@SP2Bx, yes true. I wasn't going to get any as I thought I'm more likely to persevere with breast feeding if I don't have some to hand but it probably is good to have some in case.

SillyBry · 06/07/2021 21:35

I didn’t buy any last time.. and 2 weeks in, I was dreaming of feeding formula so I’d have definitely cracked if it were in the cupboard 🤣🤣

SP2Bx · 06/07/2021 21:38

Oh it's not for in the cupboard @SillyBry - hospital bag only!!! I'll leave it there and see if I can donate it or something if I don't need it. My hospital says to take some because they don't provide, although I'm sure they'd conjure some up from somewhere if you went without and then struggled to breastfeed!

KHR1 · 06/07/2021 21:41

Last time the premade formula bottles were amazing in hospital - DD wouldn't latch so we were encouraged to use formula to make sure she drank something.

I've made a start on the hospital bags but didn't get very far 🤦‍♀️ will be 32 weeks tomorrow. Hoping to get them mostly sorted but the end of this weekend

crobo87 · 06/07/2021 21:44

At what point do babies normally go head down?
I was surprised at my 27 week scan yesterday that baby is breach and his head is right up near my left ribs.

He had been lying vertical when I had my 22 week scan with legs on the left but has completely spun round.
I have other growth scans planned so I'm sure they will check. I was just surprised as he's in a totally different position that I thought

FTEngineerM · 06/07/2021 21:46

I know some hospitals say they don’t provide but if they need you/baby to stay in for monitoring they’re not going to watch your baby starve or dehydrate in front of you❤️ there’ll be a cupboard somewhere full of emergency bottles.

I’ve been thinking I might combi feed from the start this time, best of both worlds then.

LauEli · 06/07/2021 21:49

@crobo87 I think it's around 32 weeks, it can be earlier/ later. But if you have more growth scans coming up I'm sure sonographer will keep you informed 😊

SillyBry · 06/07/2021 21:58

There is an Asda in the car park of our hospital, so if I get totally desperate, I’ll send hubby shopping!
I’ve not had a scan since 20 weeks, but the midwife said baby was head down already at my 28 week check? She commented that he/she was well trained!

AdventuresAwait · 06/07/2021 22:15

@crobo87, I am sure I was told that they can change until 36 weeks and that is also when the NHS website says birth options are discussed if baby is not head down. So still time!
A course I did says a good position for getting baby in the optimal position is upright, forward and open. This is my automatic position when on the birthing ball so might be worth a try.

crobo87 · 06/07/2021 22:17

@AdventuresAwait I've had the birthing ball out a few weeks for my back pain.
Still time to change position again 🤞🏻🤞🏻

bewitchingnight · 06/07/2021 22:22

@crobo87 I'm 31 weeks and midwife said today she's head down but a bit sort of diagonal so not fully there yet. Movements had been different over the last few days so I don't think she's been that way for long

@Kirky658 I hope you get to find out as well! It was the first time the midwife had been able to say a bit more definitely! Usually she has at least two places to try for the heartbeat 😂

SP2Bx · 06/07/2021 22:39

I've got my 28 weeks appointment tomorrow (when I'll be 29 weeks as was too unwell to go last week) so looking forward to having bump measured for the first time, hearing baby's heartbeat again, and hopefully finding out what position they're in! They were jus fully horizontal last time 🙈

Kirky658 · 07/07/2021 09:24

Bump update - 30 weeks ❤️

Kat1112025 · 07/07/2021 09:52

@Kirky658 looking great!

I'm just under two weeks behind and feel like a baby whale 😭 I don't mind looking like I'm blooming, but I miss getting out of bed and chairs easily.

AdventuresAwait · 07/07/2021 10:24

@Kat1112025, me too! 31 weeks tomorrow and getting out of a chair is no longer easy!!

@Kirky658, lovely bump!

Kirky658 · 07/07/2021 10:44

@kat1112025 @adventuresawait likewise, it's difficult rolling out of bed now 🤣

SillyBry · 07/07/2021 10:47

@Kirky658 Very lovely bump! And I love the dog watching from the bed! ;-)

I went to an outdoor comedy show last weekend and we had to sit in deckchairs... that was VERY difficult to get out of!!

Kirky658 · 07/07/2021 10:52

@sillybry he always ruins my photos, little sod 😂 I have to say impressed with your dedication using a deckchair I'd be worried about falling out onto my face!

SillyBry · 07/07/2021 12:16

I tried not to take it too personally that I sat in it and the fabric ripped… I sent hubby to get a new one as I couldn’t face being the pregnant woman that broke the chair 🤣🤣🤣

FTEngineerM · 07/07/2021 12:43

Cute dog @Kirky658

Me too @Kat1112025 my stomach is massive and I have lots of stretch marks on my legs/hips. 9 weeks 4 days to go 👀🤭.

AdventuresAwait · 07/07/2021 14:53

@FTEngineerM, I suddenly feel massive too! 7 to 8 weeks to go now that my due date has been brought forward.

I just realised I've not been doing my pelvic floor exercises... 😳 is everyone else doing them every day?

Kirky658 · 07/07/2021 15:05

@adventuresawait haha I just do mine whenever I remember... Which isn't that often! I've tried to do them once or twice a day recently but the last few days it feels like things are too jam packed down there...

AdventuresAwait · 07/07/2021 15:36

@Kirky658, I must try to do them twice a day. Totally forgot 😔

AdventuresAwait · 07/07/2021 15:45

What clothes are you all buying? As well as vests, I've bought the full sleepsuits/babygrows but saw these today and realised it could still be warm in September... so do I need this style too??

September 2021 - Thread 7 is here
Kirky658 · 07/07/2021 16:02

@adventuresawait to be honest all we've bought are some vests and some long sleeve sleepsuits. We know people will buy us loads of stuff. I want to buy her something nice for coming home in though.

Well after last week today I was exhausted and put my foot down with my boss and I've taken the afternoon off to rest. Feel so much better for it x
