@AIRRRR I had mine rechecked at 34 and 37 weeks but only because I had to have a manual removal of my placenta last time. Might be worth ringing the doctors and mentioning about it though because they may want to recheck your levels or start you on iron for the duration of your pregnancy.

AlRRRR · 03/06/2021 16:23

@TerryRose Oh so not just me then! Happened a few weeks ago with another nail and thought that I must have trapped it, now other 2, good news is, they aren’t bleeding/ sore / red, there is already nail growing through 🤣🤣🤣

@Humpty11 manual removal is my worst nightmare 😩😩😩 bless you! I had blood loss last time as I needed 7 stitches, I’ve left midwife a message asking for a blood test

pookypup · 03/06/2021 20:45

So I’m having my ELCS tomorrow Grin.

Have been trying to keep busy all day and not think about it, but I really need to sort through my notes and figure out what meds I need and when.

It’s not until the afternoon, which doesn’t seem like the best slot - worried if they are busy I may need to wait until Monday. DH is happy though as he can just take a half day and then have two weeks solid of paternity leave!

Nesski · 03/06/2021 21:51

@pookypup yes just keep busy and cross check you have everything you need! It's so exciting, hopefully you manage to have it tomorrow otherwise you'll need to keep busy all weekend Wink you'll be fine and good luck with everything!!! Xxx

AnxiousAnnie86 · 03/06/2021 22:03

@pookypup that is soooo exciting!!! Mine is two weeks tomorrow! Don't get time slot till the day before and really hoping it's a morning slot!

Did they say when they think you'll be allowed home? My midwife says I should be home the next day but I can't see it! X

Sitchervice · 03/06/2021 22:16

Anyone else's feet PAINFULLY swollen!! Like so bad I can't even ware flipflops.

In other news I got my car back

pookypup · 03/06/2021 22:45

Thank you @Nesski and @AnxiousAnnie86. It is exciting- though kind of weird knowing that tomorrow is the likely day!

My Trust aim to discharge after 24hrs after ELCS, which was what happened with my DS in 2011, but I asked to stay in for a peaceful second night with DD in 2013 so that feeding was well established. Also, I enjoyed the quiet without energetic DS charging about! - our local hospital is all private rooms though, so not a busy ward.

AlRRRR · 03/06/2021 23:22

@pookypup forgive me but what is it your having done tomorrow, emsc? -what is this? x

Nesski · 03/06/2021 23:30

@Sitchervice just more swollen than before I was pregnant. I saw my friends feet and we refer to them as pig trotters Grin well she does and I don't say anything but she literally can't get any footwear on whatsoever.

@pookypup almost sounds like a holiday!! If you need to stay you should press for it, I will definitely ask to stay until I've established BF as it's my first and my single biggest worry right now!

pookypup · 04/06/2021 05:54

@AIRRRR it’s an elective (planned) Caesarean section. My first baby was breach so I have always been given the option of delivering this way.

PinkPlantCase · 04/06/2021 06:01

@pookypup today’s the day!! Best of luck, so exciting x

Humpty11 · 04/06/2021 06:06

@AIRRRR thankfully I was in theatre because he was forceps anyway and I’d had a spinal so I didn’t notice anything until they told me after! Hopefully you hear back from them today.

@pookypup how exciting! I hope everything goes to plan and you get to meet your baby today 😍. I hope you managed to get some sleep last night. Enjoy a nice relaxed morning before you have to go in.

Edelweiss2020 · 04/06/2021 06:17

People that have been induced before, i have a question. My consultant booked my induction for Tuesday and told me to ring the ward at 8am. Do they then give you a time to come in? Will I get fobbed off and pushed back to another day? I know it may take a few days from admission to meeting baby but I don't want to set my hopes on it getting started on Tuesday if it's likely they'll be like 'nah we're busy' 🤣

AlRRRR · 04/06/2021 06:44

@pookypup Oh!!!! Good luck then!!!

@Humpty11 Phew! A friend had it done manually in same room she birthed in 😳😳😳😳 Anyway! z

pookypup · 04/06/2021 07:07

Thank you, hope to update later today with baby news!

Humpty11 · 04/06/2021 07:21

@AIRRRR oh crikey, I feel for her! Let’s hope no one has to go through that 🥴. I think I’d rather give birth again over that 😳.

@Edelweiss2020 when I was induced with my son I was told to call up about 8 and then they told me when to come in. It depends on their bed availability so hopefully Tuesday will be the day but it depends on what else is going on then too. Fingers crossed it is Tuesday though!

Tatty1987 · 04/06/2021 10:56

How exciting @pookypup hope all goes well Smile

I know I’m quite a bit behind some of you ladies (36+4) but TMI...I’ve been losing my mucus plug a bit last night and more this morning. I was wondering if any of you ladies further a long had experienced this when you were 36 ish weeks?

AlRRRR · 04/06/2021 11:21

@Tatty1987 Ooooo exciting! I haven’t (i’m 37+ 2) but my cousin had a baby recently and hers went at 36 and she had baby at 38 x

Ahh that’s interesting to know thanks. I did have a google this morning and it said it’s basically the beginning of your body preparing but birth can still be weeks away! Hoping he stays in there a bit longer or at least until I’ve finished work next week Smile I’m FTM so I anticipated going over and possibly into July but we shall see.

Normando91 · 04/06/2021 11:49

Good luck today @pookypup !!

I’ve been having the worst stomach cramps and slight back pain the past two days. And then a few times I’ve had a sharp pain in my stomach and another few almost scratching feelings. My bump has dropped a bit and I’ve noticed baby moving a lot lower in my stomach than before. Hoping I still have a couple weeks as I’m not uncomfortable and still managing to do things easily. As eager as I am to meet my little one, I’m still enjoying just relaxing baby free for now 🙈 I’m having like 2 hour long baths daily... it helps with the intensely swollen feet!

AlRRRR · 04/06/2021 12:05

@Tatty1987 Yes I’d say the same, body preparing and can be anytime! Good luck! :)

AlRRRR · 04/06/2021 12:07

@Normando91 Stomach cramps here too and a looooot of movement and cramps down there in the cervix area, worse between 9-1am for me, she goes wild 🤣🤣. No swollen legs but I do have a 4 yr old and live alone 4 -5 days a week with her so maybe my legs don’t get a chance to? haha How many weeks are you? :)

Jinglebells87 · 04/06/2021 12:23

Argh! I came in for reduced movements this morning and although baby is fine, I am being booked in for an induction tomorrow! Feeling freaked out and unprepared!

AnxiousAnnie86 · 04/06/2021 12:30

@Jinglebells87 ooooh thays so exciting!!! How far along are you? X

AlRRRR · 04/06/2021 12:32

@Jinglebells87 Oh wow! how many weeks are you, are they inducing because you felt less movements?

I always wonder about that as mine has no fixed pattern and just randomly goes crazy until few days ago, she starts between 9pm and 1am 🤣🤣
