Hi @Newmum110 I’m booked in for a c-section but that’s on my own request prior to having high blood pressure. My consultant in the blood pressure clinic has said I could still give birth vaginally if I wanted (I don’t want to) and she’s given no indication that a c-section would be preferable in my case. They are supportive of my decision but for my own reason rather than my BP.

Newmum110 · 13/09/2021 21:25

Thanks everyone x

crobo87 · 13/09/2021 21:30

@Newmum110 the section was due to him being breach. I was due to be induced at 37 weeks due to the high Bp had he been head down but we ended up with an emergency section unrelated to the blood pressure the day before I turned 37 weeks.

Ladies I am so stressed! Due date tomorrow, no real sign of baby except constant braxton hicks and achy lower back and I've now got bloody thrush! It's plagued me throughout the whole pregnancy but disappeared and returned at the worst time. I'm so worried about passing it on my baby and making him sick as soon as he's born. I can get a pessary tomorrow but it usually leaves a mess the following days - what if it goes all over baby during labour? Has anyone delivered with thrush here? Need your advice please.

RadDarwazeh · 13/09/2021 22:55

@marshmallowmode I also feel physically limited ! Tired from just walking round the house let alone what I wanna do like clean skirting boards and lampshades which is ridiculous 🤣

RadDarwazeh · 13/09/2021 22:56

@Taybz oh love I have no advice but sending positive thoughts your way

FTEngineerM · 14/09/2021 15:20

Oh no @Taybz that must be maddening, have you spoken to your midwife? I don’t know what giving birth with thrush is like but symptoms can clear quickly if medicated so I’d definitely get on that ASAP.

I still have nothing happening 🧐40+2, called MAU earlier though because I’ve been really swollen last few days and like a stinging sensation in my skin because there’s so much fluid. I weighed…. 5kilos I’ve put on, in 12 days 👀😬. They said that’s fine though????? What am I going to be like next week.

Taybz · 14/09/2021 18:27

Thanks @RadDarwazeh x
@FTEngineerM I've called the hospital midwife and they've suggested to treat it with a pessary so will try that tonight. Your swelling sound worrying - have they suggested anything for it? Hope it gets better. Oh the glamour of pregnancy!

Newmum110 · 14/09/2021 18:57

Being induced tomorrow, very nervous but hopefully won't be too bad!!!!! Best of luck to everyone who are expecting arrivals over the next few weeks.

Mamabearwhere · 14/09/2021 19:35

Hi everyone. My second sweep yesterday did the job and baby boy arrived this morning. Didn’t manage to make it to my ever so wanted epidural due to speed of labour and birth but we are already home and so in love! Feels so good not to be pregnant anymore.

Good luck to all the mamas still waiting. Sending positive vibes your way xx

Hope all goes well @Newmum110

Hope the pessary gets things cleared up for you asap @Taybz

@FTEngineerM you'd think they would want to keep en eye on the swelling, sorry that they weren't more helpful

After 4 days of induction, Baby Billie entered the world yesterday morning! She’s an absolute dream except she will not sleep unless it’s on me (or I’m nearby) so we are taking shifts until my milk properly comes in.

Started the induction Thursday morning, had one pessary which was left in for 36 hours which softened my cervix slightly but nothing more, had another pessary the following day which started contractions (or I thought) and I was so uncomfortable and felt really ‘full’ down below. I was examined the next day and had the pessary out and whilst the midwife was examining me, my waters broke! I have excess fluid so it went everywhere, it was all up my back, the floor, bed, everywhere, and then they went again about an hour later!

Got moved to labour ward and had the hormone drip, contractions got intense quickly and I was so glad I ordered an epidural, gas and air was fine but I don’t like how drunk I felt! If anyone is having the drip then I would 100% get an epidural, the contractions are stronger and I found it unbearable very early. I was checked for dilation and had gone from 1cm to 10cm in four hours! About 30 mins of pushing later and she was out 😂 my placenta wouldnt come out so I had a doctor quite literally put her arm up me and pull it out! Apparently the surgery team all cheered when my placenta got wheeled out as they were prepping to surgically remove it!

It was all fine and we are at home recovering and finding our feet together ❤️

AdventuresAwait · 15/09/2021 06:57

Congratulations @unicornpower and welcome to the world Billie! Xx

Kirky658 · 15/09/2021 07:38

@mamabearwhere @unicornpower congrats to you both, hope everyone is well ❤️

Weird to think today is our Alice's original due date!

showmorekindness · 15/09/2021 08:08

Congratulations to all the new arrivals!

Just wondering for those who have just had babies, or second time mums still waiting... did baby's movements increase right before labour started?

The last 1-2 weeks my babies movements have increased massively. She is so strong and they can be really painful sometimes, feels like she is trying to fight her way out of my side! I've not heard of increased movements as a sign of impending labour so I was just wondering what other's experience was. I'm currently 39wks.

FTEngineerM · 15/09/2021 08:33

Congratulations @unicornpower and @Mamabearwhere glad you’re both home with your babies!

Tokyo87 · 15/09/2021 09:02

Congratulations @unicornpower and @Mamabearwhere 💕 hearing all these birthing stories is helping me to feel much more prepared mentally!

Quick question, for those that have given birth naturally would you recommend something to spray/use down there afterwards? I've been looking at the Spritz for Bits from Boots but it's pretty expensive for what you get and there's always the chance I could need an emergency c-section. Not sure how painful to expect things to be after

D0nut · 15/09/2021 09:39

Congratulations @unicornpower!!

@showmorekindness I’m 38w 5d and also feel more movement or maybe more accurately that the movements hurt more! Im also sometimes soooo uncomfortable. I’m booked for a c section on Monday and hope she stays put until then.
