Ooh new thread! Just been catching up as not been on here the last few days ☺️

SP2Bx · 19/05/2021 13:47

Some nights I can be up 3 times, others I manage to sleep through (but wake up busting!) Can only imagine this is down to how much I drink before bed @FTEngineerM - surely that makes a massive difference!

@Krista1991 A few of us on here (previous thread) have been advised of low lying placentas at our scans, both posterior and anterior. My sonographer was very chill about it. In 90% of cases as your uterus stretches the placenta gets pulled up and out the way. I'm not worried, grateful I get a bonus scan to see baby again if anything!!! 🙂 If it hasn't moved then just means having to have a c-section which, although not my preference, I'm happy with if it's going to be safest for both me and baby!

bewitchingnight · 19/05/2021 13:58

It might @FTEngineerM but when I tried it just meant I woke up with a massive headache (and still had to get up to wee!)

Bubbles1st · 19/05/2021 15:07

I don't drink beyond 7pm if I can help it and it makes zero difference to how much I need to see in the night. Plus when I wake up in the morning it's still a full morning wee.... no idea how it works 🤣

OP posts:
SillyBry · 19/05/2021 15:14

Oh no, I was hoping that not drinking might help!
My evening routine is currently... go upstairs, have a desperately needed wee, check my daughter, brush my teeth, bio oil my belly and then have ANOTHER wee, just to squeeze any lingering drips before lumbering into bed!!
I usually wake up and think "I'm not desperate, but now I'm awake and uncomfortable, I might as well go" at around 3am... and then wake somewhere between 6.30 and 7 needing to go! It's mad!

I swear pregnancy is designed to get us ready for endless night feeds!!!!

crobo87 · 19/05/2021 16:18

I usually wake around 4 hours after going to bed for my first wee then every 2 hours after until I'm up. It's a nightmare 🙈

unicornpower · 19/05/2021 16:23

Another one for the no sleep because of needing a wee! My husband goes away at least once a week for work and I never sleep well when he's gone as I'm a bit of a scaredy cat but I woke up FOUR times last night for a wee! It's a nightmare isnt it. I've tried drinking less but I am so thirsty I find it hard! And then I wake up with a bad headache. I swear baby is just hugging my bladder now Blush

Is anyone else getting nosebleeds? I've had a few during pregnancy and I had one on the way to work this morning!

Sceptre86 · 19/05/2021 16:26

@crobo87 I'm the same. When I was having my dd I woke up 6x one night and ended up crying on the loo because I was so tired and had work in the morning. I have tried not to drink after 8pm but it doesn't seem to make a difference, I'm up at least 3-4 times a night. I'm then wide awake at 5.30am when I don't need to be up till 7am.

Sceptre86 · 19/05/2021 16:28

@unicornpower yep I've had quite a few nosebleeds in this pregnancy. I seem to have them moreso in my girl pregnancies. Only good thing is that they seem to stop fairly quickly.

Squibble84 · 19/05/2021 18:23

@SillyBry how do you find the bio oil, is it any good? I was really lazy last time but feel I should put something on my belly this time as I think my stretch marks might be getting stretch marks! 😬

@unicornpower I don’t get nose bleeds but my gums bleed so much more in pregnancy!

bewitchingnight · 19/05/2021 18:43

I haven't had nosebleeds but every morning / middle of the night I have to blow my nose for ages because I feel so congested. Such weird symptoms you'd never associate with pregnancy. I've also developed four or five skin tags that I never used to have 🤦🏻‍♀️

CobleCloud · 19/05/2021 18:55

Hi Ladies, haven't been around much recently. Had my whooping cough vaccine Friday afternoon and not been feeling great since, exhausted (more so than the pregnancy tiredness I've become accustomed too) dizzy, sick and headaches! Spoke to the doctor today and they are pretty sure it's still side effects from the vaccine but could also be a virus, so have to rest & drink plenty, plus go back if I'm still feeling rough in a couple of days. Just not been feeling myself I'm wiped out.

Little man is wriggling around though mainly in the evening and early morning like others have said. His movements are getting stronger 💙 which is nice and reassuring.

I'm with you ladies on the sleep and needing the loo in the night, mine seems to be 4:30 am most nights and it takes me a while to get back to sleep! Or on the nice occasion I manage to sleep through I'm wide awake at 6 when I don't need to be up till 8 as still WFH! Grin

Jay3004 · 19/05/2021 19:46

@unicornpower yes I’ve had a few nosebleeds too and never had one since I was a child. It’s so strange what pregnancy does to our bodies!

SillyBry · 19/05/2021 20:18

@Squibble84 I haven’t had any stretch marks... this pregnancy or the last... but whether that was the bio oil or not, I couldn’t tell you!
I have scars on my tummy from ectopic surgery last September, so I started earlier this time, mainly as those little scars looked a bit angrier as my tummy grew!!

I’m really suffering with headaches this week - where is this golden second trimester hey?! I think they should remarked it as the “least sh** trimester” to realign our expectations 🤣🤣

AdventuresAwait · 19/05/2021 20:30

🤣 @SillyBry about the second trimester!!

Welcome to all the new mummies who have joined!

I'm also going to the toilet many times a night!

Feeling baby move a lot more now which is nice!

I've got a couple of stretch marks above my hips and I've been using Palmers tummy butter and an oil from 12 weeks! None at the front or above at the moment but I'm guessing I will! Never mind. I'm just pleased all is OK so far.

24 weeks tomorrow! Anyone else feeling like the weeks have gone past quickly since 12 weeks? Xx

crobo87 · 19/05/2021 20:53

@SillyBry I think that accurately describes the second trimester 😂😂

I've definitely not got a pregnancy glow x

RaeRae84 · 19/05/2021 21:06

@SillyBry spot on with that 😆😆 I definitely have zero glow.

25 weeks today and I've been called fatty and chubs by 4 different people today 😂 think my bump has finally popped!

Taybz · 19/05/2021 21:25

Can't say I've been going to the loo all that much. How much water are you girls drinking? I feel awful because i rarely drank water before pregnancy and now I struggle to get 2litres down me. When I do drink, I can't hold it in and it's out within 10 mins. Anyone else struggle with drinking?

On another note, baby had become a right wriggler and I'm feeling loads of movement even with my anterior placenta. Finally feel like I can breathe and not worry 24/7!

Hopefulmummie · 19/05/2021 21:31

Hey everyone just getting caught up on the new thread

I'm also getting up 2 or 3 times a night to pee it's getting annoying lol
Also struggling with pelvic girdle pain.. Was referred to physio but they just gave me exercises to try

SP2Bx · 19/05/2021 21:37

@Taybz I've never been a big drinker, as in I could have a cup of tea in the morning and then be eating my dinner in the evening and realise I haven't drank anything since all day 😳 I've been making a really concerted effort to try and drink more since being pregnant but I'm defo no where near 2 litres! DP says he's noticed I have been drinking more though so I guess that's something 🙈 and me and baby are both well so I guess that's good too 🤷🏼‍♀️

Newmum110 · 19/05/2021 22:17

I am 23 weeks & still so sick. Throwing up everyday & so miserable. Feel guilty complaining but I really wish I was having twins cause there is no way I could go through another pregnancy. 17 weeks to go, fingers crossed they go fast!!!!!

D0nut · 19/05/2021 23:30

@Taybz @SP2Bx I’m glad I’m not the only one struggling with drinking. I have to really remind myself to drink and very rarely manage 2 litres. I’ve still been needing to pee in the night regardless though...

FTEngineerM · 20/05/2021 04:20

Well that was a shite idea, woke up at 3:30 with a head ache, dry mouth and I still needed a pee.

You were right 😂 makes no difference. Ah well. Now I can’t sleep

GWhiteley · 20/05/2021 06:30

At any point during the day I can go for a wee, walk back to my desk, sit down & think god I need ANOTHER wee. And it feels like I'm desperate again as well!

Can't leave anywhere without going for a wee first just in case.

And my water intake isn't amazing either, I am better as I normally get past as litre each day, but nowhere near 2 litres as I'd be going to the loo even more!

Kirky658 · 20/05/2021 06:52

I'm very fortunate to have no stretch marks so far. I've been using palmers cocoa butter because I love the smell of it 🤣 however like you @sillybry I had endo surgery last year and my scars are starting to stretch now and look a bit pink. I'm seeing the midwife this morning for my 25 week check (at 23 weeks) so I'm hopeful I can ask her loads of questions now.
