It's crazy to think our babies will be here this month, I'm due 10th June, I've got a growth 7th June as previously the consultant said they won't let me go past 40 weeks.
On one hand I'm so excited for the baby to be here but on the other she can stay in for a bit longer because I'm so nervous about the birth 🙈
Wishing us all lots of luck for an easy labour x

fluffybunny86 · 01/06/2021 16:36

@TerryRose no mention yet. Two weeks ago our midwife mentioned that they would discuss options if needed at next appointment. Really dont want a medical induction but starting to really consider a sweep tomorrow if offered.

Not sure why but its only just started to bother me the last two days. Was happily working until Thursday last week ans would have carried on. Maybe its a combination of stopping the job I love and being bored waiting for baby to finally arrive.

Edelweiss2020 · 01/06/2021 19:36

So nice to see so many babies appearing now 🥰
I'm due a week today, have an appointment with midwife tomorrow to discuss things and potentially have a sweep. Got induction booked for my due date if he doesn't arrive before then. Have lost some of my plug and having irregular cramps and back pain, but no idea what it's meant to feel like so 🤷‍♀️

Everything has gone fine all pregnancy and baby is fine but due to personal circumstances and anxiety they've offered me induction.
Started off wanting a lovely relaxed birth but now I just want my baby out safely whatever it takes, so hoping we can meet him soon ❤

Hi girls ❤️ anyone else having contractions. I am 38+3 and had a sweep yesterday at 1cm dilated. Pains are lasting around 50 seconds every 5-10 minutes at the moment although going through some inconsistent periods. It feels very different to me this time! Any tips? Hope everyone is well. Congratulations to all the mamas of beautiful babies already appearing 😊 💐

Humpty11 · 02/06/2021 14:08

@teaformummy How exciting! sounds like something might be starting! Absolutely nothing here and wouldn’t even think I was pregnant if I didn’t have a massive stomach 😂🤦🏼‍♀️. Have you tried a bath or paracetamol to see if it settles? I remember when I was induced with my son I thought contractions were starting but the warm bath and paracetamol seemed to calm everything down again.
I don’t even know how far apart they’re supposed to be before you call them, maybe call the maternity unit to see what they say?
Fingers crossed you don’t have to wait too long to meet your baby!!

teaformummy · 02/06/2021 14:20

@Humpty11 No not ready to go in quite yet! I think my midwife said 3 in 10. I know with me it will be slow going! 😂 But im feeling grand and relaxed. Good idea about the bath, i might try and sneak one after toddler goes to sleep.

Jinglebells87 · 02/06/2021 15:23

Happy Due Date to all my fellow 2nd of Juners Wink! I wish something was starting but I think he is snug as a bug in there. Trying to just relax and not trying to start labour as I'm not convinced anything particularly works and I will just get disappointed. Going to just enjoy as much "me time" as possible until the big day arrives! Easier said than done with 2 kids already Grin. Tonight I'm having a bath and doing a face mask.
What is everyone else doing to pass the time?

TerryRose · 02/06/2021 15:30

@teaformummy ahh so exciting !!!
I'm a day behind you , 38 weeks and 2 days, sweep hasn't been mentioned to be yet so nothing happening at the moment , no pains at all, I'm feeling very impatient today for some reason ! So keeping myself busy🤣

Humpty11 · 02/06/2021 15:33

@Jinglebells87 I feel exactly the same, although only 39 weeks today. Part of me keeps wondering if I should try and express some colostrum again to see if it kick starts anything but also I’m quite enjoying being so fat I can’t do anything and enjoying having a little more energy than I’ll have when she arrives!!
I have been daydreaming about what I can’t wait to do/ eat/ drink when she’s here and I think it’s got to be sleeping on my tummy, eating pate/ anything that currently gives me heartburn and having a nice cold beer 🤤.
Enjoy your bath and face mask!

AlRRRR · 02/06/2021 15:51

@teaformummy Good luck! I think from what I remember you can just ring the place where you’re going to give birth and see what they say. I think it’s when contractions are consistently so many mins apart and don’t ease or tailor off :)

Did you ask for a sweep at 38 weeks or was it offered, just out of interest x

teaformummy · 02/06/2021 16:00

@AlRRRR I was offered sweeps from 37wks, i am in NI though I know sometimes England is different.

AlRRRR · 02/06/2021 16:10

@teaformummy Oh wow! So it must have set something going then! Good luck and keep us updated! x

Jinglebells87 · 02/06/2021 16:51

I like everything on your list @Humpty11! I would also add being able to use a hot tub. We replaced ours about a month ago and I've been desperate to get in it with a nice glass of wine!

@teaformummy that is really interesting that you get offered a sweep so early. I did ask but they don't do them here until 41 weeks so I've only got a week to wait. I think a sweep started me off last time. Good luck!

PinkPlantCase · 02/06/2021 17:53

How exciting @teaformummy! I’m 39+1 and have been having some kind of period type pain for the last few days. Nothing regular, it’s either a constant ache or nothing at all so definitely just Braxton Hicks.

I have been so hungry though! I woke up at 5am needing a slice of toast today Grin

I’ve had quite a nice time pottering about the house and garden. I had bath that lasted nearly 2 hours 😂 you can tell I don’t already have kids

BethannieW · 02/06/2021 18:00

@teaformummy
Sounds like the start to me! Hope it’s not too drawn out, and good luck, good luck! Every 4 minutes or 3 in 10, so they say. Maybe slightly larger gaps if you’ve had one already...

@Jinglebells87
Fellow 2nd of Juner! raises hand We thought it might be coming last night - I’d been getting BH all day, and they were quite regular and painful by evening! But they weren’t labour... sigh.

Also have 2 children already, but we’ve shipped them off to grandma for half term/due date week, so I’m having a ball of a school holiday! 😂. Albeit a bit hot! Making the most of no kids and celebrating due date by going out for a curry tonight with the other half - obvs! Haha

Jinglebells87 · 02/06/2021 20:50

@BethannieW I like your style shipping the kids offGrin! Did you go past your due date with your other two? Mine were both born at 40 + 8 but with DD labour started 3 days before that and with DS it started in the morning and he was born just before midnight. This one has been trouble from the start to I'm fulling expecting to need inducing in a couple weeks time!
P.s enjoy your curry, that's what we are having tomorrow! 😀

BethannieW · 02/06/2021 22:02

Curry and child free company was great, thank you!

That’s remarkably consistent, at least regarding the day they came!

Similar to you, I had one very drawn out labour - my first - and one much quicker. My older one went about a week late. My waters broke but I didn’t go into spontaneous labour, and ended up with a very drawn out induction, complicated by a womb infection because of the large gap between waters breaking and delivery.

My second was far, far easier. Spontaneous labour at about 39 weeks. Started in the morning, delivered very late in the same day. Sounds quite similar to your second - although she came earlier than yours.

So all that, compounded by loads of BH/false labour in the last 4-6 weeks, means I have no idea when or how I’ll go! I think at this stage when real labour arrives I won’t even recognise it!!

Jinglebells87 · 03/06/2021 04:09

@BethannieW - well I hope number 3 makes an even easier appearance!

I've now been getting a lot of braxton hicks. Some a bit painful. I went to sleep and woke up in some more pain but can't quite figure out if this is the start of it or if I have gone mad and my brain is tricking me! It might just be a dodgy tummy Grin!!

Good luck everyone 👍

Humpty11 · 03/06/2021 07:26

@Jinglebells87 fingers crossed it’ll ramp up soon and you’ll be cuddling your baby before you know it 🤞🏼🤞🏼.
I keep having a dodgy stomach and think it must be my body clearing everything out but it’s been going on for a week now and nothing so it must just be a change in hormones or something 🤷🏼‍♀️.

Sitchervice · 03/06/2021 11:40

For days I've been like when's he coming when's he coming. My car has just been taken to the garage for repair and now I'm like STAY IN STAY IN!! Because we all know full well irony is a thing 😂 no sign yet so fingers crossed its NOT today

PinkPlantCase · 03/06/2021 11:45

@Sitchervice my midwife rang yesterday to say that they can’t staff the home birth service for tonight so try not to go into labour 😂

I’m thinking very strong STAY IN thoughts too! Obviously if something does get going we can still go to the birth centre, it’d be Sod’s law though wouldn’t it! I’m quite looking forward to using the pool in my living room.

Hope your car isn’t in for too long.

AlRRRR · 03/06/2021 15:09

Afternoon. A strange thing has happened to past two days, I noticed that 2 toenails have lifted at the sides and they just pulled off with no pain, google suggests it could be low Iron and my Iron levels were 10.5 when tested at 28 weeks, so they are at the lowest end for when Iron tablets would be prescribed, has anyone else has any nail issues / their Iron levels tested again (I’m 37 wks today)? :)

Sitchervice · 03/06/2021 15:43

@AlRRRR oh GOD that's horrific poor you!!!

I had mine retested due to weird heart pattern. It went up to 115 bpm whilst I was sat down. They got nothing and just said it's me being pregnant, it happens litterly every day now.

AlRRRR · 03/06/2021 15:47

@Sitchervice My HR has been high all pregnancy, 95 resting and sometimes 100, but no one’s ever said anything about it, it’s always around 95-99 when they test the Bp so not far off your 115 🤣🤣🤣

The nail thing, well, they’re not painful, just noticed past few days the edges has lifted and the whole thing came off 🤣🤣 haha

TerryRose · 03/06/2021 15:55

@AlRRRR same thing happened the nail on my little toe, I thought maybe I had banged it but had no memory . My iron was also low, it was 10.6 weeks also I think and they tested again and it was 11.7 at around 26 weeks, I've been taking pregnacare and active iron so hoping my levels have remained or improved, it's been over
a month since it was tested and won't get it tested again as they are unable to do blood tests at the moment as a result of the health system being hacked 🙃🙃🙃
