Hi all!

Just got my BFP! Approximately 3 weeks and 6 days. Due date calculator has put me to give birth around 8th January. Feeling so nervous, have had two MCs and then thankfully a much loved DC. Symptoms currently are extremely sore boobs, mild cramping, and upper hip / thigh pain on my right leg! Would love to chat to others who've just found out and want somewhere to refer back to!
@Anon222021 yes I'm booked for Wednesday week, I'll be 7w6d then.. hopefully enough to pick up. My brother is coming home a few days later so would like to tell him as were quite close all being well
Let us know how it goes! I booked mine last night for two weeks on Sunday, I'll be 7 weeks 2 days then
@AAR25 It is private so people can see the group but not any of the members if that makes sense? Also the name doesn't have pregnancy or babies or mumsnet in it just in case!
Please could you send me the link also? :)

Hi all,

Can I join in? Got my positive a week ago, it's my first too! I think I'm between 4-5 weeks, according to my period it's 5+3 weeks but I ovulate quite late.

I'm just wondering about others' experience of the process, my GP is only online atm so when I sent them an enquiry they just sent me back a link and told me to self-refer to my local hospital maternity services. I rang the Maternity unit cause I had some questions and they told me I'd have my first appt around 9-10 weeks, followed by the dating scan.

It seems an awfully long time to wait without speaking to anyone or anyone confirming anything in a medical capacity...is that just normal process?! Feel like I need someone professional to actually confirm things and give me some advice. I'm trying not to test every few days, consistent strong positives so far but I feel like that's the only way I know what's going on in there!

Missingcoffee22 · 21/05/2021 11:34

@Foxtree all very normal. My first pregnancy i was kind of shocked no one ever checks you are pregnant. I just had bloods done and a booking in appointment around 11 weeks to get things rolling with the midwives, then a scan at 13 weeks was the first time you could say anyone "checked" I was pregnant. Same as you it was just a self referral process, so didn't actually speak to anyone until booking in.
Currently 7+3 and have had a letter for my 12 week scan but no other contact as yet.

Foxtree · 21/05/2021 11:40

@missingcoffee22 Ok great, thanks so much. Was wondering if I was off the radar somehow but good to know! :)

Blueeyedgirl21 · 21/05/2021 13:25

@Foxtree I’m exactly the same ! I’m supposed to be 6 plus 2 now and definitely feeling sick etc but the anxiety of not knowing what’s happening is getting to me! It’s like you have to act normally whilst having a trillion questions whilst googling everything and fearing the worst whilst feel nauseous all the time !

Jefferson5 · 21/05/2021 14:42

@TiffanyAR I’m the same! My boobs don’t hurt as much and I’ve started spotting brown blood so I’m so worried and stressed! Just need to calm down and know this could be hormone changes and implantation etc. Same will be for you!

TiffanyAR · 21/05/2021 17:29

@Jefferson5 oh no! Hang tight! Fingers crossed for you!

MessyBob89 · 21/05/2021 17:30

Please can I join! Got my BFP this week after trying since October with a MC in December. I'm 3+6 today, dd 29/01/22 😊

Jefferson5 · 21/05/2021 20:54

@TiffanyAR thanks! Boobs feel more sensitive and the spotting has stopped for now so hopefully was just implantation.

@MessyBob89 congrats! I think mine is around that date as I’m 4 weeks today.

LilmissCa · 21/05/2021 21:45

@Jefferson5 sounds like implantation.. exact right timing for it

Jefferson5 · 22/05/2021 06:30

@LilmissCa oh good. I’m worried every time I go to the loo 😂 you’re right about the timing

Jefferson5 · 22/05/2021 06:35

So can implantation bleeding happen after a positive pregnancy test? I assumed implantation happens then the HCG hormone raises then you get positive test? I’ve googled but I think it can

RHODXB · 22/05/2021 07:13

@Jefferson5 I had bleeding/ spotting on the day my period was due. Stressed for weeks but Had a scan at 7 weeks the other day and so far all good. 🙏

Anyone just got their BFP and due in Jan 2022?
RHODXB · 22/05/2021 07:13

@Jefferson5 the bleeding was the day of and after my positive test too!

bethabean · 22/05/2021 08:26

Please can I join? I'm due 15th of Jan!

MessyBob89 · 22/05/2021 09:42

@Jefferson5

Thank you 😊

Did someone mention there was a FB group? I'm actually in one from another thread but there's not so many of us so be great to join another

Jefferson5 · 22/05/2021 12:03

@RHODXB aww congrats! Thank you for the reassurance.

@bethabean of course, congrats!! :)

@MessyBob89 yes there is, I wasn’t sent it in a message. I shall see if I can copy and paste it to you

Jefferson5 · 22/05/2021 12:06

Sent you the link, hope it worked. First time sending a PM on here 😂

Happy weekend everyone.

A bit of an update from me. We went for a scan yesterday at 7+6, which was a follow up at the EPU following our first scan at 5+6 after a lot of back pain. In the first scan we saw 3 gestational sacs, all with yolks and one with a clear embryo with a heartbeat.

Yesterday our scan showed that 2 embryos had continued to develop, one at 14.3mm and one at 14.1mm. Both with great heartbeats. The other sac had shrunk and therefore I think a blighted ovum?

I feel awful saying it but my partner and I were quite relieved. Three would have been extremely challenging as we rent a little East London 2 bed flat. Two is still pretty bonkers but it’s something we could manage and we can get excited about.

So pleased to see the heartbeats and that they are growing well.

I’d also be interested in joining the Facebook group in the next couple of weeks as I’m starting to feel a bit more confident in my pregnancy.

CorneliaaSt · 22/05/2021 16:30

I'm due January 8th ☺️

Missingcoffee22 · 22/05/2021 21:15

@penny92 what a roller coaster! Glad you are feeling okay now.. and great to see two strong little heartbeats!

TiffanyAR · 23/05/2021 04:43

@penny92 wow! How incredible!
I can imagine how freaked out you were! I also live in London in a 2 bed and have history of twins in the family so I also was a bit scared of this sort of thing! But at my (very) early scan of 4w+6 days they only saw one gestational sac so phew! I am just praying this one will stick after my MC in October...
How are you feeling atm? Symptoms? I am sure you will be fantastic east london parents anyway:)))

Blueeyedgirl21 · 23/05/2021 19:38

Ugh I’ve just had some pink discharge when I wiped after the loo. I have no pain ... what do you guys think I should do?? See how it goes? Has anyone else experienced this? Am 6 weeks 3 days
