Just managed to catch up! Thanks for the BF advice. I really want to be able to so any advice is so welcome. I've booked my NCT classes now and noticed the last one is for BF. The only advice I had been given so far is nipple shields to start and cabbage leaves to help soothe!

@deedeebythesea I'm glad you mentioned about scans. I had no clue if the 20 week one was the last time. I feel strange to think that's it now. Do we at least get to hear the HB down the line? Well for those that do it anyway?

@CherylLW glad your scan went well!

@Bubbles1st thanks for doing the list. I will message you mine. Are the ladies waiting for their 20 week scans going to find out??

I went shopping for the first time for the baby yesterday and is it just me or are there millions of lovely girly clothes and just a tiny amount of boys!? I ended up not really buying anything and figure I will wait.

CherylLW · 18/04/2021 10:04

Thank you @RaeRae84 😊

I feel the same as you when it comes to boy clothes! I’ve bought a few. It’s now- mainly from next (online) as they have so much more and also from H&M. I find the boy clothes to be mainly blue in some places which isn’t always ideal!

RaeRae84 · 18/04/2021 10:10

I think I will have to go online in the end if there is more choice. Just thought it was nice to actually go shopping for a change. I find it's much easier to buy for someone else than for myself! I wouldn't of thought about being practical before having no clue, just thought it looked cute 😂

deedeebythesea · 18/04/2021 10:43

@Rach921 @2021mumma congratulations and welcome to Team Blue xx (not that blue=boys but you know what I mean! We have been given a loads of gorgeous pink clothes that I still intend on using, nothing wrong with a pink leggings on a boy. He can always style it out with a green cardi ;)

@Taybz I did not even think about that! Just assumed we'd be allowed one. My mum lives in Sweden and I am a single child. Can I have my one of my spaniels there? Grin

@AdventuresAwait @Jay3004 Window to the Womb are offering 4D but also Growth & Presentation scans after 26 weeks windowtothewomb.co.uk/private-baby-scan-packages/private-growth-scans/ I might book the latter if I get too impatient, but just like you @SP2Bx hope kicks & HB checks at MW appointments will me pacified
@KHR1 It must have been lovely to get regular updates on her growth! Hope this pregnancy goes smoothly for you

SK28 · 18/04/2021 10:46

Hi ladies - wondering if I can join your group, even though we are halfway to September already? I'm 19+4, due 8th. I've already got two little girls, 6 and almost 4, and I've put off joining a group this time because of two early miscarriages and then a 13 week miscarriage last summer. Fingers crossed this time all is going well x

Catkin7 · 18/04/2021 10:47

Hello, can I join? I’m due the 10th September and have my gender/sex scan on the 27th April. Would anyone mind seeing if they can guess from my 13 week scan? So excited to be 20 weeks next week, feels like a massive milestone 😊 👶

deedeebythesea · 18/04/2021 10:51

@CherylLW omg yes! I have quite a few new moles and that's just on parts of the body that I can easily see. Must ask DH to check my back! They are tiny but I am keeping an eye on them. @FTEngineerM! a little tmi but the inside of my belly button and a little bit around it went quite dark. Is that normal? I know a dark line running down (and up in my case) from the belly button is common..

@RaeRae84 it was definitely the last routine NHS scan, at least in my NHS Trust :( I am keeping everything crossed they will listen to HB at the next MW appt!

Kirky658 · 18/04/2021 11:18

Morning ladies, I'm exhausted today. Big walk with DH yesterday, very hilly, it's tired me out. Was going to go for a run but decided to give it a miss today, too much like hard work. My main change is my skin is so so much drier like my eczema has really flared up, it's so irritating.

CherylLW · 18/04/2021 11:18

I feel like I should order something to arrive everyday as these tiny tomatoes suits put a huge smile on my face 😍😍😍

Boy here due 14/09/2021 Smile

Rach921 · 18/04/2021 11:38

@deedeebythesea thank you! they let us see baby in 4D at the scan. They say from 24 weeks is best but I was still amazed at how clear the features were at 17 weeks in 4D

@SK28 and @Catkin7 welcome!

@Catkin7 we are due date buddies and have our 20 week scans on the same day!

Allicit · 18/04/2021 11:49

@Bubbles1st me please :) due 3rd September and first time mum!

AdventuresAwait · 18/04/2021 11:59

Welcome @SK28!

Welcome @Catkin7! My guess is a boy but really only a guess!

Amazing pic @Rach921! We also had a 4D preview at our gender scan. Yours is so clear. Where did you go? Window to the Womb?

They are lovely @CherylLW! I have bought some too 😊

Tired here too @Kirky658, worked on our new allotment yesterday morning, then went swimming and then had a BBQ. Day in the hammock I think today! 🤣
My skin is also dry. Got spots and dry patches on my neck too...? And a rash on my upper arms which I've never had before. Doctor thinks it's eczema.

My next widwife appointment is at 22 weeks. It's a home visit as they do one at the house during the pregnancy. Anyone else had one?

Noodles4Me · 18/04/2021 12:05

I'm consultant led and so very old so I actually will get a scan at 27week and another at 32. Still may go for a private 4D one at 24 weeks.

Whoever said eczema flare ups - I hear you! It's so irritating and dry Sad

Rach921 · 18/04/2021 12:56

@AdventuresAwait yeah it was window to the womb. I was amazed at how clear it was

That’s interesting about the midwife visit at home. Mine is 26 weeks but at the hospital. I don’t think they do home visits under my trust

MrsTD88 · 18/04/2021 13:14

@Noodles4Me I'm consultant led too this time around. I'm booked in for a scan at 28 weeks and then should have them every 4 weeks after. Saw the consultant on Monday for a chat.

I also have terribly dry skin at the moment and obviously can't use any moisturisers with retinol. Does anyone have any recommendations for one that is pregnancy safe? I'm currently using the Simple Hydrating Light Moisturiser but open to trying anything as it doesn't seem to be doing much.

Kirky658 · 18/04/2021 13:44

@Noodles4Me me with the eczema flare ups. @adventuresawait awful isn't it. I'm on a soft moisturiser called diprobase that I was prescribed before pregnancy that helps.
I'm also consultant led, midwife says due to my endo. So I see my midwife again 20th May at 24 weeks then the consultant at 25 weeks. I can't say I mind I'd love the chance for more scans if possible!

FTEngineerM · 18/04/2021 13:57

@RaeRae84 that’s good Bf advice to be fair, nip shields will probably save the day if you get sore 😂. Totally agree about boys clothes; they seem to be all dinosaur. PatPat was quite good for cute little rompers but they took ages to arrive, also John Lewis clothes have been cute and worn well.

@deedeebythesea yeah he can rock those leggings, I had so many people asking me ‘is it a boy’ so I think my clothing choices are pretty neutral I love all kinds of things especially colour! Re belly button, the doctor said it can be any patch of skin to me, with some areas more prone to it than others (pits, groin, face). Give them a call though because there’s lots of things that can cause it so always best to check, I had a mad Panicking Google sesh when this dark line appeared on my top lip. Just one of those things though and we get a baby out of it woohoo 🎉.

Congratulations @Catkin7, @Allicit and @SK28

Lush scan @Rach921

Not had a home one yet @AdventuresAwait but the next one after 20 week scan is some time end of May so let me know how it goes!!

Still chugging along with the stupid sinus infection, I fed really bad today and the weathers great so we should be out and about mooching around. Dry skin has also appeared for me too, on the sides of my belly, which aveeno did people use before I remember seeing it but I can’t find the one now?

AdventuresAwait · 18/04/2021 14:00

@Noodles4Me and @Kirky658, I'm consultant led too but see my consultant again at 36 weeks (unless there's a concern beforehand) & she didn't mention any additional scans... 🤷‍♀️ now I'm wondering why and if I should be seen more.

Catkin7 · 18/04/2021 14:51

@Bubbles1st Aw no way! Crazy we both have the same dates 🥰 will you find out or are you having a surprise? We already have a girl so would be nice for a boy, but I’m happy as long as the baby is healthy. So nervous about the 20 week scan 😬 x

Squibble84 · 18/04/2021 15:42

Welcome and congrats @Catkin7 and @SK28! Let me know if you want to join the Facebook group as well! And anyone else who is new and would like to join.

20 week scan is tomorrow, I literally feel sick with nerves!

Catkin7 · 18/04/2021 16:00

@Squibble84 what’s the Facebook group? I’m already part of one called Due September 2021 if it’s that one.
I hope your scan goes well. I was a bag of nerves at the 12 week scan, more nervous about the 20 week one. Been watching too many baby shows where things go wrong. However I know most of the time things are completely fine and I’m worrying about nothing. xx

SK28 · 18/04/2021 17:06

@squibble84 Would love to join the FB group, thank you!

SP2Bx · 18/04/2021 17:31

Welcome to all those joining recently - too many posts to go back through and find you all to tag!

Where I am, after the 20 wk scan (which is 6th May for me) I'll next see the midwife at 25 weeks then every 2-3 weeks after that pretty much! She said from 25 weeks onwards they'll listen to the heartbeat even though they didn't at the 16 week appointment, so hopefully that's the same for those of you who missed out. I think one of the later ones might be a home visit too actually whoever mentioned that!

Bump feels massive today - but could just be my outfit 😆 but 17/18 weeks is a likely time to "pop" I suppose. Can't wait to look properly pregnant!

Has everyone checked out Matalan for baby clothes? I always think their little boy stuff is super cool 😎
