CherLW · 26/08/2021 17:02

@Noodles4Me he definitely will be! He’s a foodie already!!
So exciting tho!! Xx

RadDarwazeh · 26/08/2021 17:12

I'm really sad to hear midwife appointments aren't going well with some of you :(

Mine meticulously went line by line through my plan at 34 weeks. And booked an hour slot with her to discuss it with me and DH. She also said what was realistic, what wasn't and what could be accommodated. Hmm.

I think it's worth pushing for another appt with your respective midwives or another midwife from the team at your chosen hospital/GP

Hope your next appointments go better girls.

Also, this group is fab I feel so not alone here. Never feel alone, those who have had their little ones already 💕

@CherLW such exciting news, congratulations!!

I feel like this week has been a whirlwind. I’m now off work and had plans to do lots of fun stuff with my daughter before starting school. But she’s had a nasty cold and has been wiped out, so I’ve had sleepless nights. The worst, I think I saw midnight, 1.30, 3, 4,30 and then she was up at 6.30… it was genuinely like having a newborn. But one that answers back 🤣🤣 I was like I don’t really need practise on the sleepless nights thanks!!
But her cough is clearing a bit and we all had a better night last night so the fug is clearing a little.

I have my 38 week check tomorrow and (this sounds awful) I’m looking forward to it as I’ll be out of the house on my own for a few hours 🤣🤣
38.5 weeks and don’t feel as though baby has dropped yet. My first was a due date baby but I wonder if I might go over with this one?

bewitchingnight · 26/08/2021 17:27

Congratulations @CherLW that's brilliant! Welcome Jesse 💙 hope you both have a good night and home tomorrow x

CobleCloud · 26/08/2021 17:51

KHR1 · 26/08/2021 18:25

Congratulations @CherLW

Squibble84 · 26/08/2021 18:28

@CherLW congratulations! What a gorgeous name! Hope you’re both doing well!! Xx

@SillyBry glad your daughter is getting better! I’m with you on enjoying going to appointments as it gives me a break from my toddler who is an endless ball of energy. I can’t sit down on the couch for a second before she’s dragging me off to play with her! 😅

CherLW · 26/08/2021 18:30

Thank you everyone, I struggled so much with boys names but it fits his currently chilled personality so perfectly 💙

unicornpower · 26/08/2021 19:26

Congratulations @CherLW what a gorgeous name! I’m glad you’re feeling okay and I hope you get to go home tomorrow ❤️

Joey86 · 26/08/2021 19:29

Looks like it's been a busy few days since I've been on here!
I went in for my pessary this morning, I'm an outpatient as it's an elective induction. Got to go back at 24hrs, which is 10:30am tomorrow, unless I go into labour before then obviously.
Had lots of period type pain, and contractions. Haven't timed them, they're not really painful. I'll get a phonecall at the 12hr mark tonight to check up on me.
I've had a trapped nerve in my back since yesterday morning, which is absolute agony. Honestly, I'm so pissed off at it 😂 Typical, I'm taking paracetamol for a trapped nerve, because it's more painful than early labour pains! 🤦🏼‍♀️

FTEngineerM · 26/08/2021 19:31

@CherLW congratulations ❤️ I love the name too!

@Kirky658 thanks, it was the community one I was on about aswell, maybe it’s a thing😩. Luckily movements have been fine otherwise I’d have been up the labour ward getting checked out regardless 😂.

@Squibble84 I feel yah! My toddler is like that too, he needs to run around all the time and destroy play with toys 🤭🙈

Kirky658 · 26/08/2021 19:58

@cherlw congratulations and gorgeous name! Xx

Squibble84 · 26/08/2021 20:06

Good luck @Joey86! I hope the trapped nerve eases off as well, that’s the last thing you need!

@FTEngineerM it’s exhausting isn’t it! I’m hoping that having a toddler and a newborn won’t be quite as draining as being heavily pregnant with a toddler but that’s probably wishful thinking! 😅

Joey86 · 26/08/2021 20:34

@FTEngineerM I can confirm that (for me) having a newborn and toddler is much preferable to being pregnant and looking after a toddler! There's just under 3yrs between my first two.
Although my pregnancies are SO horrible that anything is better than being pregnant. Having a newborn is hard, but at least they aren't inside your body! And you can hug your toddler so close!! The first time my 2yo straddled my lap for a hug, and I realised I could squeeze him was amazing!! (That was before my milk came in, so I didn't have sore boobs yet either!) 💞

MrsTD88 · 26/08/2021 21:01

Congratulations @CherLW amazing news 💙

@RadDarwaceh I've been really lucky with my midwife too. Had a good chat at 34 weeks and booked in to go through everything properly at 36 weeks. She said even though I'm a second time mum and having a planned section it is still important to note down my wishes regarding pain relief after, skin to skin, Vit K etc and even things such as wanting my daughter to be my second designated visitor. (My hospital allow 2 designated visitors at the moment which is usually 2 birth partners but just having my husband as birth partner.)

LauEli · 26/08/2021 21:05

@Mamabearwhere thank you for the new thread 😁 I have my 36 week app on Thursday with a different mw as my usual is annual leave. Usual has said I can discuss birth plan with the stand in or wait till 38 weeks 🙄 she helpfully directed me to the NHS birth plan website though.
So glad I know what I do and don't want and my husband is very much aware too, and will advocate for me if Labour two goes like Labour 1 😂

@CherLW congratulations, love his name! Hope your both doing OK 🥰

2021mumma · 26/08/2021 22:33

Baby boy born today by csection (we haven’t got name yet) all went well. He is 8lbs 6 my biggest baby abs is so scrummy lying on my chest soaking him all in. He has fed well too unlike the last one who was tongue tied, long may it continue 🤞🏼🤞🏼

Hopefulmummie · 26/08/2021 22:53

Congratulations @CherLW and @2021mumma such lovely news :)

Last day of work tomorrow for.me before maternity starts. Can't believe how quick it's came in

Joey86 · 26/08/2021 22:55

@2021mumma hooray! Congratulations! Nothing happening here, so we won't have birthday twins after all! Hope you have a wonderful first night x

SP2Bx · 26/08/2021 22:57
