Oh ladies I just feel like having a big cry today. I feel like I need to get a grip and put my big girl knickers on. I just feel so awful! I'm hardly getting any sleep so I'm exhausted, my body just aches and don't even mention the bump.... Feels like a concrete weight. Along with the pelvic pains, headaches and generally feeling like crap. Went swimming this morning and just had zero energy, it was so so difficult. Feeling very demotivated now and feels like I've been pregnant forever. I am trying to tell myself it will all be worth it in a few weeks but it feels so far away!

RadDarwazeh · 08/08/2021 13:25

Sorry to hear you're feeling totally meh @Kirky658

Remember we are all in this together. My legs feel like tree trunks. So heavy. So I can relate to body pains and aches :(

I find a bit of fresh air helps. Even if you open the windows at home if you're not feeling up to a walk. Get some nice soothing movie on like a chick flick too 💕

Jary6 · 08/08/2021 14:03

If there's anything I would recommend it would be to just relax. To be honest as long as your sat still or sleeping that will help your body get some of its energy back.

I have an almost 2 year old who doesn't let me sit still and makes me realise how much I should have rested in my first pregnancy.

The lifting of my daughter with a big belly is difficult and so I'm hoping this little one comes early too but I'm only 33 weeks but if he made an appearance at 36 weeks I'd be happy :-)

MrsTD88 · 08/08/2021 15:18

@Kirky658 sorry to hear you're having a bad day. It's okay to feel that way, please don't be hard on yourself. Baby is growing so quickly at this stage she'll be taking up so much of your energy. It doesn't help it is so difficult to sleep for more than an hour, you're bound to be exhausted and not have much motivation at this stage. Your body is telling you to slow down and relax, try and enjoy the day of rest. If you can maybe watch something not too strenuous or read a book or something if you can to take your mind off things for a while.

Scotti84 · 08/08/2021 18:54

Hang on in there @Kirky658 you're not alone. I didn't realise it would get like this towards the end, another of the things no one tells you! I'm getting very uncomfortable with nearly every movement atm, the cute little kicks are now feeling like she's trying to fight her way out of my stomach, it's not so enjoyable atm. Plus I had a very random but strong case of lightning crotch this morning which stopped me in my tracks, poor hubby didn't know what to do. I think like @MrsTD88 said, all we can do is rest as much as possible and try a bit of self care, whatever makes us feel relaxed and cheers us up. Hopefully tomorrow will be a bit better for you xx

Kirky658 · 08/08/2021 18:58

@raddarwazeh @scotti84 @jary6 @mrstd88 thanks ladies. I had a good hours sleep this afternoon after taking a couple of paracetamol following a good crying fit and feel a bit better now. I am getting very breathless at the moment too which keeps making me panic I've caught covid - did a lat flow yesterday and today and both negative so think it's just my asthma and anxiety 🤔 hopefully baby moves down soon!

FTEngineerM · 08/08/2021 18:58

The end is pretty shit @Kirky658 our bodies are working at their absolute maximum, do what ever the hell makes you comfy. As soon as that little darling is here I hope almost all of the pregnancy symptoms disappear.

Squibble84 · 08/08/2021 19:06

@Kirky658 glad you’re feeling better, the last few weeks do drag and are always the most uncomfortable! I’ve been soo tired and achey today - combination of my 2nd covid jab yesterday, my almost two year old deciding to wake up for the day at fucking 3:30am and then proceeding to be a little terror for me the majority of the day! 😭

Geegee20 · 08/08/2021 19:40

Evening ladies! Just reading all comments from today and last night... wer nearly there now👏🏼👏🏼! I am the same as most of you on off pains in me grins and back, my babys head was early touching my cervix 2 weeks ago early on my growth scan... not long at all now xx

GWhiteley · 08/08/2021 23:09

Well I have officially finished work & now have at least 3.5 weeks until baby is due. It's been a stressful month with work, so glad I decided to finish a bit earlier than I originally intended as I'm shattered! Not sleeping well cause if my hips & stomach gets in the way of everything now!

I'm sure it's been talked about before now, but what are you all considering taking to wear during labour & then while still in hospital?

RadDarwazeh · 08/08/2021 23:45

@GWhiteley I got a couple of maternity nighties from George - asda. And a thin dark dressing gown from Primark. Massive black pants. Soft bras I can pop a boob out from for breastfeeding hopefully. Slippers, cosy socks and flip flops for the shower. Basically comfort always 💕

CherLW · 09/08/2021 00:04

@GWhiteley I finished work today too! I’ve got annual leave and my mat leave doesn’t start until September 3rd.. I feel the same, I was going to work another week but so glad I didn’t now as I really can’t be bothered and would rather use my energy getting bits done at home!

For Labour I’m wearing a crop top type bra thing and a nightie… at least if the nightie needs to come off I’ll have some sort of boob coverage 😂. Ive then packed 2 nursing nighties and I’ll just pack some leggings and a top/hoodie to wear home.

Like @RadDarwazeh it’s all about comfort for me too!

KHR1 · 09/08/2021 07:09

@GWhiteley for labour I've got a cheap dark beach dress, a bit like a strappy nightie, that I've had for years as it was easy to whip off last time and I wasn't bothered if it got spoilt. I used similar dresses for after birth with leggings, soft nursing bras and big pants - they were really comfy.

SillyBry · 09/08/2021 07:16

@GWhiteley congratulations on finishing work, super exciting!
Last rime, I ended up in labour in my husbands boxers and an oversized t-shirt. I wouldn’t bother buying anything special as the primal instinct to get naked is strong 🤣🤣
I went in at 4am, so was pretty much in pjs… but some vomiting etc forced a change or two, so I ended up in a hospital gown, which was whipped off at the end for skin to skin.

For those talking about sweeps, I only had one in early labour. (If they check you, they routinely sweep, as it’s pretty much in the same area and hopefully will help things progress.) I was 1cm and got admitted 7 hours later at 4cm, so it may have worked. Or maybe my body was doing it anyway.
They aren’t very comfortable, but what is at that stage?!

I’m with you all on feeling lumpy and uncomfortable… I think it’s nature’s way of making you ready for the baby to come! If you weren’t feeling achey and rubbish at the end, you wouldn’t necessarily welcome to sleepless nights etc 😉🤣
36 weeks tomorrow here - and just tired of finding turning over in bed so bloody difficult! I just can’t wait to lie on my tummy or back again 🤣 or bend over to put shoes on without it hurting. And eating is becoming tricky - there’s no space and I don’t really fancy food anymore!
Still, I keep telling myself that life is easier now than with a newborn, so keep plodding on and it’ll all be ok 😊😊
We’re in the final stretch ladies - we can do this! I spend most of my time telling myself baby will be overdue as then I won’t be disappointed when I get to my due date and nothing is happening!!

GWhiteley · 09/08/2021 07:40

Thanks ladies, will have a think about the clothes situation.

@CherLW snap! I'm on holiday now & mat leave starts on the 1st. The last 6 weeks have been really stressful & demanding at work & I spent the last 2 weeks training my cover so am exhausted, really glad I didn't stay on an extra week as I had planned originally! Today is her first day without me so I'm a bit nervous. She's actually one of my best friends & said 'oh I know I can call on you if I get really stuck' and I was like NO! Once I'm finished I don't want to get involved in work anymore!

Scotti84 · 09/08/2021 07:47

Good to see I'm on the same page as you all with clothing. I dont like the idea of being completely naked so thought big t shirt (or one of hubbys) to give birth in, then I have a couple of nightshirts with buttons, and then for the daytime like pj bottoms, jogging bottoms and vest tops and a thin dressing gown. Also huge knickers just incase I need a c section, then they won't sit on the scar. And slipper socks. I read somewhere that it's good to keep feet warm.

I'm 37 weeks today, going to break out the raspberry leaf tea. Tastes like crap but if it helps...

Noodles4Me · 09/08/2021 10:29

Wish I'd finished work but got this week to get through....at least I can take my AL at end of mat leave which gives me an extra, fully paid, month.

I'm now isolating before the surgery. Already bored and it's been 10 hours! Grin

CobleCloud · 09/08/2021 11:01

Very jealous of you ladies that have finished work! I have 11 days after today spread across the next 3 weeks then 2 weeks annual leave before my due date! It's getting harder to concentrate on work though as I'm so tired and getting uncomfortable.

Has anyone else started feeling nauseous again? The last couple of days it come back with a vengeance!

KHR1 · 09/08/2021 11:08

@CobleCloud with you on the nausea front! At least 3 nights over the last week I've been feeling so sick - last night my stomach felt so tight and uncomfortable for hours, until I was finally sick, then all the kicking and shuffling from baby just makes it feel so much worse.

Jay3004 · 09/08/2021 11:12

@CobleCloud @KHR1 I’m glad you both said that because I was starting to think I’d picked up a bug. Not actually been sick but been feeling so nauseous again the last few days and lost interest in food.

SP2Bx · 09/08/2021 11:25

@CobleCloud I've been feeling a bit icky for a few days so totally could be the nausea coming back!

So jealous of you ladies having finished work, 14 days left for me after today, I know it will fly but it can't come soon enough!

I keep waking up in the morning with crusty patches on my PJ tops around my nipples... but never notice any leaking in the day. Is it time for bra sleeping and breast pads already?! I'm 34 weeks on Weds - seems soon?

CobleCloud · 09/08/2021 12:09

Thanks ladies @SP2Bx @KHR1 @Jay3004 glad it isn't just me on the nausea front.. it's getting bad.. I'm trying to nibble little and often but it's not helping.

Can't believe how close it is now for you some of you ladies.. it's definitely getting very real each day now.. eek 🙊 x

KHR1 · 09/08/2021 12:15

@SP2Bx I've had odd bits of leakage/crust from about 24 weeks, usually in an evening after I've had a shower. I've managed to avoid having to use pads so far though as it hasn't been much

Kirky658 · 09/08/2021 12:18

Nausea here too, I'll be 35 weeks weds. Also vile headaches. Felt a bit fluey for a few days tbh just generally under the weather! Negative covid tests thank god.

My last week at work! They're already trying to give me extra work to do. I'm like seriously I've just had a week off and I need to wind down and finish bits off 😅

unicornpower · 09/08/2021 12:52

@SP2Bx I have had leaking since about 24 weeks and it started mostly at night at first, i got reusable pads from boots and wear a sleep bra now as it was wrecking all my tops. It's not too soon i don't think? We can start colostrum harvesting in a few weeks if you were planning on it so your boobs are just doing their thing! haha
