Today is the first day in days that I've been able to eat much at all. The food hasn't touched the sides, I'm ravenous 🤣 just had kfc delivered. Making the most of it while I can cos I know that won't last long

laurenGame · 08/11/2021 21:34

@buttongalore if you can't stomach anything I'd recommend bone broth as it's extremely nutritious, although takes forever to cook and a bit expensive to buy.

What about simple stock or v plain soup? I've gone off food but can stomach stock/broth easily. You get so many vitamins plus stay hydrated from the liquid.

Cold fruit helps me too like strawberries kiwi or mango or mandarins. Keep them in the fridge and they're so soothing, again full of vitamins which is good.

For drinks I love soda water dash on pomegranate juice, a squeezed lime and ice. Drinks nicer than water x

missv556 · 08/11/2021 23:38

@laurenGame definitely agree with fruit. Been loving mango especially. Its light on my stomach, doesn't bloat me

ChrissyAero · 09/11/2021 05:35

Good luck with the scan @laurenGame!

I'm 5+1 today, which is the day I miscarried last time, so today is going to be weird and anxiety inducing. And I'm wide awake already at 5.30am - typical!!!

HMIB · 09/11/2021 07:09

Got these this morning. Can't stop testing 🤦🏼‍♀️. Not overly sure when I'm due. Should be the first week of July I think. Baby number 6 😳. No symptoms so far though. Just sat here waiting for the sickness to kick in 😬.

Due July 2022

Thanks for the mixture of opinions on getting vaccinated. It's good to see differing points on the matter. @MSJK the reason why I haven't had the vaccine yet is simply because the long term effects are unknown i.e. no amount of research now can determine what effects it'll have on our bodies over the years. I'd rather there be some more data on this before deciding to have it. I did actually have Covid when I found out I was pregnant but I know that people have and do get it more than once. Thanks for the website recommendation as well @Maddie2802, I'll definitely take a look. I'm trying to remember if I had the flu jab with my first but I don't think I did. Is it something that's offered all year round or just over the winter? If so, that'll be why - because I wasn't pregnant over the winter last time!!

Good luck today @laurenGame. Really hope they get to the bottom of it all for you!

My nausea is very up and down at the moment. Some days I can eat anything and everything, other days it's just toast. And dinner has to be something I fancy that day, no more pre-planning meals 😂

missv556 · 09/11/2021 08:35

@Cruz86 yesterday my appetite was amazing. I ate more than I would pre pregnancy even. Food wasn't even touching the sides, I was eating every couple of hours. I'm meant to be cooking lasagne tonight but as you said by then I may not want it 😔 it won't go to waste at least, as my fiance takes the leftovers to work for his lunch. Just eating what I can when I can

Cruz86 · 09/11/2021 08:41

It's so frustrating isn't it @missv556!! I'm constantly hungry but just don't fancy much 😩 although I do have a thing about mini rolls at the moment 🤷🏼‍♀️ I hope you do get to enjoy your lasagne later 😂

Tinypeanut1224 · 09/11/2021 08:44

Hey Ladies,

@Effram @Lucylulu1 - Thanks for checking in and sorry for my radio silence!

@laurenGame - I hope you're doing ok love? Me and you sound like we've been having quite similar bleeding. It's such a rollercoaster of emotion isn't it? One minute you feel utter despair and then the next you're feeling hopeful again. Gahhh!

Here's what's been happening with me:
I started spotting last Thursday (4th Oct) - it was mostly brown, sometime tinged red and had a couple of small clots in it. It wasn't ever heavy, it was just on the paper when I wiped.
It then continued on Friday, Saturday and Sunday but was lighter. Again was just brown and only when wiping.
Then Sunday teatime I did a bowel movement and I had to push a bit (sorry tmi) and after this I had red blood. It wasn't heavy, again just when wiping and a little on a panty liner.
Monday morning I had a little more brown spotting and then I went for another BM and had more red blood. It lasted all day but again wasn't ever heavy. I also had some very mild cramping and some backache but I always have backache when pregnant.

I've now woken up today with more brown discharge on wiping but nothing more? I'm so so confused. I did another test yesterday and it was a strong positive so hoping that things are ok? I'm going to do another today to check its not getting lighter. If it looks ok then I'll call the EPU and I'll see if I can book in for a scan on Thursday (6 weeks) and they can hopefully tell me what's going on!

Also congratulations to all the newcomers with their BFPs - hope you're all doing ok! x

RoseBud17 · 09/11/2021 08:46

Can I join? 4+6 and due 13 July. Fell pregnant days after our wedding so everything a bit of a blur. First time mum and feeling completely clueless!

Lucylulu1 · 09/11/2021 08:50

@laurenGame hope the scan goes well for you today. I'll be thinking of you x

I get offered the flu jab every year (as I have asthma), last year was the first time I took them up on the offer (and I'll be having the fly Jan this year as well) and I've had my covid jabs. I'm due my covid booster next week, so I'll definitely be getting that. I want to protect myself and ultimately my baby. So many unvaccinated women are in hospital with covid and are very ill. So I'm personally not taking that risk. DH agrees with me, as it's not just me we need to think about, the baby is also his as well. That's my personal take away from it all.

Lucylulu1 · 09/11/2021 08:54

@Tinypeanut1224 oh hun, I'm so sorry you are going through a stressful time right now. Please get yourself checked out and take it easy. Let us know if you get the Thursday scan. Everything is crossed for you xx

missv556 · 09/11/2021 08:55

@RoseBud17 welcome. I'm a first timer too, you're 3 days ahead of me. You've come to the right place. Everyone here has been lovely since I joined. It's great to have a community to share this experience with 🙂 advice, support and a listening ear for general whinging are all available here 😀

missv556 · 09/11/2021 09:00

@Lucylulu1 I didnt get my second covid vaccine until end of July so I'm not eligible for a booster until February. I'd be in my 2nd trimester by then and most of winter will have passed. I guess until then I just have to be careful?

Cruz86 · 09/11/2021 09:05

It certainly changes perspectives when you've got a little one growing inside of you @Lucylulu1!

@Tinypeanut1224 sorry to hear about your spotting. Have you spoken to epu/midwife/gp about it? Personally I think there's no harm in getting it checked out if you can, just to put your mind at ease.

RoseBud17 · 09/11/2021 09:08

@missv556 thank you! I think it's particularly helpful this early on as you can't really talk to anyone else about it.

Anyone got any good excuses for why you're not drinking? I've got a ton of social events coming up, including work Christmas parties, and want to keep it quiet until I can tell my family all together first. Antibiotics is the only good one!

Lucylulu1 · 09/11/2021 09:13

@missv556 you are double jabbed, which is fantastic....you have so much protection in you already Smile so don't worry too much. I had my jabs in the early rounds because I have a medical condition (sadly). You are in a great position because you are healthy xx

missv556 · 09/11/2021 09:29

@Lucylulu1 just wanna do the best for this kid. It's mental, I've only know about him/her for a few days and yet I'm already willing to do anything to keep them safe and healthy. Lioness mode has been activated 😂

Cruz86 · 09/11/2021 09:41

Wait til they're here and start growing up @missv556! 😂

CaptainCarp · 09/11/2021 09:46

@RoseBud17 can you be designated driver for some?
Some penicillin antibiotics have no drinking 48hrs after finishing the course so gives you a couple of "extra" days if you have some close together. (does depend if these are different sets of friends).

Only other I can think is to of had one of the sickness bugs going around last week & your stomach still being sensitive.

RoseBud17 · 09/11/2021 09:52

@CaptainCarp oooohhhh that's a good idea! It's really no one else's business but I know what my colleagues are like! Planning a big night out with a stay in a hotel - so a sickness bug covers off why I'm not drinking, why I might look queasy and why I'll want to go to bed early! Thank you x

missv556 · 09/11/2021 09:58

@Cruz86 just hope they don't do the things I did in my youth otherwise I'm in trouble 😅

Lucylulu1 · 09/11/2021 10:02

@missv556 oh my goodness, I totally relate! This is my first and I am super vigilant about everything. I don't want to be a crazy mum, but I probably will be 😂

@Cruz86 I'm already dreading the tantrums! 😂

CaptainCarp · 09/11/2021 10:46

@RoseBud17 yes people should just accept "I'm not drinking" but unfortunately if you've always had a drink around them they get suspicious!
Luckily I've currently only got 1 work event but I'll have to drive so no drinks anyway.

missv556 · 09/11/2021 10:51

I'm just watching YouTube videos of other women around 4 weeks pregnant and one said you should avoid salicylic acid. Has anyone else heard that? I use neutrogena face products and now I'm like fuck
