I saw 1.30, 3.50 and 6...

My DP got up at 3.50 and they managed to some squish the littlest legs dog once back in bed. Cute him in my arms and sleeping like a baby on my chest... finally got back to sleep in time to wake up again.

It's all good fun

The dog incident has at least reminded me why co sleeping is not for us!

Another one here who is up several times a night for a wee and also having nose bleeds! I wondered if the nose bleeds were related to my hayfever but it would seem they’re common in pregnant from what you’ve all said x

GWhiteley · 20/05/2021 08:30

I think in the other thread there was a conversation about nursing bras, has anyone found one that is fairly decent but doesn't cost the earth?

My boobs haven't changed in size really, so not sure whether I should even bother buying any until after baby is born?

unicornpower · 20/05/2021 09:01

I genuinely don't know where all the wee is stored, I don't feel I drink LOADS but probably near 2 litres a day and I am peeing constantly. I did prenatal yoga last night which was fun but I had to pee before I left, before the class and after the class. Its a nightmare haha

Kirky658 · 20/05/2021 09:16

With you all on the weeing, it's amazing Joe much I produce! I do drink a lot of water but I remember at my 20 week scan they made me pee during it because my bladder was so full that they couldn't see what they needed to, lol. Also on the nosebleeds get them every now and again in the morning and my nose is always really congested xx

Noodles4Me · 20/05/2021 09:28

I'm so glad my sleep is not disturbed yet. Only been woken up once by a boot to the bladder. Being forced to sleep on my side is giving me neck pain. I'm a front sleeper so have my pillow wedged there to stop me squahing the baby but my poor neck.

No stretch marks. No herniated belly button or dark line yet either. Hope this continues Daffodil

leftitlate37 · 20/05/2021 09:46

feeling for u guys with the nighttime weeing! So far ive managing to sleep through but daytime is totally diff story, forever in an out the loo! go swimming some mornings, pee before i get in car, when i get to pool, 30 mins later after getting out of pool...then 45 mins later when get to work! i can barely hold it in between all those times!!! i am drinking LOADS tho, never had this much in my life, constantly draining water/mugs of squash.
good luck with midwife today @Kirky658! let us know how it goes! mine is next week - got a couple of things to ask but looks like its a short appt for measuring and urine check so no idea to expect!

Fatmunks · 20/05/2021 09:54

@Taybz not the best drinker during the day. Incidentally, I do wake up in the middle of the night but not to pee, to drink water!

Also finding that my work schedule is not even remotely in sync with my body's natural rhythm (wreaking havoc!)

RaeRae84 · 20/05/2021 09:58

@newmum110 I feel so sorry for you. That sounds so miserable. I felt bad enough going up to about 15 weeks with sickness and constant nauseous feeling. I really hope you don't have it the whole way. I'm definitely only having one!!

CherLW · 20/05/2021 10:03

@GWhiteley I have recently ordered 2 nursing bras from ‘Cake’ and they are amazing! They were a little pricy but I signed up to their website and then one of the weekends they were having 25% off which made a huge difference.
The nursing clips aren’t fiddly and they are easy to use, the material is comfy yet supportive, the ones I have are wireless and so comfy!
I also looked at bravissimo (they also sell them at next). Good luck! I think nursing bras have been one of my biggest shopping struggles so far!

bluemagicalsky · 20/05/2021 11:07

Anyone else feeling really weak and shaky only an hour after eating or experienced this in previous pregnancies?

Also, anyone else leaking wee when sneezing? 🤦🏼‍♀️

@Newmum110 Im so sorry that you are going through this. I really feel for you. I felt the same re twins in my first 14 weeks. I really hope your sickness gives you some respite soon, I can't even begin to imagine, sending love

Kat1112025 · 20/05/2021 11:10

I've been wearing the sleep bras from Medela, not too pricey and super comfy on my sore boobs! But I'm working from home, they are definitely not supportive enough for outside the house.

Kirky658 · 20/05/2021 11:27

Hiya @leftitlate37 this was meant to be my 25 week appt but as I'm seeing consultant next week and busy at 25 weeks she did it today at 23 weeks. She measured my bump (measuring 23.5 weeks so that's good news) and had a feel of tummy and a listen at baby due to my movements slowing. Says all seems fine. She's told me to start monitoring movement from now, I won't feel a pattern but should feel her once a day at least. She wants me to have the glucose tolerance test so has sent off for that, and I mentioned the Strep B and she is going to monitor my urine samples and send them off now for each appointment. Discussed covid vaccine with her but she basically said it's up to me.... Thanks love!

SillyBry · 20/05/2021 11:54

Glad the appointment went well @Kirky658! I think everyone seems to be saying midwives and drs are basically saying "your choice!" to the vaccine! I spoke to a friend from work yesterday. We've all been home based since last March, but 2 go in twice weekly to do post etc. One girl (who doesn't go in was 34 weeks pregnant and her builder boyfriend bought Covid home. She didn't realise and met the girl who goes into the office for a walk and coffee.) Both of them came down with Covid, but not before the office girl spent a day in the office with my friend. She has had her first jab, but came down with it - as did her partner. She's now on her last day of quarantine. She said she felt truly awful - really exhausted and fatigued. My pregnant colleague says everything is fine with baby, but she had to inject blood thinners for 2 weeks post infection as a precaution.
That's made me realise how easily it spreads and is a bit of a kick to get the vaccine for me. The science also seems reassuring, but I still have that nagging doubt of what if I make the wrong decision for baby? I feel damned if I do and damned if I don't!!

I don't see the midwife for another 4 weeks at 28 weeks. Seems an age away!

@GWhiteley I'm currently in nursing bras from my first pregnancy, which are M&S ones. They are super comfy - pretty matronly and unattractive mind you! I've been looking at Cake all week - and particularly eying up this pumping bra as it looks ideal for pumping and sleeping/holding pads in place when in PJs! uk.cakematernity.com/products/lotus-pumping-bra
They say you won't get to "full size" until 8 months pregnant, but I tend to grow early! I've gone from a 34D/DD to a 36E already, but they suggest if you buy now, to buy them so they are at the tighest fitting at the back (so you have plenty of option to expand)... or if you buy at 36 weeks, to buy it so it fits on the loosest option as once your milk is established/after the first 6 weeks of feeding, your boobs will go down to a more normal size! (Probably like they are now.)
I had some cheap crop top type bras that I slept in from Asda last time.. but I do like the look of the Cake one that I can pump in too.
I'd love to treat myself to a really nice one from Cake, but not sure if I can justify the cost! I can get 2 from M&S for £30! I think I'll hold out for the sale!

Talking of sales, I was in Waitrose today and they were madly reducing loads of stuff on the baby aisle - no idea why! Pampers were reduced from £5 a pack to 99p. I picked up some Tickle Tot reusable nappies that are usually £18 each for £4 and boosters for them down from £8 to £1. Childs Farm bubble bath was £1.50, Weleda nappy cream £1, a 360 non spill cup (for 6 months/weaning onwards) from £6 to £1.20, wet wipes down to 50p.
I spent £40 on stuff that we won't need for ages, but will eventually use! The woman was like "oh how old is your baby?"
"Errrr, not born yet, but I can't resist a yellow label!"
I think I was definitely in the right place at the right time!! :-)

Kirky658 · 20/05/2021 12:12

@sillybry i know what you mean, feels a bit like you're damned if you do and damned if you don't! I'm going to keep an eye on this Indian variant spread in my area and then make a decision I don't think I'll be called for a few weeks yet anyway as I'm 27.x

SillyBry · 20/05/2021 12:21

That's my thoughts... if the Indian variant starts increasing numbers, I think I'll be much more inclined to get it. Whilst numbers are low, I'm less worried... although 3 daily deaths is too many, it's nothing compared to what we saw in the winter. I remind myself that my friends birthed mid pandemic and were fine... so if I choose not to get it, chances are it'll be ok.

Taybz · 20/05/2021 12:49

Ah I feel for all of you waking up through the night to pee. If that were me, I'd struggle to even get back to sleep. Heartburn is my new fun symptom (not)! Anyone else got this? I usually get it in the evening and at night and can't sleep well.

@unicornpower where did you find your antenatal yoga classes? I'm really keen to do some gentle yoga or Pilates sessions.

D0nut · 20/05/2021 13:00

@Taybz I also have terrible heart burn. The worst I’ve ever had in my life. I’ve been sleeping on my left with my long pregnancy pillow curled up on top of my other two normal pillows to get to sleep. This seems to really help-to be propped up quite high.

unicornpower · 20/05/2021 13:02

@Taybz I just googled for them in my area and this lady was local and had good reviews! I've never done yoga before so have nothing to compare it to but we did lots of breathing and some back strengthening and postural exercises. I'm about as made for yoga as a penguin so i must have looked comical!

Newmum110 · 20/05/2021 13:22

Thanks @RaeRae84 and @bluemagicalsky I feel so lucky to be pregnant just didn't realise how awful it could be. Was hoping for 2 babies close in age but I think now we will have to be happy with 1!!!!!!

GWhiteley · 20/05/2021 13:43

@Taybz plenty of heartburn here as well. Normally in the evening or just before I go to bed. Did used to get it more frequent but it has died down a bit.

My worst thing is brushing my teeth as it makes me retch every time

RaeRae84 · 20/05/2021 13:43

@Newmum110 don't worry you aren't alone in feeling like this. I do feel really lucky but I've not found it easy. I really hope it eases for you soon 💗

CherLW · 20/05/2021 15:23

Any advice will be greatly appreciated!

So I’m really ready hoping breast feeding will work out for me 🤞🏼... but I’ve been reading up and people get bottles too just incase.... does this mean I need to add bottles, formula, a sterilising machine, milk warmer etc to my list?

Sorry if it’s a stupid question but I have no idea!

Thanks in advance ❤️

Fatmunks · 20/05/2021 15:32

@CherLW Absolutely no experience (expecting first baby), so feel free to disregard my advice.
Rather than buying all the bottle feeding equipment, perhaps saving it on a wishlist and putting away money for it would be helpful. That way, it's easily accessible should you need it, and you won't have wasted money and have a bunch of stuff cluttering your home if you don't.

Also planning to breastfeed and going the "play it by ear" route, so I've bought a few babygros for initially and put all of the things that I already have at home that might be helpful for baby together (think blankets and similar soft things). First baby in both our families and of friends, so v much aware (and been told) that we'll be swamped with gifts.

x

CherLW · 20/05/2021 15:36

@Fatmunks first baby for me too and there is so much to consider!
I think that’s a good idea as right now looking at the amount of variety there is just for the bottles is overwhelming! I keep having to remind myself that if I need it I can get it delivered pretty quick.

A lot of my family and friends have asked me what I want which is ideal as I can be a little picky with clothes and things but I just think it’s so lovely how so many people want to buy things ❤️
