Congratulations @Allicit 💙

I’m the same with you about being overwhelmed when looking at things to buy! I have a huge list on my phone but when I start looking it gets too much and I don’t get anything!
With clothes I just don’t know how much of each age I’ll need! Do people get newborn/first size and then up to 1 month and up to 3 months!? So much to think about but we will all get there 😍

Scotti84 · 19/04/2021 16:30

@2021mumma im 21 weeks and the past week ive felt more movements, it was hard to define at first, and they're not very often, maybe once a day, either little flutters or like bubbles popping. I think she kicked my bladder the other night, had a very short sensation like i needed to go to the loo, then another one a bit after then nothing more. I cant feel anything from the outside though yet, just internally

SP2Bx · 19/04/2021 17:05

@2021mumma I'm 17+5 and felt what @mumof23188 described as little taps the other night while laid in bed trying to drift off. It was the only time I've ever felt anything and been so certain... but I haven't felt a thing since! I think it's hard to know what are movements and what aren't, I'd been wondering if these little bubbles I could feel was baby, but when i felt the taps I just knew! I think 20+ weeks for movement is really common, I don't expect I'll feel much again for a while now, just think the position I was laid in was really lucky! :)

2021mumma · 19/04/2021 17:42

@SP2Bx @Scotti84 thanks ladies, yes TMI but I’ve been suffering terrible wind and think the bubbles are just that! I thought I would be less anxious or in the know as baby no.3 but not the case! X

primhutch · 19/04/2021 17:46

Love the list @Bubbles1st please can I be added, 1st September little girl.

On movements - I'm 20+5 and started feeling movement last Saturday, very gentle taps at first and now I feel her all the time, can feel her externally too! I was desperate to feel her but it's normal not to feel anything until 20-24 weeks especially if it's your first.

Can't believe we are all almost half way there! Everyone says the next half is the longest haha xx

primhutch · 19/04/2021 17:49

@CherylLW the size thing blows my mind, what is up to 1 month, doesn't 0-3 month cover that? I'd love a list of 'you need x amount of vests and sleep suits in x, x and x size' that would be great if anyone can help 😂

Squibble84 · 19/04/2021 18:02

@Allicit congrats on your scan and another boy! 💙

Everything went well at my 20 week scan today! It was slightly stressful as it took them ages to get some of the measurements but all was looking normal and healthy! We didn’t find out the gender so we’re still team yellow! 💛

Squibble84 · 19/04/2021 18:07

I found the up to 1 month vests lasted literally the first month, if that, so we didn’t need masses of them. The 0-3 can be very large on a newborn and we didn’t start using those until DD was about 4 weeks. Obviously that would be different if you had a bigger/smaller than average baby, DD was bang on 50th percentile!

FTEngineerM · 19/04/2021 18:14

The sizes are different in every shop aswell, like 0-3m can be anything from
11-14lb so quite a difference. Have a look at the labels, I didn’t even realise at first but luckily we’d bought from lots of different shops so had a variety.

We had no tiny baby stuff though and ended up on Facebook market place because everything was sold out absolutely everywhere mid pandemic last year, he was long and thin soooo skinny.

Bubbles1st · 19/04/2021 19:18

The sizing baffles me too. Like how do you know what you need first size wise until they arrive!

I will update the list again with the additions abs changes in a few days.

@2021mumma I am 19 weeks tomorrow and have to say I've felt very little movement. I feel like a bubbling sensation sometimes but insure if it's gas or bub! Bump deffo getting larger and more muscular though which can only be a good thing 😊

Kirky658 · 19/04/2021 19:20

@allicit congrats on your little boyby ❤️

deedeebythesea · 19/04/2021 19:34

Please don't judge but I started buying bits the day after 12w scan: clothes, a couple toys, manicure set, nasal aspirator and spray, muslins and blankets. I really wanted stokke cot, so bought it when I saw a good deal on FB marketplace. Same goes for stokke highchair and baby bjorn bouncer. DH wants to go to mamas and papas showroom to try some prams before we commit to one, but once we choose then will be getting it off marketplace too

AdventuresAwait · 19/04/2021 19:48

Glad it went will @Squibble84! Was it quite detailed?

No judgement here @deedeebythesea... we did the same! We got crib, pram, car seat, high chair etc after the 12 week scan and bought clothes, muslins etc after the gender scan.

bewitchingnight · 19/04/2021 19:55

No judgement @deedeebythesea everyone's different!

Glad your scan went well @Squibble84

@Kirky658 I feel the same as you about movements and bump is definitely firmer and a bit rounder now

I think I'm going to get a small amount in up to one month and then mostly get 0-3 months. If the baby is particularly small we can always nip out to the supermarket / order a couple of smaller sizes online once they're here. You could spend a fortune on clothes they won't ever get to wear couldn't you! And I keep reading threads where the baby turns out to be a completely different size to what they're predicted to be!

CherylLW · 19/04/2021 20:00

@primhutch I’m with you there!! A list of things would be ideal 😂 I think I have about 8-10 up to 1 month sleep suits and body suits. The rest I will get 0-3 months... If the baby is bigger or smaller at birth then I will get some on Amazon. I’ve even started getting 3-6 month bits if I see them too!

@deedeebythesea the baby borjn bouncer 😍 I’ve been eyeing up one online but they are so expensive! I think I’ll get one tho as I’ve had some money given to me to buy something nice ❤️

crobo87 · 19/04/2021 20:05

@deedeebythesea I've got quite a bit now too, mainly because a friend who's recently had a baby was selling some bits. I've got a swing, play mat & next to me crib.
I've bought quite a few clothes after my gender scan too 🙈🙈

Squibble84 · 19/04/2021 20:17

@AdventuresAwait yeah they measure so many things but I think what made it so long was the sonographer was a student, which I didn’t realise at first as he seemed very confident, and he struggled to see the heart properly and kept trying to go at it from different angles, peering intently at the screen for what seemed like ages! So I started to panic thinking there’s something wrong with the baby’s heart but then the senior sonographer stepped in and she managed to get all of the measurements fairly quickly.

AdventuresAwait · 19/04/2021 20:42

That's good @Squibble84. Glad all was good. Do they give you pictures at the 20 week scan too? Xx

Squibble84 · 19/04/2021 21:05

Yes we got about 10 pics! 🥰

FTEngineerM · 19/04/2021 21:11

@Squibble84

Yes we got about 10 pics! 🥰
Cute!! Glad it went well, must be a relief.
AdventuresAwait · 19/04/2021 22:39

@Squibble84, oh so lovely! Xx

sarahlw5 · 20/04/2021 08:10

Been a busy few days and haven't had a chance to catch up with everything on here but just seen the due date list and love that idea...
I am due on the 12th. Private scan told us a girl so hopefully my 20 week scan next Wednesday will confirm the same!

SP2Bx · 20/04/2021 08:18

Lovely scan pic @Squibble84 ! Can't wait to see their little face at mine 🥰

@deedeebythesea I swore I was going to wait until the 20 wk scan to buy big stuff (have only picked up a couple of sleepsuits in an array of sizes so far - newborn/up to 1 month/0-3 months), but we went "for a look" at a baby outlet on Friday and came out with a full pram/travel system and next-to-me crib 🙈 It's exciting to start shopping, and not to mention helpful to spread the cost!

Kirky658 · 20/04/2021 09:08

Morning ladies hope all is well.
Can't wait to start buying things, we've only got bits like nappies, changing mat etc but have resisted clothes shopping up to yet. Scan is next Wednesday. Eek. I've held a place on one of the nct classes that they've kindly held no obligation till the 30th for me, not sure to book or not as they're £200, thoughts?

In other news put one of my work shirts on this morning as I've got a zoom meeting and it is straining over my belly 😂
