@Lucylulu1

Hi ladies, hope there is room for me please. I got my bfp on Saturday. I used a clear blue early detection and DH was so nervous he made me pee again on a FRER to make sure! 🤣 Well, I'm 36 in a few days and this will be my first child (although I did have a mc when I was 20....a long time ago). So I'm super nervous and hoping it sticks, every twinge I panic. But, I need advice please. I went to register the pregnancy at my GP at lunch. Filled in the forms they gave me and handed them back. I just got an email now saying I'm too early to register and I have to wait until I'm past 6 weeks, then I can self refer online with the hospital. I'm confused, as the NHS website says to register as soon as you find out you are pregnant. Do I now just wait, or shall I just register online directly anyway. I would like to be in the "queue" to see a midwife.
Congrats 👏 and welcome!

I wasn't allowed to register with midwife until past 6 weeks with my previous pregnancy. I still had my booking appointment at around 8 weeks and scan at 12 weeks so it didn't set my appointments back at all. Saying that, do whatever you feel comfortable with, it's your body and your baby 😊

@chitter87 thank you! That really puts my mind at ease. I know that it's super early days for me, but I have no idea what to expect and I get a bit overwhelmed easily. I'll get there eventually.

Effram · 02/11/2021 18:42

@Lucylulu1 If you have the link for online you can probably just do it now if you want to, but the appointments they will assign according to EDD/LMP anyway so you won't be in queue as they'll do appts at the right time! Congrats :)

I had early scan last time I think at 7+something and you could see a heartbeat and little wiggly limb buds!

feliznavidad2 · 02/11/2021 18:55

Anyone experiencing severe bloating (especially after meals?)

I look about 6 months gone, didn't have this the first time around(!) Blush

Pregnancy and parenthood ARE overwhelming, it's stuff you have to learn 'on the job', so please don't worry about not knowing what's coming next. Feel free to ask us, those who have been through it will be happy to help, as well as those who are going through it a few weeks ahead of us 😊 it's a community at the end of the day, experiencing it together.

Hi guys, nervously joining you all...

I think I'm only around 12dpo but I've had positive tests for the last 3 days that have gotten stronger every day. I already have a July 2020 baby and it looks like expected due date would be a couple of days before my DDs 2nd birthday Smile I'm feeling sick already and having lots of twinges, I remember the same happening with DD. Hoping this one sticks!

Tinypeanut1224 · 03/11/2021 07:40

@Elsols93 I had an early scan with my Son at 7 weeks 3 days and I could see the heartbeat. There wasn't much else going on tbh, he looked more like a kidney bean than a baby haha. Was really reassuring though.

Elsols93 · 03/11/2021 08:35

@chitter87 & @Tinypeanut1224 yeah iv been told to expect a little kidney bean with a heart beat 😂 exciting.... @feliznavidad2 iv been having extreme bloating since 12dpo to the point I question my dates haha , still no sickness for me with my DS I was only sick 3 times but suffered with nausea first trimester so hopefully this pregnancy is the same - woke up with some nausea this morning it comes on when I’m hungry or once iv eaten very strange xxx

sle0911 · 03/11/2021 09:08

Congratulations @lustforlife how exciting having a due date so close to DDs birthday, joint parties in the future 😂

Lucylulu1 · 03/11/2021 10:20

@chitter87@Effram thanks so much! I'm totally going to be leaning on this community. I am tempted to pay to get an early scan, just because I am so impatient (it's a problem I have)

Effram · 03/11/2021 10:35

@lustforlife congrats!! I will have 21 month gap if all goes well, my eldest two were due on same date but two years apart, but my first was born 4 weeks early and second nearly 2 weeks late so their birthdays are far apart in the end!

Cruz86 · 03/11/2021 13:00

Honestly @sle0911, I've taken 8 tests in total. I'm bloody obsessed!

@feliznavidad2 yes my bloating is terrible after eating and I also didn't have this with my first either! I already have to try and wear clothes that will cover it up when around family etc 🤦🏼‍♀️

Ah that's a lovely message @chitter87 and so true! I think this thread is going to be a good little community for all of us.

@Lucylulu1 I've booked a private early scan (I'm more paranoid than I was with my first!) which I'm having when I'm around 7 weeks. If you think it'll help, there's no harm in booking one. Just don't do it too early when you run the risk of not being able to see anything just yet!

Cruz86 · 03/11/2021 13:07

All my tests. Plus a digital that has disappeared now 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️

Due July 2022
lustforlife · 03/11/2021 13:08

@Effram thank you!! Aw how did you find the 21month gap? I'm a little nervous about having a two year gap (if everything goes well!) We are currently working on getting our DD to sleep in her own bedroom which isn't going too well

@sle0911 thank you, you too! You're right, would also be handy if this one is a girl tooGrin

lustforlife · 03/11/2021 13:09

@Effram sorry, misread your post! How did you find the 2 year gap?

Elsols93 · 03/11/2021 13:11

@Cruz86 think iv beaten you with the amount. I done 😂😂 iv took about 12 but in my defence 5 of them was within a 24 hour period 😂took my last digital Monday evening just to see 3+ which I did so I’m done with tests for now lol x

Effram · 03/11/2021 13:45

@lustforlife I think it's a lovely gap, actually. My eldest just completely accepted the baby immediately, he doesn't remember a time without him. So although obviously he had some Big Feels, there has never been any jealously directed AT the baby. It was close enough that we were still familiar with all the baby stage stuff, I think I would find it hard to have come out of that and return! They're starting to play together more now which is lovely. The hardest bit was when baby started to crawl and he loves his brother so much so is always going over to him and crawls over his puzzles/knocks over his towers etc, but it's improving and we try to leave them to sort it out themselves unless one is being hurt and they're learning - my oldest will try and find something else to 'extract' (distract!) him with. but I guess this slightly smaller gap will challenge that further!

the baby does sleep through now at least but he's still in our room, we are just having some building work done then we will move him in with his brother when we can shuffle a bit...

Effram · 03/11/2021 13:48

Should say, I found the first couple of weeks hard as it felt like my eldest was still a baby and I was like what have I done to him! but he just was fine that was just me. so at first I said to my husband maybe 2.5 would be better as he'd have more language and he was out of nappies then too. but then when we got there I found 2.5 a tricky age as lots of challenging tantrums and huge developmental leap and we were like imagine if we introduced a new sibling at this point it would be unbearable! so yes I am pro 2 year gap!

chitter87 · 03/11/2021 14:01

With my daughter we set up a FB group for those of us on Mumsnet due at the same time. It's private so no one knew we'd joined and I believe it was invite only. 2 years on we still share tips, pictures, remedies and do a little secret santa each year.

Would anyone be interested in one for our July 22 babies? Or is there one already set up that I could join?

Cruz86 · 03/11/2021 14:13

Hahahah why do we do it @Elsols93?! I got 2-3 on my digi so planning to do another one at the weekend and then I'm done too. I think it's because it happened so quickly, I still can't believe it!!

Yes @chitter87, I would be happy to join a group :)

Trinxsy · 03/11/2021 14:16
