeCountryBumpkin and I'm keeping everything crossed just in case xxxxxx

@Missy95 hope you feel better soon!

@laurenGame exciting about the appointment! I have sent in my NHS referral, but plan to use the same private midwives we used for our 2nd, who were amazing. I had a perfect home birth and hoping for another :) but I keep my NHS appointments for scans and bloods and so my notes are up to date in case I ever need to transfer in etc.

@HotToddyColdSauvignon and @Amyc94 it's such a lovely time doing it all the first time round! and it's not lost any of the joy this time tbh! In most areas you don't need to see your GP, you can do a self-referral into maternity. it asks for extra info so I would put about the thyroid there and then call to chase if you don't hear in a week or so. last time I;ve had scan dates through pretty quickly and then booking appointment around 8 weeks.

We have our names sorted ... we really love all the same girls' names but struggle with boys. of course, we have had 2 boys, and I bet this one will be too. But we have come up with one we actually love and still love the original girl's name we chose before having our first boy so that's handy!

We will keep sex a surprise though, I have done with both my previous and I love it! Anyone else team yellow?

xxx

Missy95 · 26/10/2021 10:01

@Effram Aw wow, its so lovely hearing about other people's experiences. I have 2 girls names but no boys names! We are also team yellow.

It was so surreal being on the phone to the midwife and hearing someone say 'congratulations'. Its all so exciting xx

Elsols93 · 26/10/2021 10:06

@Effram oh I wish I could be team yellow I don’t think I have it in me 😂 I had to find out last time at 16 weeks.... I have a little boy would be nice to have a little girl this time round but who knows haha , waiting for my early scan date should be within the next two weeks so exciting also have first midwife appointment next week 🥳 xxx

Effram · 26/10/2021 10:17

Haha aww its exciting to find out too though. I love the surprise but also this time I don't want to find out because although obviously I will be delighted with another boy (and I see myself as Mother of Boys) this is our last so I will have a little 'what could have been' for a daughter. But I know I won't have that with the actual baby, while I think I would feel it with a scan? I don't know if that makes sense! Last time I was CONVINCED I was having a girl and I remember him popping out on our lounge floor and I was just like oh my gosh it's a BOY?! and just couldn't believe it.

My husband would probably choose to find out but he feels less strongly than I do so is happy to go along with it.

@Missy95 I had forgotten about that lovely moment of hearing congratulations! My last baby was a proper lockdown one, so I didn't see anyone for the first trimester! I remember being confused when the midwife taking my bloods after my 12 week scan said it and I was like eh what for?! then it felt so nice.

RosieT92 · 26/10/2021 10:25

Hey all!! Jumping on the bandwagon and so happy I have found this thread!

Due date is 1st July and this is first baby after ttc since 2020. So excited but so anxious!

Glad to hear others are feeling similiar to me! I have had cramps now for 8 days straight, albeit they are only mild. Also discovered I have a food aversion to chocolate orange which is a nightmare as it's my favourite 🤦

Regardless of what happens and whether this makes it past the 12 weeks, it's so comforting to read there will be others feeling the exact same emotions and anxieties!

Also, anyone else found that time seems to be going SO slow since BFP?!
