Well ladies, after losing my mucas plus slowly throughout the day yesterday with one and off cramps, my waters broke at home at 17:20. Went to the Mat day unit to be assessed at 19:15 but by this point I was in quite a bit of pain - like serious period pains. After led down hooked up to machines they checked and I was 3 cm end fully effaced (sp?!) so I got sent up to delivery suite at 20:30. Pains by this point by intense and by about 22:00 I was 10 cm dilated and felt ready to push. Baby boy arrived just after 23:00!!
At 36+4 he is technically prem by a couple of days but hoping we will still be able to go home later today 🤞🏻
What a day! I haven’t even finished work for Mat leave yet! I thought he would be a July baby x

Taylor1896 · 05/06/2021 04:33

Omg @Tatty1987 congratulations!! So happy for you! Enjoy your newborn bubble

pookypup · 05/06/2021 04:49

Ah, lovely @Tatty1987 - that’s a speedy arrival!

Is that 3 babies on the 4th?

My little girl slept beautifully, but I was too wired to settle and make the most of it! Managed to get about 3 hours in the end.

Humpty11 · 05/06/2021 06:21

Congratulations to everyone having their babies 😍😍. I hope your hospital stays are short and you’re home with your beautiful babies soon ♥️

Sweetmad · 05/06/2021 08:12

@Tatty1987 Awh lovely news congratulations! X

AlRRRR · 05/06/2021 08:22

@Tatty1987 wow and you were just asking about the mucus plug yday! What a fast delivery ! Congrats!

PinkPlantCase · 05/06/2021 09:56

Congrats to all the new babies and mummies! Grin

How have peoples experiences of Covid regulations in hospitals been? Has your partner been able to be around as much as you wanted?

MimiDaisy11 · 05/06/2021 11:30

Congrats to everyone who has had their baby!

I went into the hospital yesterday with reduced movement. Everything is thankfully fine but since I'm over 39 weeks they said I could start induction. I decided just to go for the membrane sweep but it didn't work as there's no sign baby is ready to come out soon. Only a few days until due date but pretty sure I'll go over.

Sweetmad · 05/06/2021 13:26

Hi ladies hope you’re all doing ok! Had a very manic morning with my show coming away and waters deciding to break after me only starting my maternity leave yesterday morning! Baby doesn’t want to waste any time 😂I called triage as I’m only 37+6 and they’ve confirmed waters have gone and have been sent home to come back in if labour starts within the next 24 hours or am booked for an induction tomorrow morning. Any tips to get labour moving? I’m currently bouncing on my ball watching the F1😂any tips would be gratefully received x

Taylor1896 · 05/06/2021 13:52

@Sweetmad eek! How exciting for you! Try nipple stimulation, hand expressing some colostrum (videos on youtube), sex, lots of laughter, cuddles, bounce bounce bounce on that ball x x x

AlRRRR · 05/06/2021 13:53

@Sweetmad Can I ask how they checked if your waters had gone, do they do a scan or just have a look in there to see? x

Humpty11 · 05/06/2021 14:03

@Sweetmad wow how exciting!! The baby obviously didn’t think you needed to enjoy any downtime before they arrived! Try and walk as much as you can and drink plenty. I don’t think you’re supposed to have sex once your waters have gone because of infection risk.

Sweetmad · 05/06/2021 14:04

@Taylor1896 thankyou! Have been told no sex to avoid infection but will give the others a go! X

@AIRRRR the midwife took my pad that I had put on and checked from that. I also soaked through another 3 whilst I was in triage and she could tell from looking at it that they had gone. She said if she wasn’t sure she would do a speculum but didn’t need to. I think they can also check from urine dip too x

Sweetmad · 05/06/2021 14:04

@Humpty11 I know I thought I’d at least get one day of rest. He has others ideas 🙈yes told no sex because of infection so think I might go for some laps around the garden soon in the sunshine! X

AlRRRR · 05/06/2021 14:10

@Sweetmad ahhh! That makes sense, sorry for all questions, just curious 🤣🤣 How did it feel when they went at home? Was it so so obvious?

Sweetmad · 05/06/2021 14:12

@AIRRRR don’t apologise aha I kept asking everyone who I saw ‘how will I know’ and everyone told me that I’ll just know haha. I got out of bed and thought I’d weed myself! And then it just wouldn’t stop 😂feels like I lost all bladder control but it wasn’t urine haha x

Surfermummytobe · 05/06/2021 14:16

Due date today!! I had a sweep booked for the afternoon but my contractions started at 5am this morning!! I've lost some of my mucus plug, no waters yet but regular contractions, eeee !!

AlRRRR · 05/06/2021 14:18

@Sweetmad Aw thanks! It’s my 2nd and I’m 37+ 2, with 1st I just started contractions day before due date, no mucus plug (i think) and no waters breaking either, just she was born 24 hours later on due date 🤣🤣

AlRRRR · 05/06/2021 14:19

@Sweetmad So just curious as to how it go beforehand etc, yday I fell onto the ground ny sitting on a kids chair haha I had a gush of water but MW said it wasn’t waters breaking and pads have been okay, so that’s why I was asking! Must have been a huge wee 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️

Waitingforbabypage · 05/06/2021 16:04

Oh it's all so exciting that it's our month!!!

Congrats to those who have had their little ones already- you lucky ducks!

Good luck to those who are suuuuper close to meeting their new arrivals!

I'm due on Monday, having a few twinges but that's nothing new, I'm feeling ok about it all, trying not to get impatient (but I am totally failing!)
My kids are so excited, they keep asking how I'm feeling and if I think she'll be here soon, my stepson is struggling a bit with the fact he won't be the youngest anymore and is being quite the attention sucker. You can't even have a convo with his dad without him wedging his face in the way and interrupting. Good fun.

Normando91 · 05/06/2021 20:29

I’m loving seeing everyone’s updates and hearing about your gorgeous arrivals 💕

@AIRRRR I hope you are ok after your fall... although I must admit the image made me laugh a little 🙈

I’m trying not to get impatient but every twinge has me hoping!! Baby boy has been ridiculously active tonight but I have ate meringue and let’s face it, that’s just all sugar! Does anyone else feel baby battering what I’m assuming is their cervix? It makes me jump every time it happens... confusing though as only his head is down there so like, is he head butting me 😂

AlRRRR · 05/06/2021 20:55

@Normando91 Oh it was nothing but funny!!!!!! Just weird that this gush came from nowhere and I’d just been to toilet so 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️.

Mine is moving loads on an evening now, really uncomfy and feels like she’s corkscrewing her way out of my cervix by force
