Hi all!

Just got my BFP! Approximately 3 weeks and 6 days. Due date calculator has put me to give birth around 8th January. Feeling so nervous, have had two MCs and then thankfully a much loved DC. Symptoms currently are extremely sore boobs, mild cramping, and upper hip / thigh pain on my right leg! Would love to chat to others who've just found out and want somewhere to refer back to!

@Trixabelle84

Can I join please? Got my BFP this morningGrin . Absolutely terrified something is going to go wrong, been feeling nauseous but I think that may be anxiety. First time pregnancy, I'm 36 so no spring chicken Grin
Congratulations!!!

Another older mum here, had my first at 38 (DD will be 2 in July) and just found out I am pregnant with my second having just turned 40!

MrsRyan15 · 05/05/2021 14:45

I'm feeling the pressure to tell work sooner rather than later. The other manager in my team (who is my good friend) is also pregnant and due 2 months before me.

Our manager has just been talking to me about her maternity cover and I feel so guilty not telling her that she will need cover for me as well.

Ideally I would like it to hold off telling her until I am 12 weeks, but will see how things go. I want to give them enough time to arrange cover and have a good handover, its going to be a huge blow having us both off.

Hi ladies

Benji17 · 05/05/2021 15:20

@newtoallthisx congratulations!! I'm super early on, only 3 weeks 4 days, totally wasn't expecting a positive yesterday (unless I got ovulation way off but I am pretty confident)

@MrsRyan15 that does sound tricky, but I guess having a bit of time between when yourself and your colleague will have told them will make it a little less of a blow, doubling up on the pregnancy announcements super soon would possibly unnecessarily stress them out... Or that's what I'd tell myself anyway 😂

@RHODXB thanks for letting me know I was so confused as so many people seem to be getting early scans

bages1977 · 05/05/2021 15:29

@Benji17 Yeah sorry the NHS doesn't offer an early scan unless there is a good reason. I'm going private for my early scan as i had a MC previously and my pregnancy anxiety is through the roof 🙈 Hopefully will be able to enjoy it more after that.

Congratulations on all of the new BFP's guys ❤️

TheLovleyChebbyMcGee · 05/05/2021 17:16

Its really difficult telling work, I told mine yesterday. I'm barely 5 weeks, but I'm a scientist so need to avoid certain stuff for safety reasons. I hate that people know already, just in case something goes wrong!

TinyTickler · 05/05/2021 18:50

@zeromango how's things today? Hope the spotting has stopped.

Clarkey86 · 05/05/2021 18:59

Hi Everyone

There’s a couple of different threads for those of us due in January and I thought it might be good to try and bring us all together? It’s a bit easier to follow one thread than 3 smile

The link if anyone wants to move across is:

(Ive just realised the date is wrong but have asked them to change it Blush)

Katiekattty · 05/05/2021 21:47

@willithappen I don’t understand the dating at all. According to NHS calculator I’m due the 6 jan and on my app it says 5weeks exactly. And I forget who posted above due the 7th Jan 5weeks 5 days it’s really confusing.

Katiekattty · 05/05/2021 21:49

I have been having the worst jaw pains (TMD). I couldn’t understand what triggered it. So I used Dr. Google and apparently morning sickness can trigger TMD, anyone heard of this?

willithappen · 06/05/2021 05:43

@lovelylittlesunflower

Hi Everyone, I got my BFP a few weeks ago, I'm due 7th of Jan, and I'm 5 weeks 5days. It's so weird as I had no symptoms really....We've been trying for a while and I've been doing the whole tww but this time I just got fed up so stopped symptom spotting. Anyway I got super anxious, panic attacks, doc put me on meds and then it occurred to me to do a test and it was positive.
@Katiekattty I think I'm the same as you but this got me confused with dates as I'm due 6th Jan but I am just exactly 5 weeks today
Firsttry132 · 06/05/2021 05:56

@willithappen @Katiekattty I think it’s something to do with your cycle length if it’s 28/29/30 days etc it can change it! I could be wrong though x

willithappen · 06/05/2021 06:47

@Firsttry132 that makes sense. Just strange how it all works isn't it? Haha

I just secretly wish I was further along than I am.

Firsttry132 · 06/05/2021 07:09

@willithappen I know the feeling! I’m 5 weeks today, due 6th January sometime but my cycles can be anything from 26 days to 30 days so I could be well out! Wish I was one of them people who find out at like 9 weeks pregnant 😂

Howiesgirl · 06/05/2021 07:14

Hello, Id like to join! We found out just over a week ago. Due 8th Jan. We've been trying for years and had to resort to IVF. It's been long difficult and heartbreaking at times. I feel a little broken by the process if I'm honest but finally got the BFP and I'm hoping to start to heal. :-) I've completely avoided all pregnant women and pregnancy related programs websites etc as it was just too painful. So I feel like I don't know anything (!) I'm a bit scared to join just-in-case I'm tempting fate but I really want to enjoy every moment of this pregnancy as I know it will be my only one.

I'm already relieved to hear I'm not the only one who bought a dozen tests... I've been doing them just to watch that little line appear... and quietly smile to myself on the toilet... lols!!!

TinyTickler · 06/05/2021 09:09

@Howiesgirl huge congrats and welcome

Katiekattty · 06/05/2021 12:36

@Firsttry132 that makes complete sense now. I thought I was missing a trick there.

Firsttry132 · 06/05/2021 13:18

@zeromango how are you? X

zeromango · 06/05/2021 13:21

@Howiesgirl welcome and huge congrats!! Wishing you a lovely sticky bean. You're due the same day as me! it's so hard taking it day by day but hopefully it passes quickly for all of us! Definitely relate to the tempting fate part!

To update ... still having brown spotting when wiping and cramping but praying all will be ok. Sorry I've been so so rubbish at keeping up with the thread, how are we all today?

Took another test ( ha ha I'm gonna be broke ) still lovely and dark and still having sore boobs. God the waiting is driving me nuts! @RHODXB how amazing you get such early scans and so glad all is well - gonna see if DP fancies moving countries for 9 months Grin

@Firsttry132 I'm the same as you :) I did IVF so know my dates exactly though and feel like I have known from the second I got pregnant so feels foreeever lol

@Howiesgirl congrats lovely! Also an IVF girl here so I'm with ya! Just went 5 weeks today 🤞🏻 scan 2 weeks today

Firsttry132 · 06/05/2021 13:48

@willithappen aw yay you’ll have to post a picture when you have your 7 week scan so I can see what my bean probably looks like 😂 I’m going to wait until the 29th I think so I’ll be half way between 8 and 9 weeks!
@zeromango fingers crossed for you 🤞🏻🤞🏻

ditsyprint · 06/05/2021 14:16

Hi all, can I join you all! I'm due in January (the 6th according to my app)

We found out on Monday which coincidently was also my 40th birthday Shock I assumed I would be booking my covid vaccine appointment this week, not a midwife booking in appointment!

I have a 15 year old daughter and a 10 month old baby girl.

We started trying for a baby last month as I assumed due to my age it might take a while but we've been very lucky. (Although I now have multiple bottles of birthday booze that I can just look at WineBlush)

Looking forward to getting to know you all and congratulations on your bfps!FlowersFlowers

Katiekattty · 06/05/2021 14:34

@ditsyprint welcome!! I’m due the 6th Jan too.

Howiesgirl · 06/05/2021 17:56

Thank you @TinyTickler @zeromango @periwinkle86 infertility is an utterly dark place to be (this is my first success after 4yrs trying). Since I found out I literally smile from dawn to dusk... I feel like such a weight has been lifted :-) I wish I knew people local to me who are at the same stage? This is a great forum but you can't beat (decaf) coffee in person !
