Congratulations @2021mumma !!
Happy last work day @Hopefulmummie and @SP2Bx I finished last Friday and although strange this week has been bliss!

D0nut · 27/08/2021 07:44

Congratulations @CherLW @2021mumma!!

Happy last work days! I’ve just had 2 weeks off but I’m back in work for 2 weeks from next week. My blood pressure keeps being high though so I am going to try to cut work down as much as I can.

Bubbles1st · 27/08/2021 08:03

Morning ladies! I just want to share my news because I'm happy !

Yesterday I went to the hospital for monitoring as I was getting work up about not feeling movements and getting confused with tightness and aches making moves harder to even detect.

Midwife was lovely and reassuring, of course baby is fine. She will be the one on duty who tries to give my sweep on Saturday and she answered some other questions I've been losing sleep over. As much as I didn't want to head in or be a nuisance it did me the world of good ahead of my section next week if no appearance before then.

Then as if this wasn't good enough, last night was our third night in our new bedroom and with our dogs now banished and sleeping down stairs instead of with us...they went through the night with out crying or needing to go out. Hoping it wasn't just a fluke and expect baby arriving might change things short term again but I didn't come down until 7.45! On top of that I only got up for 2 wees.

I feel like I might have a few relaxing days ahead after all right before he arrives.

I will update the lists with the new birth and any new joiners I've managed to catch but don't forget ladies there is now a birth club thread if you want to head over too for more post baby stuff!

I can't wait for the transition myself 😄

KHR1 · 27/08/2021 08:31

Congratulations @2021mumma

Happy last day of work to all those finishing today!

Rach921 · 27/08/2021 08:33

Thanks for the new thread. I’ve got my 36 week midwife appointment today so am intrigued after everyone else’s experiences! She mentioned to me it’s booked as a double appointment so we have more time to go through everything, so we shall see!

LauEli · 27/08/2021 08:35

@2021mumma congratulations 😁 hope your doing well!

@Bubbles1st sounds like heaven, glad your feeling happy. Its so lovely when you meet a decent midwife. I had two during my labour, the night mw wasn't the best, but the day mw who I delivered with was the absolute best!

All these births are making it all real and exciting 🥰 hope everyone's OK

Joey86 · 27/08/2021 09:34

Rubbish night. Trapped nerve in my back was so painful, I was taking paracetamol and using volterol gel, had to sit up all night because the paracetamol made my reflux bad.
Contractions a useless 7-20 mins apart, enough to annoy me, but not enough to do anything helpful.
Need to head to the hospital in an hour to have the pessary removed.
It only occured to me this morning that perhaps my diastasis recti is causing the contractions to be ineffective, the baby just isn't getting a good squeeze. And my bump is so big and slung forward it's like a hammock for him, so he's not engaging.
😭😭😭😭😭

FTEngineerM · 27/08/2021 09:38

@2021mumma congratulations 🥳 ❤️

@Bubbles1st it’s great you trusted your gut instinct and got some reassurances, hopefully the next few days will be relaxing for you. Super cool about the dogs being good for you, if it’s any consolation ours actually prefers sleeping downstairs now because it’s quieter and he gets a whole nights undisturbed sleep🙈🤭.

SP2Bx · 27/08/2021 09:43

Great news @Bubbles1st - fingers crossed for a few more chill days for you!

Oh @Joey86 that does sound frustrating! Hopefully you can express your concerns at the hospital and they can do something to get things moving a bit more ❤️

@Rach921 I got told I had a double appointment booked last time too but, god knows what for 🙈 really hope you have a much better experience! I think I'm just going to ask at my 38 week one to go through my plan as it'll be written by then.

Newmum110 · 27/08/2021 09:55

Last day of work, can't wait to put my feet up!!!!!
Feel unprepared though in that my hospital isn't very good so don't have much information only go to the hospital when necessary!!!!! No birthing plan etc just said I can write my own if I want.
Anyways if I have learned one thing we can't plan for everything so maybe better not to have too much planned!!!!!
Congrats to all of those who have had their lovely babies, I'm dreaming about mine every night.

Noodles4Me · 27/08/2021 10:42

Congrats @2021mumma. Enjoy! And I can't recommend Ibuprofen enough Grin

FTEngineerM · 27/08/2021 11:25

Also just reading back @Joey86 thank you for the insight, that’s what is getting me through at the moment. The guilt is real but I know that’s just in my head and it’ll be better when I can move around more and have more energy.

JasVL · 27/08/2021 12:31

Congratulations @2021mumma!!

@Joey86 same here, having an awful time with the induction. Had the pessary in at 2pm yesterday, by 7pm I was having painful contractions but manageable by walking / bouncing on the ball.

Got monitored continuously from 9pm - 1am as I was having 6 contractions in 10 minutes with no break in between them. Baby's heart rate was very high so they think they were getting stressed.

Pessary ended up coming out at 1am, turns out I was only 1cm dilatedConfused they left me overnight with some cocodamol and slowly the contractions have eased off.

Saw the consultant at 9am this morning and they wanted to give it another go now baby's heart rate has settled and contractions pretty much stopped.

2nd pessary in at 9:30am, so fingers crossed in 24 hours it can come out and we can break my waters! They've said if I start contracting too quick again then we'll have to try 'alternative measures' - not sure if this means a c section!

Tokyo87 · 27/08/2021 13:00

Thank you for the new thread and Congratulations to all those who have had babies these past few days 💕 it's getting hard to keep up now!

BabyNoah22 · 27/08/2021 16:44

Hello ladies! I'm very excited to join you for a September baby! I'm expecting a baby boy, due 22nd

Joey86 · 27/08/2021 17:44

@JasVL I came home, and gave up on the induction. The pessary didn't do anything to my cervix, it's still 2cm dilated, and the contractions didn't develop into anything proper, so I just don't think my body is ready.
They offered ARM, but I declined. My anxiety is too bad at the thought I might still not go into active labour, and then in 24hrs I'll have to have a C-section.
I just need a break from this on edge, expectant, not knowing. My 9yo is really tearful, and I just want to be home with him. If this latent labour turns into active labour by itself then great, if not then I will deal with it until maybe 41weeks, and agree to ARM, as by then my anxiety about menconium will probably override my fear of C-section! Confused

MrsMcNtobe · 27/08/2021 17:44

@Newmum110 I’m starting to think maybe we are all asking too much by wanting a birth plan 😂 like I said before totally get that these things probably never go to plan but it’s nice for someone to spend some time discussion options etc!
What date are you due?

JasVL · 27/08/2021 18:03

@Joey86 oh no!! I've got a feeling I haven't dilated any more either!!

That's completely understandable, it is very traumatic I think!

Not sure what the plan is for me yet, they're going to monitor me tonight and check my cervix in the morning then decide.

It is awful not knowing and not having any control over it all.

Sending love!

Newmum110 · 27/08/2021 20:20

@MrsMcNtobe I am due on the 14th. Very much of the opinion of what will be will be but definitely feel for people who are more anxious because the support definitely isn't there. I'm kind of wondering if the staff are stretched with all the lockdown babies or if its always like this??!!

Suma2021 · 27/08/2021 20:29

Last to the party here...was wondering why the other thread was so quiet then realised there's a new one, dohh! Major pregnancy brain moment! 🙈
@Mamabearwhere Thanks for creating 🙂

I had my 36 week appointment yesterday and it ended up being exactly the same as the others sigh. Scribbling away the notes but not actually telling me things, I have to ask "Oh is my BP all OK?" "Growth normal?" Etc! I did ask questions regarding a birth plan and was told the NHS has a template I could use if I wanted, but that it's not too important as I'll end up discussing verbally my preferences when things happen. I've checked out the NHS template, don't like it much so will probably stick to my own variation. Wasn't in the mood to be terribly assertive about the lack of information at the time, but now I'm slightly peeved off as now have to go to a completely different health centre and midwife for my 38 week appointment, and again a totally different clinic / midwife for the 40 week appointment. I don't understand why I come away from each appointment feeling so rushed. Been told baby is 1/5 engaged though so that's good though!

@CherLW @2021mumma
Congratulations!!!!!! You must be so pleased and in love! I hope you're both feeling okay.💙🥳

Does anyone have what feels like one constant Braxton Hicks after walking 5-10min? My stomach turns into a rock and gets really uncomfortable and feels like someone is sitting on my bladder!
Started getting dull period pains now, not often though. And I had such a vivid dream last night that my waters were breaking, woke up and was convinced it had actually happened!

MrsMcNtobe · 27/08/2021 20:34

@Newmum110 oh wow due date twins! I think you could be right and staff really could be stretched just now!

@Suma2021 sorry to hear your appointment was the same as a lot of us 😢 I’m due back next Friday for my 38 week (I’ll be 38+3) and tbh I’m expecting urine, BP and baby heartbeat check and then just to be given a date for my next appointment.
I’m also not sure what braxton hicks feel like, I’ve had period pain on and off for a few days and it’s been quite constant today and a few tightenings at the top of my stomach?

heygirlhey · 27/08/2021 20:34

Hey could I be added please, DD 19th Sept ☺️
