@Rainbow123456789
I think it means 12weeks 4 days etc...
So I am 5&6 (5weeks 6 days)
Hope this helps xx

@Rainbow123456789

1: nappy bin.
Personally wouldn't bother. Bought one never used it as we were changing nappies all over the house.
During the night put them in our waste paper bin in the bedroom then would take them out to you black bin in the morning. During the day in our kitchen bin. If it was extra stinky put in a nappy bag before hand.

2: personally we have a rocking chair in our little girls room and it was a godsend if she didn't settle after a night feed and hubby needed to sleep for work next day.

3: they advise your baby to sleep with you for the first 6months. We had a little crib next to the bed. However my daughter slept through from 12 weeks so she went into her own room as we were disturbing her when we went to bed and then when hubby got up at 04.30 for work.

4: nhs is 20 weeks and private is 16 weeks. Personally like to be team yellow as I know 3 different people who have been told wrongly and got one heck of a shock when baby was born!

turnthebiglightoff · 12/11/2021 21:13

Please do keep your baby in with you until 6 months. There is nothing more important than following safe sleep guidelines.

OoOoBabyLove · 12/11/2021 21:15

Please can I join? currently 5w&5d with 2nd baby. Have loved reading your messages of support and thought it's about time I introduced myself :) due July 11th X

OoOoBabyLove · 12/11/2021 21:19

@Rainbow123456789

1: nappy bin. - I have one in my babies room at the moment, and it isn't the best at keeping the smell in. We always bag every nappy up and just put it straight in a bin that's kept outside on our patio. Takes 30 seconds and it keeps the smell of poo out the house :)!

2: we have an IKEA poang - I spend most of my nights sitting upright with my babe in my arms bouncing him to sleep! I'd highly recommend, I think they do a rocking version.

  1. Sleeping - I'd advise a next to me. They're amazing at having baby close to you but safely. I think with the side up at the bottom of your bed would be fine also.

4: nhs is 20 weeks, but it's optional so you don't have to find out at this appointment, it's mainly for getting a big health check on your baby.

Trinxsy · 12/11/2021 21:30

Been suffering from the world's worst cold in our house...finally recovered and the nausea has hit me like a ton of bricks. The thought of even drinking water is making me run cold so have sent DP out for some orange ice lollies which are the only thing that aren't making me feel horrendous. They're not making me feel good but at least I'm not like a corpse.

I'd much rather throw up, the nausea is debilitating. Is anyone else suffering from nausea and nausea alone? It's making me want to cry Sad

HoneyPea · 12/11/2021 21:40

@Trinxsy I've just got the nausea this time (only actually been sick twice) with my little boy I was constantly throwing up from 4 days before my period was late. I'm not sure which I prefer as at least you get some relief when being sick but then again you don't when it's so many times in a day 🤷‍♀️

jasmine88woo · 12/11/2021 21:55

@OoOoBabyLove
Welcome! I'm due July 10th with first (after 2yrs of trying) so am super excited but also super worried about keeping it safe and sound in there Smile

Trinxsy · 12/11/2021 21:56

Pretty sure I'd be asking for just nausea if I was actually throwing up @HoneyPea ! I'm taking it as a good sign though, I had no symptoms with my July pregnancy Grin
Although ... I would like to sleep. The insomnia can leave lol

Amey91 · 12/11/2021 22:16

@missv556 it's possible to do an private one earlier then the mid wife one then? I dont know anything :/. So you'll be getting a phone call about the same time as me then. I hate the waiting game :/ it's no fun at all. Hate having to wait round lol.
Aw thats a good idea :). May have to have a look into the videos then. Maybe need to start doing some research. Still don't believe anything. Would you start buying already??

@TryingToNotTry, I'm glad someone else isn't. I jsut got this feeling if not got many symptoms now does that mean 6 weeks I'll get hit with everything :/. Then that makes me worse with work :(.

JJ1992 · 12/11/2021 22:18

Ive not got nausea or sickness but completely lost my apetite due to bloating, makes me just want to nibble unhealthy food!

missv556 · 12/11/2021 22:27

@Amey91 yeah you can pay for a scan from 6 weeks. There's no way I could wait for my 12 week scan, I need to see my alien before then. Its tempting to start buying but I'm gonna hold off for a while tbh.

Amey91 · 12/11/2021 22:49

@missv556 I'm going to have a look into it. But thinking about it 12 weeks is a fair bit away isn't it lol. So I'd probably be the same and won't belive anything untill I see it.
Its hard not to tbh. Going to have a look into seeing what's first. Hard to know where to start to be honest :/

missv556 · 12/11/2021 23:04

@Amey91 I went shopping with my friend last Saturday and it was so tempting cos all the baby things are just so adorable. I'm moving relatively soon though so I'll probably wait until I'm settled so I have less things to pack/move. Also I know I'll be gifted some things so I might not even need to buy too much honestly. My friend has already offered me some clothes as she had a baby 6 months ago. She said they grow so quickly in the beginning you'll not get much wear out the clothes so no point buying much. I dont wanna spend crazy amounts so gonna keep it to the absolute essentials to start off

Me @Trinxsy Haloween Sad It’s low level nausea, but it’s there, in the background ALL DAY LONG Not enough to make me throw up, so I just feel sick all blinking day

And to think only last week I was worrying as I had no symptoms…

Elsols93 · 13/11/2021 06:54

@Trinxsy & @HotToddyColdSauvignon get your doctor to prescribe nausea tablets I got some yesterday you can take up to 3 times a day hope it helps xx

HotToddyColdSauvignon · 13/11/2021 07:00

Oh thank you @Elsols93, I didn’t know I could take those - figured it was just normal morning sickness and I just had to get on with it!

poopatroop · 13/11/2021 07:15

Got some faint lines on amazon cheapies last night and this morning, so looks like I'm in! Estimated due date of 30th July. Hello everyone :)

Does anyone have the details of the FB group? It was a lifeline for my DS.

Effram · 13/11/2021 07:45

Hello all and congrats to all newbies, so exciting!

Lots of love to @Tinypeanut1224 I'm so sorry :(

@laurenGame my EDD is 3rd July (my mum's birthday!) So I think with @Elsols93 we are the early ones! I've always been due end of month previously so it's exciting to be one of the first ones in the group haha!

My husband surprised me with a private scan this week as I've had a really full on couple of weeks of work so he did it as a treat. Saw a heartbeat straight away 💗 obv just a tiny blurry blob otherwise though but so reassuring.

@Rainbow123456789 re sleep, end of bed would be find. I co slept with both of my two, had a next2me but they for some reason decided that six inches away was too far! We followed the lullaby trust safe sleep 7 and I got far more sleep when I embraced it than when j tried to sit up/go downstairs to feed. I would just pop a boob in their mouth and go back to sleep, as they got bigger they did it themselves so I barely woke! They both sleep 12 hours a night in their own beds now. My youngest just turned 1 and is still in our room as just having an extension done then we will move things around to put him in with his brother.

Re nappies, I use cloth mostly but when when I use disposables I plop the poo down the toilet then put nappy in nappy bin and it really stops the smell. That's only post weaning, while on only milk the poo is not ploppable. We had a tommee tippee bin which really contains the smell then you can just take it out end of day. Smell's never really been an issue for us!

Gabs234 · 13/11/2021 08:13

Hi everyone! Very excited to find this group and join in 😁 Just found out I’m expecting my first, due 20 July. Still feels a bit surreal…

Elsols93 · 13/11/2021 09:30

@Effram I think it’s me on 1st then @laurenGame 2nd ( my birthday) and then you ❤️ Really sweet of your husband to Suprise you! I mentioned to mine about having another scan at 10 weeks and he said what I thought he would I’m mad 😂 I’m going to see how I feel next week if I’m still heavy with symptoms I may wait till Xmas 13 week scan xx

Due July 2022
Effram · 13/11/2021 09:35

@Elsols93 oh yes and @annie1994 on 2nd too just saw!

camvt · 13/11/2021 10:24

I'm due on the 1st too, but I think the date will move back a bit after the dating scan

Rainbow123456789 · 13/11/2021 10:28

Can anyone relate?
My bmi says I’m overweight(12st6), I know I am but what makes it worse is I carry all my extra weight solely on my thighs bum hips and belly… I don’t look that bad tbh but because I carry most of my extra weight on my hips and belly , I’ve been wearing normal leggings for quite some time and went to try on some of my jeggings and the elastic is really uncomfortable around the waist/belly. It’s probably because I havnt worn them in so long I’m not used to the way they feel, but is anyone in a similar situation with how they carry their weight? My normal leggings fit fine still and their both the same size so idk what to do… I can’t really be wearing normal leggings through winter so I need other options, should I just go up a size in the jeggings?

annie1994 · 13/11/2021 10:47

@Elsols93 part of me was thinking I have to just get on with the sickness but I’m glad you said this! Will call GP up Monday morning. Had such bad sickness, nothing yesterday and today it’s back 🤢 I agree I prefer vomiting as it normally gives me a little bit of relief for a bit.

Struggling to stay positive when I feel so sick 😔
