@KHR1 nothing so far! The midwife said I am a little dilated, I think only or 2cm, but babys head is still quite high so not sure if she needs to drop first. I've had some contraction like feelings, kind of feels like my pelvic bones are heavy or going to pop, not sure how else to describe it, but I don't think it's anything really getting going. I'm quite lucky here that hubby can stay as late as he likes (although we both need sleep so it probably won't be too late) and as long as our covid tests are negative they're not too bothered. I'm also in my own room atm which is awesome not having to worry about disturbing someone else.. and i can play my relaxing 80s music 😅

Hope everyone else is doing okay x

KHR1 · 01/09/2021 17:26

@Scotti84 that's great that you've got your own room and hubby can stay late. Round here there are decent visiting times but random one/two hour gaps in between which I'm not sure what DH should do in as it's not really long enough to go home but he's supposed to self-isolate after we have our swabs on Friday so he can't just go and get some food or whatever instead.

Have you got a birthing ball available or anything? Sometimes with induction it looks like it's going nowhere then suddenly seems to pick up - thought I was going to be there for days with DC1 as cervix was only 1cm and still high and hard, head wasn't engaged.

Scotti84 · 01/09/2021 18:10

@KHR1 theres one in the birthing suite but not here. Hubby is under orders to bring ours from home tomorrow. How long did it take for you with DC1? Thats pretty much where i am now, she wont sink!

KHR1 · 01/09/2021 18:30

@Scotti84 that's a shame they don't have them in the induction bit, good that your hubby can bring one in though.
With DC1 I think I had the pessary at 8am, waters broke naturally at 5-6pm, drip at 10pm and then she was born 5am the next morning

SillyBry · 01/09/2021 19:55

@Scotti84 sounds like everything is going in the right direction at least! A private room sounds MARVELLOUS! Well done you! 😉

My mum paid for me to have a “spa pedicure” today… so a lower leg massage and pedi. It was amazing! And the lovely lady gave my fingernails a shape and bit of paint too for free… feel wonderfully relaxed.

Although I have really sharp lower back pain this evening. Lying on the sofa feels awful… I’m about to relocate to the gym ball to try and get comfy. Several people have commented on how my bump has dropped and I look ready! 🤷🏻‍♀️

LittleAurora · 01/09/2021 21:38

I'm so excited, my community midwife did her home visit yesterday. My home birth pack will be delivered on Friday and they will be officially on call for my labour!!! Can't wait to meet this little man!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

SP2Bx · 01/09/2021 21:53

Oh perrrfect @Scotti84 👌🏼 Hopefully not too much longer to wait 🥰

That's lovely news @LittleAurora - speaking of home births, are any first time mums planning a home birth? I found out today at 37 weeks that it's not too late if I did want one as everything seems to be going well and I'm kind of considering it!

leftitlate37 · 01/09/2021 21:58

Hope everything going OK @Scotti84!!!
Our little boy arrived yest PM after induction as nothing happened naturally once waters had gone! Relieved he's here but now entirely clueless as to what I'm doing ! Still in hosp and OH had to go home but amazing support from all the midwives which is such a relief!! Hope all those with babas doing well and all those waiting are OK....Happy 1st Sept!!! Its time :)

AdventuresAwait · 01/09/2021 22:13

Congratulations @leftitlate37! Xx

MrsTD88 · 01/09/2021 22:17

Congratulations @leftitlate37 and @Bubbles1st

bewitchingnight · 01/09/2021 22:19

Congratulations @leftitlate37 !

Squibble84 · 01/09/2021 22:35

Congratulations @leftitlate37 and @Bubbles1st! Babies are coming in thick and fast now!

@SillyBry how did your scan go - everything looking ok?

My bumped has dropped massively in the last two days and looks a lot smaller as well, when I feel my bump, it’s like I can feel the outline of my baby so I’m hoping that’s a sign things are on their way! Really want to have my vbac before my c-section date! 🤞🤞

LauEli · 01/09/2021 22:44

@leftitlate37 congratulations 😁

crobo87 · 01/09/2021 23:33

Hi all,

Missed a few days as I've spent quite a bit of time in hospital.
Congratulations to everyone who has given birth recently.

I had my last growth scan Monday and baby's weight has unfortunately dropped quite significantly and he's turned back breech 🤦🏼‍♀️. I'm pretty much over COVID except I am sooooo tired, I need to sleep all the time.
I'm in for daily CTG monitoring for the next 5 days which is a bit of a pain getting to the hospital everyday but hey ho.

I have been booked in for a cesarean on Tuesday at 37+3 😬
I go in sat & sun for steroids and the that's it.
I'm very nervous about the section.

Krista1991 · 02/09/2021 02:15

Hello,girls 💖

My waters went last night at 22.00,went to the hospital with the mild contractions, they put the pessary in and now will try to rest and will see how the things are going 🥺🎉

Scared and exiting at the same time 🥰

Krista1991 · 02/09/2021 02:16

I must say I am at the hospital 😇

LauEli · 02/09/2021 04:32

@crobo87 hope your ok! Not ideal getting to hospital everyday if its not convenient but best place to be. And looks like they have a good plan in place 😊 won't be long and you'll have baby in your arms and all be worth it

LauEli · 02/09/2021 04:32

@Krista1991 exciting hope all goes well 😄

Bubbles1st · 02/09/2021 07:00

Congratulations @leftitlate37

Good luck to everyone who is is labour or soon to be!

Lorenzo is still in SCBU I was medically discharged at 24 hours (which I can't quite believe 🥴) however it was because there was a family room for me so I am on SCBU 24/7 which obviously I appreciate greatly as I know not everyone is as fortunate.

Lorenzo is getting better and stronger in one sense which is great but unfortunately he has ended up with a feeding tube so our next challenge is feeding and getting him self sufficient.
Which means our original 48 hour precautionary stay is going to be extended. Hopefully not beyond 5 days but at present no one can of course predict.

We are so in love though and he is taking it all
In his stride

LauEli · 02/09/2021 07:11

@Bubbles1st oh he's gorgeous 😍 bless him hopefully he'll master the feeding and you'll be home soon 😁

SillyBry · 02/09/2021 07:25

@leftitlate37 congratulations! From my first, I would say just keep asking the hospital staff for help… they are always busy, but they will always find time to help with feeding etc! And trust your instincts- you’ve got this 🥰

@Squibble84 finally got in for my scan Tuesday late afternoon… they measured baby at 8lb2oz already.. so I’m sure they need to be concerned that baby isn’t growing/too small 😬😳🤣🤣
Everything looked just fine - they were very happy. Commented how “lovely and low” baby is in the pelvis, to which I was like “yes, I can feel!” 🤣
So they sent me home and said they’d hope to see me back soon in labour!

bluemagicalsky · 02/09/2021 08:30

Hi @SP2Bx I'm 37+2, a FTM and having a home birth. I decided at my 36 week appointment. I had always considered it and really loved hearing about it at my hypnobirthing course, but just didn't quite have the nerve. That was until my midwife told me I was the perfect candidate at my 36 week appt! I just needed that last bit of encouragement to give me the confidence. And honestly, I feel so much happier and excited now I've made the decision, definitely right for me. Let us know what you decide ☺️

SP2Bx · 02/09/2021 10:05

Congratulations @leftitlate37 ! And great news @SillyBry , hopefully baby stays put until your little one is settled in school now!

Thanks @bluemagicalsky , that sounds exactly like me. We've done hypnobirthing too and so my plan was always to try and create a home-birth style environment in the alongside MLU "just in case" with being a first timer, but now I'm thinking why not just go for it?! Called the home birth team this morning for more info and got more details/felt more cared for in that 15 min chat than at all so far! And they're coming out to visit us this afternoon! Will keep you posted :)

bluemagicalsky · 02/09/2021 12:06

@SP2Bx Ah that's brilliant, what a fantastic turn around. Sounds really positive. If you do go for it and want to get a birth pool, I used the company Barefoot Birth Pools to hire one. They were really friendly and accommodating for a last minute hire.

Squibble84 · 02/09/2021 12:21

That’s good news @SillyBry! I’ve got my growth scan tomorrow and think I’m growing an 8Iber too if the baby’s growth hasn’t slowed!

@Bubbles1st he’s so gorgeous!! 🥰

@crobo87 sorry it’s been so stressful for you but at least they have a plan in place. I had an emergency section 2 years ago and even in a rushed situation, it was fine, an elective is meant to be much more relaxed as well!

Good luck @Krista1991!

Is anyone else going for a vbac on here?
