Is anyone else suffering from back ache? I had pgp with my dd but a sore back with my ds. The last two weeks my back has been playing up, I have tubigrip that I am wearing but am considering getting a maternity belt, any recommendations would be much appreciated. The pain is getting me down. I was at work this morning, only for 4 hours but really struggled.

On a positive note I will be 21 weeks next Wednesday and have my 20 week scan, mil has kindly said she will take care of our preschoolers so dh can come to the scan. I asked the kids if they would like to know the babies sex and both, to their dad's delight have asked for a surprise because surprises are the best apparently.

I have the consultant appointment the day after and will see my midwife in a fortnight. I feel like things are finally progressing.

So, we have another little boy to add to the mix 💙 there’s going to be a whole tribe of them!

Hello hello thank you for making a new group!

My trust just approved birth partners attending for scans from Monday 19th April. So DH will be able to come to the 20 week scan! Happyyyyy.

Also interested in the maternity belts if anyone has suggestions. I find a good warm (not too hot!) soak in the bath helps @sceptre86

Is anyone else planning to have an additional birth partner to their dp? I'd really like my sister there if possible as she's very experienced. I really hope multiple birth partners will be allowed as before (up to 2).

@Taybz I'd love to be able to have my mum there but obviously my OH comes first... I'd love them to go back to 2 birth partners by September but just can't see it myself 😔

@Bubbles1st thank you for making a list! Got a little emotional thinking about how in roughly 4 months time we are going to start having updates about little ones finally arriving!
@CherylLW yeyyy! Due date twins and both boys! 💙 So pleased to hear your scan went well!
@Squibble84 Had mine on Thursday morning and only just recovered! Lady who was administering the jobs asked me wait 10 minutes before leaving the ward in case I had any side effects. We got chatting and totally forgot her advice. Got to the car and felt like I was going to faint. Had to wait an hour before DH could take me home. Headache and flu-like symptoms followed, plus a very achey arm. I’d recommend getting the jab in the arm on the side that you are NOT sleeping on!! I went for the left one and lost two nights of sleep 😣

I know some of us have just had our 20w scans and some will have theirs over the next couple of weeks. However, it is never to early to start thinking about the next one, am i right? 😂 I found the wait between 12w and 20w absolutely maddening and fully regret not booking a private one somewhere in the middle. DH is asking if we can book one for 30 weeks or so. But I’ve heard it is rather late for scans as you cannot see much as the baby is too big by then. Any advice girl? Or past experiences with 3rd trimester scans?
I am also conscious of the fact that by 24w I should be able to feel proper kicks which is immensely reassuring. Plus midwife appts become more and more regular from 25w onwards. Perhaps it’s a waste of money altogether?

@deedeebythesea, yes I agree...! My 20 week scan isn't until the end of the month (I'll be 21+1) but I'm already wondering about a scan around 28 weeks. Maybe a 4D scan if I can convince my husband! But it's my first so I've no experience, just what I want lol

@deedeebythesea it is a very strange thought that the 20 wk scan is the last time we see them until they are here!
I don't believe that there isn't much to see though because I'm sure when people have 4d scans they always tend to be a bit later on, and also people have growth scans right to the end so you must get to see something?
I'm hoping that after 20 weeks the heartbeat and movements are enough to keep me going 🤞🏼

I was so lucky with my first two DC my hospital offered a 3rd scan in the third trimester which was amazing. I’ve had to go to a different hospital for this pregnancy due and unfortunately they don’t offer the third scan. I plan on doing a 3D scan though which is usually done around 30/32 weeks so that will be nice to see baby before birth.

Has anyone noticed the veins around the boobs (especially left side by the heart) really visible? I just got changed and freaked out at how visible my veins are. I can see every line and connection it’s so weird!

@Squibble84 sorry to hear you’re not feeling good after your jab, hopefully it will ease up very soon!! @FTEngineerM @Rach921 I had mine yesterday and I’ve felt fine luckily, I did sleep a little longer than I normally would but no other side effects, hopefully you’ll be the same 🤞🏼

We had quite regular scans after 22 weeks with my DD (a private then regular hospital scans for medical reasons) and felt like we got to see a fair amount on them up until about the last month or two. I'm sure I saw a poster at window to the womb that showed examples of 4d scans at different weeks and the later ones looked really good, this was a few years ago though so can't remember properly - I'll see if I can find one online

Has anyone noticed any changes in their moles? I was in the bath and just below my bump which I can’t see always there was a mole that either wasn’t there before or is bigger than it normally is!! I read online moles can change in colour during pregnancy like our nips can... I’m now worrying about a mole! I’ll call the doctors Monday but I’m thinking just another thing to worry about 🤦🏻‍♀️

@deedeebythesea when I had my private scan at 16 weeks I asked about 4D scans. They said the best time to have them was around 28 weeks as still space for baby to move around a bit.

The Pregnancy + app shows you 4D scans at different weeks.

I’ve got a free 4D scan from buying our pram with DC1 that is didn’t use so super excited to use that this time, probably about 30weeks to break it up a bit.

@CherylLW yes and nipples and moustache 🥲 I don’t really get why but my skin is really affected by the hormones. I have a full on moustache of dark skin which just gets darker 🥸, definitely call the doctor and maybe take a photo next to a ruler if you’re super worried that’s track any size/shape changes too.

There are so many body changes aren’t there @FTEngineerM!! I didn’t even think about moles! I’ll do that what you said about a ruler and pic and I’ll definitely call the doctor tomorrow. Saves me having to worry if there is no need!
