@Sillysocks998 congratulations 💙

@Kirky658 that's good you'll get to stay with her on the children's ward. She sounds like a little fighter being out of NICU already X

KHR1 · 14/08/2021 19:51

@Kirky658 hope you are discharged soon so you can both spend more time with her x

Is anyone getting/has anyone got a tens machine? Considering getting one but I keep putting it off

leftitlate37 · 14/08/2021 20:03

Going to hire one @KHR1! Hadn't thought about it but saw diff midwife last week and she mentioned it and thought actually I'd give it a go. Friend sent a link to hire for 25 quid for about 7 weeks so can practice with it before.

Kirky658 · 14/08/2021 20:13

Sorry ladies getting really really annoyed now. My blood pressure has gone up to over 170, needs to be 150 or below for then to let me go home. They're starting me on more meds and I'm staying in for longer. I just can't cope with staying here any longer, I hate it, and now they won't let me go and see my daughter as they've moved her so far away and my BP is so high again they say its unsafe .. I just want to cry.. This is not how I wanted my journey to start!

LauEli · 14/08/2021 21:27

@Kirky658 surely your blood pressure isn't going to reduce, its probably increased due to stress of not being with your daughter (unless I'm completely off the mark 😬) why wouldn't they let her come back onto the ward your on if she has now been moved out of nicu? I'm baffled

KHR1 · 14/08/2021 21:34

@leftitlate37 practising with it sounds like a good idea, think I need to take a dive and just get one/hire one!

@Kirky658 I'm so sorry that they aren't letting you see Alice, that's awful and shouldn't be happening. As @LauEli surely that will cause enough stress to put anyone's blood pressure up!/keep it up.

crobo87 · 14/08/2021 21:47

@Kirky658 I'd agree with the others, surely if someone went with you in a wheelchair seeing Alice would actually help your blood pressure.

CherLW · 15/08/2021 00:52

@KHR1 I have borrowed one of a friend… I’ve heard they can help. I just look at it as if it helps then it’s a bonus but if it doesn’t then I have nothing to loose.

deedeebythesea · 15/08/2021 01:28

@Kirky658 I’d be fuming. What a ridiculous rule to impose. Is there someone you can speak to regarding bring Alice over to you? Even if just temporarily? Hang in there, lovely! Hope you get some rest tonight! X

deedeebythesea · 15/08/2021 01:33

I am up with some regular tightening down there. Not sure what to make of them. Had a prolonged spell of back pain today which came back in the evening but with less intensity. Took paracetamol, as I could also feel a migrate starting to come on... In bed now, but struggling to relax and go to sleep

deedeebythesea · 15/08/2021 01:33

migraine* not migrate 🤦🏻‍♀️

Sillysocks998 · 15/08/2021 02:32

Hi Ladies. Our baby was born quite young so he's still in Nicu. Currently I have a venflon in that's killing me but they are refusing to take it out. As they need access whilst I'm on Hdu! But it's absolutely killing me. It's my bloody arm! I've got to go onto transitional care. Learn to feed before they'll let me go anywhere. It's actually really frustrating. Seems like there's so many barriers. @Kirky658 hi Hun not sure what is happening exactly with you? So much to read but they definitely won't let you go anywhere with high BP! So annoying I can totally relate to you. Worst thing, it's the weekend and nothing gets done on the weekend. All they egivrn me is a new pain killer and told to put up with it and shut up basically. I feel like they are exercising this control over me. 😭. Hard enough feeling torn after being seperated from your baby. The NHS here Is over stretched, grumpy and just rude basically.
I hope you can go home soon. I'm likely to be in hospital for another 2 weeks. So altho my cannula is killing, I've got to try and let the time past and just look forward to going home. My waters broke randomly on Wednesday morning at 3.30am!then woildnt stop leaking. It was so random, unexpected so if anyone still needs to pack their bags do it asap! You won't be able to think straight after. C section is hard, I can't physically do much at all, no bending etc. It's going to take a while to get back to normality. I was only dialated 4cm too when the contractions were strong. My MW made the difference for me, so hope you ladies have a good one.
But just a warning things are over stretched here in the UK in nhs.so it can get frustrating. Stay well mommas to be x

SP2Bx · 15/08/2021 07:31

Sorry to hear you're having a rough time ladies, hang in there, you'll be home with your babies before you know it xxx

MrsTD88 · 15/08/2021 08:24

@deedeebythesea how are you, did the tightenings continue through the night?

Mamabearwhere · 15/08/2021 08:39

@deedeebythesea I was up a few times last night and had to breath through some tummy tightening! I really thought it was the night but then they suddenly stopped and I dozed back off. Guess we’re just getting closer and closer! I’m so anxious

Jay3004 · 15/08/2021 13:56

@Kirky658 @Sillysocks998 sorry to hear you’re both having such a tough time.

My waters broke at 4am this morning - I’m only 34+4. At the moment I’m not having regular contractions or dilating so been given antibiotics and steroids and being monitored. The doctor I saw when I came in said I’d be having a section tonight then the day shift doctor said they’ll monitor me for 48 hours and could send me home!

Kat1112025 · 15/08/2021 14:07

@Jay3004 that is what happened to me (at 32+5), but during the 48hr observation contractions began.

It is scary when things start happening so early. Thinking of you, hope everything goes well, whether thats discharge in a few days or another preemie X

Jay3004 · 15/08/2021 14:16

@Kat1112025 I’ve had odd contractions but no pattern and they’re not sore. It’s the strangest feeling!

Thank you. How’s your wee one doing? xx

Krista1991 · 15/08/2021 14:34

Wow a few babies born already 🙈🥰😳

I hope you are all doing well 😇

I am 36 weeks next week ❤️

Kat1112025 · 15/08/2021 15:50

@Jay3004 he's doing well, not off a feeding tube yet so it'll be a while until we can bring him home. He's well, just little X

LauEli · 15/08/2021 16:01

@Jay3004 hope your ok! Hopefully it'll just be monitoring and home to cook baby a little while longer 🤞

Babies really do come when they want don't they 👀

KHR1 · 15/08/2021 17:14

Thanks @CherLW that's a good way to look at it

Hope all is okay @Jay3004 and @deedeebythesea

Sillysocks998 · 15/08/2021 17:32

@Jay3004 my waters went at 3.30am mild contractions. In hospital by 6am. Checked dilation by 1pm, contractions closer by 5pm. Got told I was going to be operated on 2 days later. At 7pm I was in labour! Baby born by 10pm. Lol. That's how it went. It can change so fast. Good luck

Hopefulmummie · 15/08/2021 19:42

Anyone know any remedies for restless legs? 1st time I've had them and in agony today

deedeebythesea · 15/08/2021 20:02

@MrsTD88 b& @KHR1 Sadly, nothing to report. Felt asleep shortly after posting here and slept until 8:30. Woke up and if anything felt a lot lighter than usual. The bump doesn’t feel as heavy and the little man is not as active in general.. Don’t know what to make of it all. Let’s see what the next week brings. I have a driving test booked in for Wednesday (please don’t roll your eyes haha I know it is bonkers! but I need to be able to drive before we move house which is eminent) So if he could wait until Wed eve, that’d be ideal! 🙈

@Mamabearwhere how are you feeling? any developments? xx
