@GlowUp I'm going to try and keep it from them until nearer the 12 week mark as they will tell the whole world 😅

@Missy95 I'm so sorry to hear your news 😢 sending lots of love xxxxxx

Suprima · 01/11/2021 18:39

Had an unwanted early scan today at a private consultation. I was so nervous I felt ill- but had to be done.

Sac is measuring perfectly and is bang on for my dates. Already feel better as I looked behind at this point last time. Lining is thick, cervix is closed. Doctor is v happy.

Left with a progesterone prescription and the go ahead to keep taking 75mg aspirin each day.

It’s not ectopic and should be viable, so we’ll see.

Just having cramps from the transvaginal. They feel like MC pains and I hate it.

GlowUp · 01/11/2021 19:23

@Rp311 my two are the same - they would tell everyone! I'm going to try my best to keep it a secret for a little while yet.

@Suprima sorry to hear about the cramping but everything else sounds really positive x

sle0911 · 02/11/2021 07:37

Morning all, hope everyone's ok, not much to report from me today, the "bleeding" (brown spotting on wiping) stopped yesterday, but have had a tiny bit this morning again! Not too sure what to think, planning on doing a digital in a few days in the hope I get a 2-3 but will see what happens 🤷🏼‍♀️

feliznavidad2 · 02/11/2021 07:54

Fingers crossed for you @sle0911 - I didn't realise I was pregnant as spotted this month from about 9dpo (which I tend to do, annoyingly) still on off pink discharge now but I had this with DS1 (who is now a strapping 4year old) so trying to stay positive 🤞🏻

sle0911 · 02/11/2021 08:01

@feliznavidad2 ah that's reassuring to know 🤞🏼 fingers crossed for both of us! How many weeks are you? X

feliznavidad2 · 02/11/2021 08:09

Very early, just over 4 weeks. EDD of 10/7/22. 😬 Which I think is the same as you?!

feliznavidad2 · 02/11/2021 08:13

Sorry, forgot to tag you @sle0911 x

Tinypeanut1224 · 02/11/2021 08:53

Hi, I was wondering if I can jump in too?
I'm 31 years old and have a 16 month old son. I've had two MCs this year, one at 7weeks in April and one at 5weeks last month. Both of these pregnancies were actually unplanned but the loss last month really knocked me and made me realise that we were actually ready to start TTC #2. We started straight away and I was expecting it to take a while for my body to regulate after the chemical/MC last month but I actually got my BFP last week! I'm very aware that I'm very lucky for this to have happened but also trying not to get too excited due to my previous losses. Would be lovely to join the journey with you ☺️ Based on my dates I think my due date is 7th July 2022 🤩 xxx

sle0911 · 02/11/2021 09:18

@feliznavidad2 ah yeh exactly the same as me!! Reassuring knowing someone is in a similar boat! I have a 9 year old daughter (surprise pregnancy) and it's funny as back then I wouldn't have thought twice about a bit if spotting and I certainly didn't take more than one pregnancy test, quite the opposite to now 😂🙈

Welcome @Tinypeanut1224 and congratulations!! 😍

Effram · 02/11/2021 09:19

Welcome and congrats @Tinypeanut1224 ! everything crossed for you.

chitter87 · 02/11/2021 09:54

I swear we can't win in these early stages - I was freaking out before because I had cramps and now today they've stopped, and I'm now freaking out about that! I caved and did another test earlier and the line came up straight away, but I'm still feeling really nervous!

On a different note - when are you ladies planning on telling immediate family? My partner, daughter and me are actually off on holiday in under 2 weeks time with my parents, we have a few things to celebrate and there will be wine/champagne, so I either need to tell them or come up with a good excuse not to drinking (I would normally have a glass or two at celebrations).

sle0911 · 02/11/2021 10:03

@chitter87 we defo can't win can we 😂 it's an emotional rollercoaster!

I'm not too sure about immediate family, I would like to leave it as late as possible, however the midwife team are based at my GP surgery, and my mum works there 🙈 so not sure how long I'd be able to avoid her for, and she may also see my name on the appointment lists 🤷🏼‍♀️ it's really hard when you'd normally have a drink isn't it, and I think the "antibiotic" trick is a massive giveaway!

Effram · 02/11/2021 10:12

@chitter87 you could still have a glass with a meal without issue - so if you don't want to tell them yet I would accept it and sip and could your partner finish it for you!? Or if you're all off together maybe it would be easier to tell as then you don't need to worry about it, just emphasise its early and still being cautious?

@sle0911 that is quite tricky with the GP ! I guess you could just leave it as long as possible...

I'm not sure when I'll tell my parents, my mum is usually good at guessing these things so may play it by ear, trying to wait until we have had harmony scan and test results which will be early December.

Tinypeanut1224 · 02/11/2021 10:29

Thanks Ladies Smile

Effram · 02/11/2021 10:29

The place where I had my midwife appointments last time is opposite my eldest; s nursery so I am hoping I can book them for just after/before drop off or pick up this time round, would be v convenient! but I think they were only there because of covid so might be somewhere else now. who knows.

In terms of drinking - if you normally only have a couple then maybe you can get away with just sipping and your partner helping? When I was pregnant with my son, if we went out I'd order a G&T and then tell the waiter out of earshot that I just wanted tonic. Tricked everyone!

Im not sure about telling family. I've had two previous losses so I'm a bit more cautious now. I'd ideally like an early scan to check things before I tell everyone ☺️

Completely agree

Had zero symptoms last week, was panicking. At the weekends started having cramps - panicked.

Yesterday started feeling sick and was actually happy as it made me feel like it was a bit more real.

Today - no cramps, no sickness, no tiredness = panicking again Grin

sle0911 · 02/11/2021 11:10

Officially gone mad and taken another test 🙈 has put me at ease slightly though as it's a lot darker than my first test on Sunday afternoon 🤞🏼top one is today and bottom Sunday!

That must be reassuring @sle0911!

I am munching through a pack of ginger nuts to keep the nausea at bay!

Elsols93 · 02/11/2021 13:15

Had my midwife appointment today made it feel very real got my notes ❤️ Feel like a little kid haha also early scan next week at 7weeks 2 days which I’m nervous about has anyone had one that early before? I no il probably just see a wotsit moving about 😂

chitter87 · 02/11/2021 15:47

@sle0911 Oh my, I don't know how you'd work around your mum working at the surgery, that must be quite tricky! Also so glad to see you're feeling more confident after taking another test.

@Effram and @tinypeanut1224 I think you're both right, I should probably accept the drink and just palm it off on the other half when I can. Maybe I could have a bit of a headache too? 😬 I hate the politics of early pregnancy, and having had a few MCs and chemicals I just don't want to jinx anything by announcing too early!

@HotToddyColdSauvignon Right?! It's just a complete rollercoaster of "what ifs". I feel like there's no relaxing until at least 12 weeks!

camvt · 02/11/2021 16:06

@Elsols93 I have a scan booked this Thursday, I'll be 5w6d! Don't know why they booked it so early. Last pregnancy I had one at 6w2d and you can't see much as the baby is so tiny, but I could see the heartbeat and it was so good to have the reassurance. I think you'll definitely be able to see a heartbeat by then x

Lucylulu1 · 02/11/2021 16:14

Hi ladies, hope there is room for me please. I got my bfp on Saturday. I used a clear blue early detection and DH was so nervous he made me pee again on a FRER to make sure! 🤣 Well, I'm 36 in a few days and this will be my first child (although I did have a mc when I was 20....a long time ago). So I'm super nervous and hoping it sticks, every twinge I panic. But, I need advice please. I went to register the pregnancy at my GP at lunch. Filled in the forms they gave me and handed them back. I just got an email now saying I'm too early to register and I have to wait until I'm past 6 weeks, then I can self refer online with the hospital. I'm confused, as the NHS website says to register as soon as you find out you are pregnant. Do I now just wait, or shall I just register online directly anyway. I would like to be in the "queue" to see a midwife.

With my daughter I had a transvaginal scan at 6 weeks and could see heartbeat and an abdominal scan at 7w4d where it was as you described, just a little bean with a heartbeat, it's quite fascinating, enjoy it 😊
