@CherLW I won’t be ironing things! (…but I rarely iron anything!)

Kirky658 · 05/08/2021 19:57

@cherlw we've only got up to 0-3 months so I've washed everything we've got. I won't be ironing them though, they've been line dried and rolled nicely in the drawers 😍

Geegee20 · 05/08/2021 19:58

@CherLW 😂😂😂 your right.. everyone is different I liked to do it with my other kids, so proeprly why its something I've done with all 4 x

LittleCatDog · 05/08/2021 19:58

@CherLW no ironing here! But I never iron anything.. I just got a really good pre packed hospital toiletries bag off Amazon if anyone is packing their hospital bags!

CherLW · 05/08/2021 19:59

@D0nut I don’t even own an iron!!

@Kirky658 I’ve put al my things away nicely in the drawers too, so cute to look at… I wonder how long I’ll be able to keep that neatness up for 😂

KHR1 · 05/08/2021 20:00

@CherLW I've washed anything new that I've bought regardless of size (got some really random sized things that were cute/on sale and only had bigger sizes in) but won't be getting 3-6m stuff that we already have out of the loft to wash for a while. I'm not great at ironing so will definitely not be ironing baby clothes - my own only get done if they absolutely need it...

@Geegee20 I found rocking on a yoga ball really helpful with hip pain for DC1

Geegee20 · 05/08/2021 20:03

@KHR1 I might have to try that although abit scared yet as I have 7 week till am due and babys head is touching my cervix nearly, I was told on my growth scan last week. So It might not be a good idea just yet 🙈 but defo keep that in mind xx

AdventuresAwait · 05/08/2021 20:25

@2021mumma, yay! It's exciting to have the date isn't it? The countdown is on... enjoy getting everything ready 😍

Kirky658 · 05/08/2021 20:27

@khr1 deffo with you on the ironing of my own clothes only if they need it - taking full advantage of DH being off work for 6 weeks hols so no ironing shirts or trousers for 6 weeks 😂😂

@cherlw haha if my neighbour is anything to go by... 2 weeks in everything was washed and left in baskets downstairs ready to dress baby in again 😬 by the way how did it go with the fluid in the end, all ok? I thought I'd leaked yesterday but I think it was from DTD 😂

@geegee20 second rocking on the ball, I've been suffering with backache and that's really helped me!

LittleAurora · 05/08/2021 20:32

Hi! 33 weeks and totally ready to have baby lol.
Need to hold of until 37 weeks minimum for my homebirth.
His movements are painful sometimes and he gets into such awkward positions lol

Also looks like I'll have to go to a wedding at 4 week pp :( looking for a breastfeeding friendly dress that's dark because likely will still be bleeding Flowers

Geegee20 · 05/08/2021 21:05

@LittleAurora I'm with you on that! Am waiting to move house any week now, and my baby is all ready to come, am praying he stays in for a few weeks at least till 36-37 weeks. Am 33 weeks to, and the movement oh its so painfull some days, we got this 💪 not long to go x

CherLW · 05/08/2021 21:26

@Kirky658 yeh it was all ok, she told me to wear a pad over night as if it was amniotic fluid it would continue to come out but woke up and it was dry so I’ve just been keeping an eye.
I feel absolutely everything panics me now when it comes to wetness 😂

SillyBry · 05/08/2021 21:26

@LittleAurora I highly recommend the facebook group "Can I Breastfeed in it? UK" They are masters of finding feeding friendly food, even when it's not designed for feeding!

SP2Bx · 05/08/2021 21:32

Ooh lots to catch up on...

@SillyBry Some people really are so tactless 🤦🏼‍♀️ That said, I get annoyed when people tell me I'm massive, but equally as annoyed when people say I'm not that big or seem to be the same size as when they saw me 6-7 weeks ago!!! So no one can win really 😂

At last check I'd gained 8kg - which I'm surprisingly ok with. I actually keep getting told "you haven't put on weight anywhere else!" so I'm hoping all those people weren't just being kind haha. Also counting on the BFing to help post-partum @Scotti84 !

I had my first trip to MAU today for an extra anti-D shot after bump being used as a springboard by my dog mid-zoomies! 🙄 All was fine with baby thankfully but I didn't really have any concerns about that.

I've done a massive Amazon haul today (actually 3 separate hauls as I kept missing stuff off 🙈) but all just the odds and sods left for hospital bag and stuff really! Can't wait to start packing, next weekend probably 😊

Anyone else's DH/DP put a date in the diary for no more drinking, golfing, working away etc...? Mine just announced the other day that after next weekend "that's it" (I'll be 35 weeks) - completely unprompted by me! Which was refreshing 😅

2021mumma · 05/08/2021 21:55

@AdventuresAwait yes so good to know - how are you getting on? X

Noodles4Me · 05/08/2021 22:06

Yay @2021mumma, fellow August baby Grin

I don't iron anyway but ironing baby clothes is utterly pointless.

I've not been too well today, bad guts...Still working till 4 days before birth. That might have been a mistake.

AdventuresAwait · 05/08/2021 22:33

@2021mumma, I'm doing OK thanks. 35 weeks today so another 4 weeks to go until my c-section. Hospital bags are packed and just hoping she doesn't come early. Feeling nervous and excited! You? Xx

2021mumma · 05/08/2021 22:46

@Noodles4Me yay august baby! I’m with you with the working I finish and 2 days later I have csection I’ve been busy tonight organising hair cuts/nails etc all the important things 😂

2021mumma · 05/08/2021 22:49

@AdventuresAwait I was asking that very thing today- what if I go into labour earlier eek! I must pack a bag for me and baby. It still doesn’t feel real for me if I’m honest that baby will be here in 3 weeks- maybe it will do after getting organised this weekend etc xx

Poppins2016 · 05/08/2021 23:02

@Squibble84 and anyone else who has been told they can't labour in a pool as they need to be monitored... it could be worth asking if they have waterproof wireless monitoring available. A senior midwife who teaches hypnobirthing at my local hospital said that women are often not told about this option even when it's available as it's often seen as inconvenient and a hassle!

MrsTD88 · 06/08/2021 00:41

@SP2Bx my husband was initially aiming for around 35 weeks too which is round about his dad's birthday. However now I have suspected placenta accreta we have to be on high alert so he is stopping as of now. I may have to have a section around 35 weeks depending on what the consultant finds at my next scan at 34 weeks so we have so much to do in potentially very little time. Also, if I have any bleeding or signs of labour before the next scan I have to go straight in so need him to be able to drive.

Kirky658 · 06/08/2021 08:56

@sp2bx awww that's so lovely of your DH!, I finish for mat leave next week at 35 weeks and he's off work till I'm 38 weeks.... So hoping that she arrives before he goes back! 🤞🤞🤞

Scotti84 · 06/08/2021 10:19

Hi all, posted this on the GD thread but just wanted to give you guys here an update from my consultant app today...

Just had my appt at the hospital with the birth consultant... what a bloody difference to what i was expecting! We had a list of questions about induction and c section etc and he was really relaxed and nice, said we would go to my due date 30th august and then see what was happening and look at further options. I was so worked up about having to choose a birth method now, but he said that if she hasnt shown by then thats when we can start looking at what to do. He did a scan and said she's long and her heads a bit bigger than normal but nothing concerning and as me and hubby arent built short and thin then we wouldn't have a small baby. I felt completely trusting in what he was saying and feel sure he would tell me if a c section was necessary. He also said induction isnt always by a drip, they give me a tablet that makes the cervix ready for labour and thats usually enough to bring it on. If that doesnt work then either infusion or c section. Had a look round the birthing rooms too which was also nice, feels a bit more real now and although im still apprehensive about the birth, feel a lot better that she'll still get chance to come on her own.

FTEngineerM · 06/08/2021 12:00

@CherLW I’ve done up to 3m too, bag full of 3-6m that I’ll do as and when necessary. No ironing though, just rolling them into cute little parcels and lining them in his drawers. Cue 3am looking for a sleep suit rummaging ruining that but w/e I am excited and it looks nice😂.

@Bubbles1st how have movements been today?

Can’t believe some of you are having your babies this month😍! So exciting.

@Scotti84 that sounds like a fab appointment, that’s just what you want isn’t it to feel more in control.

I had my 34 week spot today at 34+5 and fundal height was back down to 50th centile (went from 50th > 90th > 50th) but she’s sent me for a scan because she doesn’t know if the growth is tailing or if the last measurement was wrong. 😬😬 worried now, everything has been fine so far, streeeesssssed.

Squibble84 · 06/08/2021 13:20

@Poppins2016 thanks I’m definitely going to ask my midwife about this next week!
