Currently 40 +2 and had my membrane sweep today. Looking at being induced this weekend if I haven't gone before then which I don't want I really want to be able to go myself 😓

Whats everyone's sweep stories? When did you get your sweep, was it successful and if so how soon after did you feel anything/when did labour start etc?

@M24L and @MyGrassIsBrowner oh my look at your beautiful girls!!!! Such beauties.

Hope you are all getting on okay?? We've been discharged from midwife care today yayyy little man weighed 7lb 15 so not far off 8lb now! Off to get my Ds2 GCSEs tomorrow I think I'm more nervous than him also leaving baby with my mum so I don't have to take him into the school and content with parking, pram and crowds of people but eek I'm nervous about leaving him not gonna lie (it will be all of 40 mins max 😂)

Ignore that.. pressed send 🙄
@Vie8126
Hope you're doing well hun sounds like your little man is doing amazingly! Aww bet you're so excited to get your boys GCSE results, best of luck to him!!! It's been a rough year for the poor wee souls.

@M24L how you doing too lovely? Hows little lady? Still sleeping good?
DP started his new job today which went really well but there's a lot he needs to address re the business and staffing issues. It's a family owned hotel/wedding venue and he's landed himself role as general manager and I feel like his mother as I'm so proud of him lol. Was so strange for him to be home in a mere 15 mins as opposed to an hour at his old place. I'm like I can get used to this 😆 xx

@MyGrassIsBrowner It has been a tough couple of years with only a matter of months in school since year 10 but nothinf more can be done now! Wow well done to your DP my days are running into each other but ofc it's Wednesday isn't it!! Little man is doing great still chilled has a bit of sticky eye which I'm hoping doesn't develop into anything more I'm not sure if tonight his eyes look a little bloodshot or not.

Yes @M24L hope you are getting some sleep and recovering well!!

@Vie8126 hello lovely, go little man 🕺hope your DS gets the results he's looking for Mrs im sure you'll be one proud mumma 🙌

Oh god I feel for you lol but the 40 mins will fly in and you'll be home to baby before you know it mrs.

Breastfeeding here for us has took a turn for the worse, I was soo ill throughout the night with a temperature etc the lactation nurse came back today and advised me to take a break and maybe try to express instead as DD is literally ripping my nipples to shreds and its going to end up worse. Neither baby or me were managing to settle so it's been a very tired household today lol.

@M24L Just seen your messaged. Oh you poor thing I hope you're okay now lovely and managed to find some balance with the breast feeding. Think you gotta get to a point though were you decide if it's worth the trauma. Dont be too hard on yourself. Mamas wellbeing is important for bubs too.

I had a MW appointment this morning. I'm 32 weeks tomorrow. My little lady has assumed the oblique position and is not engaged at all lol! But my section is all booked in and confirmed for the 4th October and I'm feeling quite at peace with the idea now. She said the theatre staff are lovely and as I'm low risk she sees no reason it can't be a nice calm experience for me.
Just gotta hope she stays put until my date now haha!! Xx

M24L · 12/08/2021 17:53

@MyGrassIsBrowner I rested yesterday and been expressing today while topping up baby with formula and I feel so much better. I may give BF a try again once my nipples heal etc but for now expressing is my best bet.

Oh what your LO like lol, my DD turned oblique around the same time after being engaged but a few weeks later she engaged again. There's still plenty of space for LO to maneuver.

Are you looking forward to your section? I'm glad your feeling comfortable lovely and I'm sure everything will go as calmly and as perfect as it can. Xx

@M24L Oh go you! You've more determination than I did. I am willing to give it another go this time, though I think it might be a bit harder this time as it can take longer for your milk to come in after section. Tbh I'll just go in armed with plenty of formula. They're little buggars with their position but she did say 2nd babies can tend to not engage until as late as labour! More room to slosh about I guess 😂
She said I could be discharged by the next evening if everything goes to plan but she also said if you feel you need longer then to do so. I feel really positive about it now and to be perfectly honest I need more of a plan in place time with DPs work and childcare etc. Gonna be a mad rush if I go into early labour though haha!

How is the expressing going btw? Are you producing much each time and how much is she feeding? Xx
