Congrats to the new mums! Had my midwife appt today 38+3 and bump isn’t growing much so have been referred for growth scan in the next few days - Is this something I should be concerned about??

bewitchingnight · 09/09/2021 19:04

Sweep yesterday did the trick! Waters broke at 2am and Clementine Isobel was born at 6.37am this morning, she is 6lb 8. Can't believe how fast it was!

Mamabearwhere · 09/09/2021 19:06

@Taybz why don’t you give them a call and explain (and mention the nails) - they may ask you to go in and be checked. Have you got any signs of labour coming? Apart from a bad back I have nothing so far.

@NommyChompers I went though this a couple of weeks ago, all turned out fine. The bump measurements they do with the tape measure is never great/accurate so more often than not the scan shows everything to be fine. Fingers crossed for you x

Good to hear positive sweep stories!

@Mamabearwhere thanks - fingers crossed I get the same reassurance soon! Glad it was all fine for you!

primhutch · 09/09/2021 19:23

@bewitchingnight Amazing! Her name is beautiful - congratulations 💕

Are you home already? X

AdventuresAwait · 09/09/2021 20:07

Congratulations @bewitchingnight and welcome Clementine Isobel! xx

marshmallowmode · 09/09/2021 20:24

Gosh so much to catch up on! Congratulations to all the ladies who have had their babies 🎉🎉🎉

I'm 37 weeks now and I've been having mild period like pains since 36 weeks, mostly at night. Hoping it's a sign my body is slowly preparing itself. I say slowly because I don't finish work until tomorrow and I'd like at least a week to sort my life out before baby arrives 😂

I'm a bit of an emotional wreck at the moment. Doesn't take much to start me crying over nothing, cried over a misshapen cake the other day...

bewitchingnight · 09/09/2021 20:47

Thanks guys! Staying in one night as they are checking the baby's blood sugars over 24 hours but all been fine so far so hopefully home tomorrow 🤞🏻 it's been a crazy and wonderful day ❤️

SP2Bx · 09/09/2021 21:08

Aw congratulations @bewitchingnight , that's wonderful news 🥰

And to you @ame88!

Hopefulmummie · 09/09/2021 23:00

Congratulations to everyone who has had their baby today ❤️

I've been back down in admissions since 6pm as blood pressure was high again today so told me to come down.
Done 5 blood pressure readings and all still high so waiting to see the Dr to see what they want to do. My hospital is so busy atm they've already came out and explained it could be a while before Drs are available :(

MrsTD88 · 09/09/2021 23:33

Congratulations @bewitchingnight 💖

@Hopefulmummie oh no that's such a long time to be waiting. You must be knackered, is your other half allowed to wait with you?

Hopefulmummie · 09/09/2021 23:38

@MrsTD88 he's only allowed in when I'm called into room.. Been sent back out after monitoring to wait on Dr but been waiting since 8pm on my own :(

MrsTD88 · 09/09/2021 23:44

@Hopefulmummie that is so unfair having you wait all that time on your own, especially when you have no idea how long you'll be waiting for! Do you have a book or magazine or something to keep you occupied? Hopefully you don't have to wait too much longer 🤞🏻

Hopefulmummie · 10/09/2021 01:41

@MrsTD88 I know. Its crazy... Apparently there's no Drs available in admissions as delivery suites so busy. I was told that at 9 and still no Dr down yet

KHR1 · 10/09/2021 04:54

Congratulations @ame88 and @bewitchingnight!

@Hopefulmummie that's awful you've been waiting so long, really hope someone gets to you soon so you know what the plan is

Hopefulmummie · 10/09/2021 08:30

9 hour wait just to be sent home with blood pressure medication and referral made to induction team Confused

MrsTD88 · 10/09/2021 09:34

@Hopefulmummie that is ridiculous! No wonder your blood pressure is up when they have you waiting around like that. I hope you manage to get some rest today, you must be so tired X

leftitlate37 · 10/09/2021 09:36

Congratulations @bewitchingnight!!! Wow that is fast!! How do u feel? Same weight as our baba that!! Glad u r home now.
@hopefulmummie sorry to hear all that wait for being sent home.
Reading these past messages does seems its manic everywhere for inductions! Our ward was well busy and had friends who had their babies earlier this month where they got bought in to start process but then it was so busy they just kept dragging it out. Hope u all have good experiences x

Kirky658 · 10/09/2021 10:54

@hopefulmummie please please keep a close eye on your blood pressure if you start to get headaches, blurred vision or spots in your vision ring the maternity unit straight away. Xx

Hopefulmummie · 10/09/2021 13:20

@Kirky658 I seem to have a lot of symtoms of pre eclampsia except protein in my urine so think that's why they not doing anything in a hurry. Told them I've had headaches last few days. Just have to keep checking blood pressure

FTEngineerM · 10/09/2021 13:29

@Hopefulmummie oh no that just have been so tiring!

@Kirky658 how’re you getting on at home? 😃 Alice just be a few weeks old now 🥳

FTEngineerM · 10/09/2021 13:29

Must not just*

Kirky658 · 10/09/2021 13:43

@hopefulmummie I had zero protein in my urine the first time it was checked then 2 hours later it rocketed. Please do stay safe and keep monitoring it.

@ftengineerm hey! We are doing OK thanks, settling into the new way of life just about... DH back at work on Monday so dreading it. Alice is 4 weeks already?! Crazy. I have been struggling emotionally and have my first counselling session this afternoon. Hope you are good x

Mamabearwhere · 10/09/2021 18:37

@Taybz any progress? Nothing for me

Hope everyone’s doing okay, so many babies now! Congratulations everyone!

I’m on day 2 of being induced, it’s quite soul destroying tbh, had the pessary yesterday at 2pm and was checked after 24 hours and nothing has happened, not even a smidge of dilation. They’ve left it in there for a further 8 hours so I’m due another check at about 10.30pm tonight. Not sure where we go from here if nothing has happened, I’m all for trying another pessary but I really want to go home. Due to COVID they aren’t letting you leave the ward (although we broke free earlier and went for a walk) and I’m exhausted from the constant monitoring and being woken up to monitor baby every few hours. They won’t let me go home though due to the polyhydramnios so I guess I’m stuck here. Does anyone know what happens if the pessary doesn’t work at all? I’m being induced because baby’s growth has stalled so it surely can’t just be open ended? I asked the midwife but she didn’t really seem to know, she mumbled about potentially a section but didn’t say what would lead to that? It’s all so confusing! Doesn’t help that everyone else seems to have the pessary and then they are in early labour and off they go lol I literally feel like Rachel in friends Grin
