@Krista1991 yep that alongside constant peeing and being woken up by acid reflux too when I actually manage to drift off.

Kirky658 · 29/08/2021 16:47

Sorry for not keeping up ladies, hope everyone is OK, we've been rushed off our feet since we got home, exhausted but happy x

Squibble84 · 29/08/2021 17:57

@Kirky658 glad you’re finally home! Hope you and baby are settling in ok!

Anyone else feel like their bump is all baby now?! 😅 I feel like all my organs are so squished, I eat the smallest meal and fee so uncomfortable and stuffed! So ready for baby to come now!

Historyl0ver · 29/08/2021 18:43

Hello everyone, hope you’re all doing well.

Please could I be added - expecting DD on 19/09/21 Smile

bewitchingnight · 29/08/2021 19:20

@Kirky658 so happy to hear you're all at home, hope you are doing well x

@Squibble84 yes, me! Bump seems to be expanding by the hour and everything is squashed! I was just saying to DH how I feel like so much has changed in the last couple of weeks, I'm so uncomfortable now!

FTEngineerM · 29/08/2021 19:24

@Scotti84 re: spinal everyone’s body and labour/birth will be different so whilst it’s really good to know what it can be like for others it will be different for you and there’s no way of knowing until it happens ❤️ I know there’s no point in saying don’t worry because that’s all we do at this point right?! 🙈😂

Yes @Squibble84 I feel like I’m baby from
boob to butt now 🥺. 38 weeks today and I’m dreading the thought there could be another 4 more weeks 😲

Kirky658 · 29/08/2021 19:55

@scotti84 I had a spinal for my c section and honestly I was terrified. But it was fine! They numbed my back with loads of cooling spray and then put the spinal in and I didn't feel a thing. Numb from the boobs down and after about an hour I had some sensation in my legs and could wiggle them - the anaesthetists were very surprised! They gave me the spinal as it was an emergency and it works faster than an epidural xx

Mamabearwhere · 29/08/2021 20:08

Yes @Squibble84 I’m basically a walking bump, not very tall either so my bump has overtaken basically.

I’m getting loads of back cramps today, the kind you get before a period and I really hope it’s the start of something. I’m 37+2 and so ready !

Hope everyone is doing well!
Nearly 39 weeks here... good news, baby is 3/5 engaged and the midwife was really happy with movements and heartbeat at my check on Friday.
Annoyingly, my bump measured no bigger than at 36 weeks, so I've been triggered to have an emergency growth scan/within 72 hours. However, the bank holiday weekend is playing havoc with that. The hospital called me yesterday and said I'll be first on the list if they get a space over the weekend. So I just have to keep my phone on me!

Definitely feeling less comfortable now - turning in bed is a SERIOUS maneuvre now. And I'm definitely entering survival mode. I think I have retired my running shoes as the last run was bloody hideous!
I've come out in cold sores, just to make me feel better about myself too!

My mum has paid for me to have a pedicure on Wednesday, which seems like a wonderful indulgence. I can't wait! But I have got 2 days to survive looking after my daughter after hubby goes back to work and before she starts school, so that's going to be exhausting I think.
Selfishly, I'm hoping I can hold the baby in until my daughter starts school so I can have a couple of days to myself at least!

Bubbles1st · 29/08/2021 20:43

Just to let everyone know I am
Aiming to do an updated list tomorrow for the meeting ladies and the births.
However I am in for my section Tuesday so after this I'm not going to be able to keep
On top of the messages as well. If anyone due towards end of September would like to step in please do.

Also don't forget we have the birth club and I'll see some of you over their soon !

FTEngineerM · 29/08/2021 20:58

Not selfish @SillyBry DS is going to nursery next week for 3 days and I’m planning to be horizontal the whole time 🤭😂.

@Bubbles1st how exciting, not long at all! I hope all goes well, let us know it goes, when you can obviously.

Scotti84 · 29/08/2021 21:10

@FTEngineerM @Kirky658 thanks ladies. Im trying not to worry too much cos in the end if they say a c section is the better option and give me a date i will just go with it and just deal with what I have to deal with as it comes. As long as i can listen to Bon Jovi throughout i can get through anything 🤣

Due date tomorrow, so will hopefully have a plan after the hospital appt then!

@Bubbles1st dont worry about the list, you have much more important things on your mind, can't wait to hear your update after Tuesday!

Moominmiss · 29/08/2021 21:12

@Scotti84 just to let you know after all my sections I was only numb a short time and was up and about gently walking on the ward in 5-6 hours post surgery. I was out of hospital in just over 24 hours so definitely not numb for anywhere near 36 hours. I had a spinal with my 2 electives, and with my first emcs I had an epidural that was topped up. Both situations the numbness was worn off by 6 hours.
It perhaps differs in trusts.

JasVL · 30/08/2021 03:23

After a long 4 days and a failed induction, our baby was born at 12:20pm on the 29th August via c section.

We had a little girl, Amelia. She's absolutely perfect💖

She's had to be taken to the nicu as she hasn't been feeding properly. They've given her antibiotics so will be a minimum 48 hour stay in nicu.

Recovering well and they wheeled me down to see her a few hours ago!

AdventuresAwait · 30/08/2021 04:28

Congratulations @JasVL and welcome to the world Amelia! Xx

Kirky658 · 30/08/2021 05:24

Squibble84 · 30/08/2021 05:57

@JasVL congratulations!! Hopefully you’re both home having snuggles soon! 💕💝

I’m right there with all the other ladies struggling with insomnia! Although this mornings 5am wake up was actually due to DD1! 😭

KHR1 · 30/08/2021 08:18

Sceptre86 · 30/08/2021 08:23
