Hi all!

Just got my BFP! Approximately 3 weeks and 6 days. Due date calculator has put me to give birth around 8th January. Feeling so nervous, have had two MCs and then thankfully a much loved DC. Symptoms currently are extremely sore boobs, mild cramping, and upper hip / thigh pain on my right leg! Would love to chat to others who've just found out and want somewhere to refer back to!

Congratulations everybody 🥳

Please can I join? Got my BFP last week.

Is anybody else experiencing period like aches/cramps? It comes and goes but is driving me mad a bit but dr google says not to worry as long as it's not significant pain. Wondering when I can expect it to go away

weathervane123 · 17/05/2021 17:50

Congratulations to all the new joiners!

@AAR25 I'm 5 weeks today (possibly running a little behind) and I've had cramps just like a period too. Bad at first, around the time period was due, but they've mostly eased off now. I do have a weird ache in my leg that nobody can explain though! If you're not spotting/bleeding, or in serious pain, I think it's normal, but who knows when it'll actually bugger off! Soon I hope!

AAR25 · 17/05/2021 18:06

@weathervane123 thank you good to know it's not just me and glad to hear it's easing off for you.

I will be 5 weeks on Friday so fingers crossed it will start to ease. But saying that, it is the only symptom I've had really so as long as it doesn't get too painful I don't mind it as it's reassuring!

Is this a positive? Or am I seeing things.... I did it Sunday morning.
AF usually would have started Saturday(25 day cycle, very regular). But last month is was 3 weeks late. I thought I had a MC but when I went to see Dr, her pregnancy test showed up negative.
So this time I'm scared to say its a positive. I will have to repeat on Sunday. But what do you guys think?

I did a clear blue digital as mine was that faint and it said 1-2 weeks. Its there in black and white then.

I’m six weeks tomorrow ... just did a big stretch and it honestly felt like something in my groin below my hip bone snapped ! It feels a bit better now but I’m obsessively worrying over ectopic pregnancy now as it’s one sided twinges ! It is surely muscular and I have no bleeding or anything like that (touch wood) but god this is so stressful! Who knew 😂😂

UmmMaryam2019 · 18/05/2021 19:37

@ Lchappers

I repeated it couldn't wait any longer.

This is defo a positive! Yay! 🎉🎊

4 weeks!! No symptoms lol

I am so glad for WFH right now. The past few days I have had to have a 3pm nap. It’s such a strange tiredness, just comes on really quickly and I’m like nope need to sleep.

Is anyone else continuing to exercise? I’m used to doing quite intense cross training. I’ve spoken to the coaches at my gym and they are all aware and said I’m fine to continue, but it seems so weird lifting weights. I remember being younger and people not letting pregnant women even lift their shopping bags. I was going to raise it ay my first midwife appointment in a few weeks, but in the meantime I’ve read it’s fine to continue as long as I reduce the intensity and to listen to my body.

Anon343 · 18/05/2021 19:51

Hi! Congrats everyone 🥳 Been lurking here for a while.. got my BFP over a week ago and have been anxiously waiting on my 7 week scan at the EPU in a few days. I had an ectopic a year ago so any twinge or pain sends me straight to the loo to check... so glad to be working from home!!

My boobs have been so sore for the last few weeks and getting cramps daily. It’s really reassuring seeing other people having these pains too!

Missnataliex · 18/05/2021 19:52

@Tulipwood I'm so glad someone brought this up! I usually go to the gym 5+ times a week and do 30 min spin every day with heavy weight training. If you've always been active I believe it's safe to continue however on lighter exercises! I'm just taking a little break for a week or 2! I'm scared to move too much! Xx

Missnataliex · 18/05/2021 19:52

@Anon343 congratulations! It's super comforting isn't it? I'm reading through the comments and I've had most of them and I'm like phew! Not just me! X

Missingcoffee22 · 18/05/2021 19:54

@Tulipwood it is totally fine to continue doing what you already do, you just shouldn't try to increase intensity, weight etc. Your body will tell you when to slow down and you just wanna be careful from trimester 2 with abs. In my last pregnancy I was super active and kept spinning (just eventually upped my bars), lifting, doing circuits etc. You just make adjustments when you need to!

Katiekattty · 18/05/2021 19:56

@Tulipwood I will but haven’t for the last few weeks because I’ve felt awful. You can still lift etc but some thing you have to chance. Like you can’t breathe and brace the same way so no valsava. Avoid any exercises that causes coning. Pelvic floor training....
I’ve finally started to feel less like a zombie so once I’m back from my weeks holiday. Then back in the gym for me.

Can I join in?
I found out yesterday, it say on my clear blue test that I'm 2-3 weeks which I know is wrong.

I'm 38, my youngest is 16 and I have no idea what anyone is talking about 🙈

Missnataliex · 18/05/2021 20:15

@ijustgiveup congratulations to you! That's absolutely amazing! I'm clueless too 🤣🤣

Blueeyedgirl21 · 18/05/2021 20:51

@Missingcoffee22 yes I have very bendy hips anyway I can turn my feet out backwards anyway so I feel this will make them more bendy?!

TiffanyAR · 18/05/2021 20:57

Hi everyone! I had an MC last November but got a BFP about 1 week ago now and went for a very early scan this morning, saw the gestational sac. Keep your fingers crossed for me this one sticks ladies please!
Smile

Blueeyedgirl21 · 19/05/2021 17:45

Hi everyone !!! I’m sending super good thoughts to everyone today. I’m trying to distract myself with work this week!

Anyone else struggling with nausea LATER in the day? The mornings I am just tired; then I get a burst of energy but feel SICK 4-7pm ish!!

TiffanyAR · 19/05/2021 21:23

Hey @Blueeyedgirl21 how far along are you? I don't have any nausea yet but I'm only very early on, 5 weeks tomorrow so I will let you know when it happens. In any case it's very wrongly called "morning sickness" it should be called "pregnancy nausea" because lots of mamas do not have it in the morning! Haha who came up with it ?!

TiffanyAR · 19/05/2021 21:29

@Missingcoffee22 I would love to be added to the FB group too!
To all of you who mentioned cramps, don't worry: if they feel muscular and like something is being pulled/stretched it's ligament pains. The uterus is stretching and we are secreting relaxin and this is the result of that. If however you have bleeding and it feels very much like period cramps, contact your GP ASAP. I had a miscarriage last year and it didn't feel like these ligament pains, I find they are slightly different to "period cramping" - and that was what miscarrying felt like.

Blueeyedgirl21 · 19/05/2021 22:02

@TiffanyAR I’m 6 weeks ! I seem to feel nauseous between 4-8.30 ish then I eat and feel better .. who knows!!
