@Cruz86 my appointment is 11:30 tomorrow so not too long a wait.

@purpleskyssssss @JJ1992 @OhGloriousDay thank you for the well wishes & reassurances

rdr15 · 15/11/2021 18:59

Hi everyone.
Just found out I'm around 4 weeks pregnant due around 22nd July. Feeling bit overwhelmed! Will be my 3rd pregnancy with my 2nd being 6 years ago! So I'm sure lots of things have changed since then. Have a new partner too who has no previous children so he is very excited! Hope everyone is well

rdr15 · 15/11/2021 19:08

@jasmine88woo how are you feeling now? I'm not far from Liverpool Smile hoping to visit markets soon!

Cruz86 · 15/11/2021 19:19

No they're not sure @JJ1992. The measurement dated me at 5w4d which means seeing no heartbeat is fair enough. But I'm so sure of my dates and it doesn't add up properly. This was a private scan so I phoned my midwife and she's referred me to epu for a second opinion with the nhs.

JJ1992 · 15/11/2021 19:29

@Cruz86 were you checking ovulation strips? Do you know date of conception?
Will keep everything crossed for your midwife appt and scan ❤️🤞

Cruz86 · 15/11/2021 19:39

Yes I did @JJ1992. I wish I didn't though because I might feel more hopeful now! I had my last peak ovulation test on the 12th October and then had my first positive pregnancy test on the 21st October. Thank you, I really hope by some miraculous magic they got it wrong today 😩 xx

laurenGame · 15/11/2021 19:56

Shit @Cruz86 I'm so sorry 😞 what a nerve rack...

I know this is different, but when I had bleeding they tested my HCG on a weds and told me to test on Friday again to see if HCG has increased so pregnancy is still viable.
Well on Friday HCG showed the same level, it didn't grow.

I was devastated. It was very clear to me pregnancy hasn't progressed. But it was fine in the end, it did progress after, and is up to speed now.

Hopefully tomorrow will bring you some peace and answers. Thinking of you ❤️

Sending lots of virtual hugs for tomorrow. Fingers tightly crossed for you.
AppleTree16 · 15/11/2021 20:03

Anyone feeling a bit weird about lack of major symptoms and only evidence of baby is some sticks 🤣?? We’re going to hold off for a private scan until about 8/9 weeks just to be sure (as you can be). The waiting is 🤪🤪.

rdr15 · 15/11/2021 20:22

@AppleTree16 How far along are you? I'm only 4 weeks so only evidence is some sticks and sore boobs Grin

AppleTree16 · 15/11/2021 20:24

About 5 and a half weeks so yes - sore boobs, bit of nausea and nothing else 😀

rdr15 · 15/11/2021 20:33

@AppleTree16 luckily no nausea yet but not looking forward to experiencing it again!

Monday55 · 15/11/2021 20:59

I'm 7 weeks +3 and my nausea stopped about 4 days ago and I was cramping all weekend which got me worried. Went for my scheduled scan today and was happy to see the little heartbeat. It's an ivf baby hence the extra scan.

The only symptoms I have now is bigger boobies and I no longer crave sweet items even though I have the worst sweet tooth ever, no matter how bloated I am from eating I always have room for sweets but just can't face them right now.

Gabs234 · 15/11/2021 22:43

Hi all, I received a text today for my first midwife appointment (which will be at the 8 week mark). It says this will be over the phone, but on the NHS website it says they'll do blood tests, urine sample etc. between 8-12 weeks (and it sounds like the same appointment). So I'm a bit confused - will these tests be a follow up appointment or is it something I'll go to my GP for? Any insight would be very welcome (and help my worrying) Confused

Monday55 · 15/11/2021 22:48

@gabs234 I have 2 appointments with midwife next week. First one is a video call and the second one will be in person to do bloods and measurements etc. Maybe they'll book you a 2nd appointment after the phone call appointment

Gabs234 · 15/11/2021 23:04

Thanks @Monday55 that is super useful! I'm off overseas two days after my scheduled call so I'll call them tomorrow and find out if I can do them close together like yours

purpleskyssssss · 16/11/2021 06:19

Yes @AppleTree16 I have very little symptoms - boobs are a little fuller but not sore, I have the odd food aversion (mostly the thought of chicken) a little tired but other then that I feel fine! We are also waiting till around 9 weeks so have our scan booked for 2nd December - waiting is soooo hard and they has been numerous times I've gone to book another even earlier but resisted so far!

ChrissyAero · 16/11/2021 08:01

I've booked a scan for Saturday - I'll be 6+5 so hopefully they can see something.

I ended up telling my mum and she paid for the scan for me 😂

jasmine88woo · 16/11/2021 08:55

@rdr15
Feeling good now thank you!
Woke up Yesterday morning with no more tummy discomfort.
I'm 6 & 3 today and I feel a lot more sicky today. Definitely more tired this week too.
Boobies also seem to be a lot bigger, heavier and veinier 😩 (if that's even a word)

Got my midwife telephone booking in appointment tomorrow but also no mention of a face to face visit for bloods etc....

I'm 12weeks on Xmas day so hoping she will book me my 12week scan before Xmas so I can announce on Xmas day with a scan pic 🥰

Still constantly worried about MC though as my mum and my sister both lost their firsts around 7 weeks.
Is it normal to be paranoid about MC so much?
Every time I go to the loo I pray for no blood.

Also nervous about telling my boss 😕

How is everyone else feeling ? ❤️

Effram · 16/11/2021 09:04

@jasmine88woo I had a telephone booking appt yesterday and during that she said I'll receive an appointment in next week or so for my bloods.

It was a lovely appointment actually even though it was on the phone, midwife had read all my notes from previous pregnancies and was really clued up and definitely had my vibe (e.g. home birth with as little intervention as possible!). Sadly she's going on maternity leave, and the continuity of care team has been disbanded due to staffing crisis. I am so sad for maternity services in this country, I'm planning to go to one of the vigils on Sunday "march with midwives" as tbh I just think women deserve better.

TaraEO · 16/11/2021 09:09

Hiya all, congratulations on your pregnancies. My estimated due date is 10/07, got a faint positive 4 days before my expected period then another slightly darker positive 2 days later and confirmation with a digital about 2 days later. This is my third pregnancy I am a mum of two DS, I have pretty much sailed through my last two with the usual symptoms but mild heartburn abit of nausea in the evening BUT at 5w5d I woke up with terrible nausea, vertigo and a headache which was present 24/7 I couldn’t eat without feeling sick to my stomach and was just crying mostly as I was really struggling with my symptoms and looking after DS’ I have been wearing sea-bands and eating crackers throughout the day which seems to have helped immensely and things seem a little more manageable at the moment thankfully.
