I'm with everyone on the one side of the bump is hard and the other is soft - she's head down but lying diagonally across me so there's a little bum bumping against my ribs I think.

I don't think I've had any braxton hicks yet although I did have a sort of period type cramp when out for a walk which I thought could be? But no tightening or anything that I could tell. Didn't last long.

I've got one cellular blanket for now and then have a couple of the sleeping bag types for when she's a bit bigger. I didn't want to buy loads of blankets in case they're the sort of thing you get given!

I started washing all the smallest clothes and muslins etc this week and packed the baby's hospital bag! So exciting! My bag seems much more involved so I'm saving that for another day.

KHR1 · 11/07/2021 17:37

@marshmallowmode that's true! We never bought any of the expensive bags, just the asda/matalan ones which were much cheaper but still worked! DD was tall too so they never lasted as long as they were supposed to

KHR1 · 11/07/2021 17:43

Just saw these swaddes advertised - I didn't fancy swaddling last time as I thought I'd do it wrong but these aren't expensive and look easy enough so might try them!

AdventuresAwait · 11/07/2021 18:15

Those are the ones I've got @KHR1! They're lovely xx

Kirky658 · 11/07/2021 20:13

Antenatal classes done and WOW. If you get a chance to do an in person, midwife led one, please do it. They've been amazing. Today we've actually had a go with our car seat, dressed and undressed a baby and changed a nappy amongst other things. Sounds like little things but it's made us both feel so much happier and confident.

KHR1 · 11/07/2021 23:14

@AdventuresAwait they do look really nice! Very tempted to try them

KHR1 · 11/07/2021 23:16

@AdventuresAwait sorry thought of a question after posting! Do they velcro to fasten?

CherLW · 12/07/2021 00:00

@GWhiteley what you said about struggling to turn over in the night and your hips being in constant pain… I am the same! My hips hurt so much!! I crave the day I can sleep on my back again!!
I’ve been sleeping with a pillow under my knees and one between my knees which helps slightly!

I’m also feeling more breathless, not as in out of breath but everything being squashed breathless 😭

AdventuresAwait · 12/07/2021 07:28

@KHR1, yes they do. It is a nice 'soft' type velcro.

GWhiteley · 12/07/2021 10:53

@CherLW I just can't wait to not have painful hips, even if I'm being woken several times in the night by the baby! Plus the gd will have gone too hopefully - just got to hang on these last few weeks!

Talking about swaddling, do you think this is something they teach you once the baby is born & you're in the hospital? I did a basic baby care webinar but swaddling wasn't actually mentioned at all

Sillysocks998 · 12/07/2021 11:14

Morning Ladies. I have my GTT scan this Friday. I've been eating so much sugar and feeling guilty. It's at 830am. Not looking forward to being hangry. I hope you all have a good week, we really don't have long to go now. Single digits for many of us. Enjoy what sleep you can get, the weather and free time to rest. I am hoping to get the pram and car seat this weekend. We're just going for a mamas and papas one. Occaro. Hoping to pack my bags tomorrow as I'm high risk. Lots of love xxx

AdventuresAwait · 12/07/2021 11:42

Can I ask a question? I've seen lots of posts about sore & leaky boobs on here... but I don't have anything at all... anyone else? Starting to wonder if I should have and if it is just me with nothing... xx

Scotti84 · 12/07/2021 12:30

@AdventuresAwait dry boobs over here too. In fact they've gone down a bit, at the start of the pregnancy they were huge and sore but the last couple of weeks theyre a bit smaller and no pain, plus no leaks.

SillyBry · 12/07/2021 12:44

@AdventuresAwait My boobs aren't sore or leaking yet, don't worry! I think they may have an occasional drip as I sometimes wake up with a tiny bit of crust on my nipple, but no leakage here.

@GWhiteley I feel you on the hips - mine are awful! Oddly, I can still go out for a run and they aren't great, but I can manage it... but getting up to walk from the sofa or out of bed, I'm hobbling like anything. They are just so sore!

My hubby has just been pinged by track and trace so has to self isolate for 9 days. Is it bad that I'm like "fabulous... the gutters need power hosing, the fence needs painting, the crib, pram and rocker need to come out of the attic for building!" He's a teacher and it's the last week of term, so I don't feel too bad about giving him a list!!!

Krista1991 · 12/07/2021 13:07

Hello.

Hope everyone here doing well 🤰🏼😀💕

I am looking forward to the next week,I will have my 32 week scan due to low placenta.
Will see if I will need a c section or not 🥺🤦🏼‍♀️🙈

Krista1991 · 12/07/2021 13:11

I am planning to go and buy some more baby clothes etc, bottles, dummies 😁

AdventuresAwait · 12/07/2021 13:21

Thanks @Scotti84 and @SillyBry. Mine were also sore and big at the beginning but have gone down now. I don't usually worry about not having symptoms but this one I started to worry about so thanks for your reassurance.

Hope your scan goes well @Krista1991 xx

Mamabearwhere · 12/07/2021 15:32

Is anyone else struggling to walk with the heavy weight of the baby? When I walk I feel like I’m about to pee myself or feels like baby is about to fall out. It’s so uncomfortable plus it’s combined with my dizziness. Im so miserable. I finish for work for maternity leave on Wednesday and it can’t come soon enough so I have one less thing to worry about.

Kirky658 · 12/07/2021 15:38

No leaky boobs here either. Asked the midwife at the classes over the weekend she says it's very normal for some ladies to leak loads early on and for others to have little at the later stages and some not at all!

@mamabearwhere definitely starting to struggle here. I'm just constantly shattered and feels like I'm hoisting a bowling ball around with me!

I've started with carpal tunnel this week as well so my wrists and hands constantly hurt 😭

Scotti84 · 12/07/2021 15:46

A friend of my sisters told me the first trimester is where youre knackered all the time, the second you feel like a blooming flower and the third you start to wish it was all over. I know what shes on about now 😅 Dont get me wrong, im so happy to be having her, but i think that people cope with the pain of childbirth because all this build up with weird, unpleasant symptoms is then finally over!

Im tired all the time, hip pain, back pain, heartburn, craving things i cant eat due to the GD, hurts to put my shoes on if i bend a certain way, too warm and not sleeping! And dont start me on the mood swings! Its deffo an experience!

Mamabearwhere · 12/07/2021 15:55

@Scotti84 definitely sounds about right. Although this time round I didn’t even get blessed with the blooming flower stage either Grin

I’m definitely counting down the days to when it’s all over. I’m also telling everyone to remind me of these days if I ever even think about a 4th!

Noodles4Me · 12/07/2021 15:57

I hear you all...the tiredness and inability to move much or far are getting to me. I'm 33+4 and may be made to go to 39 weeks so dreading how much more uncomfortable it gets.

I'm sure we can all get through this final stretch together. Just think....a few more weeks then wine!!!!!! Wine

Mamabearwhere · 12/07/2021 16:02

@Noodles4Me I can’t decide what I’m more excited about, wine or sleeping on my front. Or Sex Grin

AdventuresAwait · 12/07/2021 16:18

Yes to feeling uncomfortable when walking @Mamabearwhere. I also have dizziness and get breathless.

Thanks @Kirky658, that's good to know. I hadn't thought about it until I read that others' had sore/leaky boobs & realised I haven't for weeks! In fact, they've got smaller again 🤷‍♀️ So good to know it isn't a concern.

Kirky658 · 12/07/2021 16:38

I'm having a bit of a meltdown about clothing! I've gone and bought loads of vests for DD when she arrives but only have 3 sleepsuits/ baby grows. Not really sure what I should be buying to dress her in and what size?!
