Hope you manage to get something sorted with your boss @Kirky658

Just had our private rescan, baby is head down now, just hoping he stays that way! The company were so goo, they spent ages talking us through everything they could see, so much yawning and finger chewing!

Hopefulmummie · 01/07/2021 23:28

I had a 4d scan today and baby weighing 3lb 6 already. When i put this on growth chart she's on 91st percentile.. Now im worried she's too big. I have another growth scan in 2weeks so will see then

Bubbles1st · 02/07/2021 11:24

How is everyone?

I'm 30 weeks today and can't believe a baby next month is a possibility!

I've just seen a thread for those due in March 2022 and thought, wow I remember posting in the early days feeling it was a lifetime until baby would be here.

That's all 😃 happy Friday

@Bubbles1st wow when you put it like that, it really doesn't seem far off and we've all come so far! I remember getting my first positive test in January and being absolutely terrified after two losses last year. Finally embracing this pregnancy now I can feel baby moving everyday.

I have my GTT on Monday and my first growth scan, very nervous!

Taybz · 02/07/2021 12:41

@Kirky658 I hope things are a bit better for you now. Just wanted to add that although it's in guidelines to suspend on full pay if other measures can't be taken, organisations seems to be using every loophole to avoid this. Have had a horrid time with HR myself about this issue and I'm now taking maternity leave earlier than planned as I can't be bothered with the stress of fighting this issue. Wish you the best x

Taybz · 02/07/2021 12:42

@Bubbles1st I'm 30 wks in a few days. So exciting yet terrifying! Happy Friday to you too!

Kirky658 · 02/07/2021 12:47

@bubbles1st it's frightening to think! I'm 30 weeks next weds. Will be starting to panic for sure once I'm in the last week and down to single figures I know it

@taybz thanks for reaching out lovely, I'm feeling a bit better now, days annual leave today and spending some time with friends just what I needed. Hope you are coping OK with work too you have my sincere sympathies xx

bewitchingnight · 02/07/2021 12:51

30 + 2 and you've genuinely shocked me by saying they could be here next month! I'm not ready! 🤣

AdventuresAwait · 02/07/2021 14:03

I'm 30+1 weeks @Bubbles1st and yes, time has gone so quick since first posting when finding out in January!

Only 8-9 weeks to go (as they don't want me to go past 39 weeks)! Can't quite believe it. Exciting.

SP2Bx · 02/07/2021 14:06

This is crazy that we're down to single figures of weeks before some of the babies will start arriving now.... I can't wait to hear about them all!!! I'm only 28+2 but even that's scary enough!

Hoping to build the cot this weekend but I've been off work poorly all week with a nasty cough/cold, and now DP seems to have caught it just as I'm starting to feel better, so if he feels as rough as I have, we won't be getting anything done in the nursery this weekend!!

AdventuresAwait · 02/07/2021 15:26

Glad you're starting to feel better @SP2Bx and hope your DP feels better really soon. We put our crib together this week and now it's next to our bed, making it suddenly seem so real! I keep thinking how they'll be a little baby in there soon 😊

Taybz · 02/07/2021 16:03

@Kirky658 glad to hear it! I'll be off of work very soon and it feels crazy!

Taybz · 02/07/2021 16:04

@AdventuresAwait @SP2Bx I was hoping to build the cot this weekend but family seem to think it's too soon! Is it? Makes it more exciting! 😃

Kirky658 · 02/07/2021 16:37

Our cot is being delivered on Wednesday 😍

I just found out, only today, that the growbag sleeping bags I bought are only suitable for babies 8lb or more. So tbh it's frightened me a bit as I've no idea what she should sleep in if she's smaller?!

AdventuresAwait · 02/07/2021 17:27

I think it's exciting @Taybz! It's a bit early, but we just thought why not! Baby bath is in the bathroom and nappy bin together etc. It's actually nice to think we will soon be ready/set up and I can concentrate on the little things & get more clothes and toys etc. But that's just me 🙂

AdventuresAwait · 02/07/2021 17:28

@Kirky658, exciting! I just got a couple of newborn swaddles/wraps for the first little while.

Taybz · 02/07/2021 17:40

Ok so stupid question but what bedding goes in the cot? Cot bumpers? We bought a pillow, duvet + cover and my sister said they don't use that for months. So they just lie flat in the cot with no head support? What about blanket? Or do you have to use a swaddle?

SP2Bx · 02/07/2021 17:41

@Kirky658 Ah they will be 8lb before you know it! Until then, cellular blankets I guess! To be honest, I know sleeping bags can be used from newborn and I'll be using them myself, but the thought of the teeny little thing in one from day one seems strange to me cause they're so big! So I'd planned to use blankets in the very very beginning anyway.

@Taybz I don't think it's too soon at all! Baby will be in our room in a crib for the first months but I still want their nursery all done to go in there to feed and change etc... the furniture all needs building now so I can put all the finishing touches in over the next couple of months and get all their clothes etc away... I feel like once the cot is built me it's REALLY going to hit home, especially for DP!!!

AdventuresAwait · 02/07/2021 17:42

@Taybz, I'm sure I was told no bumpers, pillows, duvet, teddies etc at all. Just baby with feet to the foot of the cot/crib with a Cellular blanket tucked in?

Taybz · 02/07/2021 17:43

@AdventuresAwait what nappy bin did you get? We want one without refills but not finding many options except the Ubbi and another one which is rather overpriced!

SP2Bx · 02/07/2021 17:44

@Taybz ... and I just missed your latest post there whilst writing mine but yeah, absolutely nothing in the cot is the advice nowadays! Just a fitted sheet. Look at the Lullaby Trust website, they have loads of info re. bedding, sleepwear, sleep position etc...

Kirky658 · 02/07/2021 18:06

Ahhhh cellular blanket! Good to know the terminology. Thanks girls x

MrsTD88 · 02/07/2021 18:18

@Kirky658 in the hospital it is just a cellular blanket. Will be using those again this time round until baby is a little bigger @Taybz the advice is no cot bumpers or anything else in crib because of the risk of SIDS. As @SP2Bx advises The Lullaby Trust provides great info on safe sleeping. Your midwife should bring this up soon too. X

GWhiteley · 02/07/2021 18:31

I can't believe I'm 31 weeks today & only 8-9 weeks left until she's here, single digits really are scary! I've got the next 3 Fridays off & then my annual leave starts on the 6th August & I can't wait to hopefully chill out for a few weeks until she's here

I'm going to have to have a look for these cellular (?) blankets soon as have no fitted sheets/waterproof sheet/towels or any of that sort of thing yet 🙈

SP2Bx · 02/07/2021 18:42

They sound more hi-tech than they are @GWhiteley ... basically just thinish blankets with lots of holes in! Most baby blankets fit the bill it seems!
