Morning everyone,

I'm a week from 20 week scan and the start of my big purchases, however my spreadsheet is being updated regularly with what I need!

I'm in Lincolnshire but my brother is near Birmingham so the intention is to go to the Jollytots outlet which has been recommended to me and has some fab deals to be had which isn't too far from them.

Other than that I really don't know where to go, anyone have any Lincolnshire suggestions? There is a huge pushchair place near me but it's appointment only and all new ranges so I don't want to waste their time when I'm not likely to spend a lot on something brand new or top of the range.

Thanks if you have somewhere, Nottingham would be ok for me to go too as I have family there is could say hi to.

thanks @Bubbles1st for making the new thread and list - wow what a lot of blues?!?! went away for the weekend and now catching up on all the msgs! Hi to the new folk on the thread! Hope everyone is doing ok :)
v similar here, smaller and firmer (less fatty!) bump in the morning, still barely a bump really :s and then by evening defo bloated and puffy! cant believe were all approx half way thru!
20 wk scan on friday, eeeek. then think we REALLY need to start sorting some stuff, u guys are putting me to shame having booked on classes and buying stuff, im suddenly getting the fear!
@Kirky658 not sure eithe rre NCT - we would like to try a hypobirthing course too and not sure what the deal is, should we do both, or is 1 enough? few friends recommended NCT just to make friends rather than finding they really learnt loads of stuff, but even that is useful as we dont know loads of people round where we r. haha love that about your work shirt ;) im defo all about baggy stuff right now as as soon as i put something with less give in it, i realise its a tad on the tight side!!
we've booked an appt at a local john lewis to have a chat about buggies etc and see what is what! thats literally the only thing i feel like we are sorting!
exciting that some of u r feeling movement too :) still finding the sensation v strange, but also is cool to be feeling him wiggle!

mumof23188 · 20/04/2021 09:50

We have already got a pram, next to me crib and all the big bits as my youngest is only 20 months. I’m going to start buying some clothes and bits after my scan. Also wanted to get a new sling. Love a sling 🥰.

RadDarwazeh · 20/04/2021 10:22

I love that things are being purchased, how exciting! I have been eyeing up the Strada travel system mamas and papas and the nursery furniture Obaby Stamford set. And making a wishlist on Amazon too! I think I will leave a changing table and get a chest of drawers to put a stable changing mat on top of. Got some tiny baby grows too I couldn't resist! And a piggy bank for Baba to start collecting. Baby bits are just so cute!!

leftitlate37 · 20/04/2021 10:27

Ooowhat slings are you looking at @mumof23188? Did u use one with your first? Any tips?! Hope u r doing ok at the mo x
The options for travel systems are just endless eh, I dont know where to start!!!

FTEngineerM · 20/04/2021 10:52

Have you tried the freerider sling @mumof23188?

We had a super structured chicco one last time and I wasn’t a fan thinking the fabric type will be more comfortable al round.

Noodles4Me · 20/04/2021 11:19

I've not got anything new yet - iCandy pram free from a friend, next to me Chicco £40 eBay. Got an ex-display cot £22 from Dunelm.

Need new mattresses, bedding and car seat and a few vests and babygrows.

Might buy the perfect prep thing so I have it ready if baby won't BF or I go for mixed feeding. Can't find these 2nd hand anywhere!

Anyone's bump got higher? Mine seems higher now considering he was right down in pelvis.

FTEngineerM · 20/04/2021 11:42

Might buy the perfect prep thing

I can see those being such a win, if you can’t find one in time I’ve seen women on here saying they do it perfect prep stylie themselves so one flask of boiled and one flask of cooled boiled and make the bottle using those two @Noodles4Me

AdventuresAwait · 20/04/2021 12:08

@leftitlate37, @mumof23188, I have bought a Konny baby carrier. I wanted a sling that I didn't have to wrap around. It is so comfy. I have only tried it with a doll/Teddy 🤣 but I would recommend it xx

leftitlate37 · 20/04/2021 12:15

Ooo thanks @AdventuresAwait that looks gr8! Gets really good reviews too. Id be terrified of one I had to wrap around myself in case messed it up and the baby slipped out or something horrific! Did u get it direct from the website?

Mamabearwhere · 20/04/2021 12:21

Hi everyone hope you’re all feeling well. Haven’t been on here yesterday and feel like so much to catch up on! Sounds like some have started thinking of what to buy. I was about to order a cotbed on John Lewis for £250 yesterday when I decided to check Facebook marketplace and found the exact one up for sale around the corner for £40!! I rushed to collect before it went! Feel like such a winner haha. I’m slowly starting to redo our spare room into the nursery although still haven’t bought a single piece of baby clothing. My scan isn’t until 6th may which feels like ages away!!

Mamabearwhere · 20/04/2021 12:23

@AdventuresAwait oh my friend has just given me her Konny carrier and raves about it but I haven't tired it on yet. @leftitlate37 I have the same fear of doing it wrong and the baby dropping out or if I bend down to pick something up and baby falls out ! I’m sure it won’t happen if secured properly snd I’m just being paranoid.

AdventuresAwait · 20/04/2021 12:48

@leftitlate37, yes I got it direct from their website. I felt the same about a wrap one. I followed their sizing recommendation and it was a good fit. Easy to put on as you just put it on over your head. It feels secure but then there's an extra piece you tie around and knot at the front which gives me the extra peace of mind that baby will be safe 😊

Twirlywoos1 · 20/04/2021 13:07

Hello!
I hope its ok to join in?
This is my little boy 💙 we're currently 20+1. Second baby, i also have a 3 year old girl. Not going to lie I've brought so much stuff already 🙈 we waited 18 months to fall pregnant so excited is an understatement 🤣

Rach921 · 20/04/2021 14:26

Welcome @Twirlywoos1 and congratulations! 💙

AdventuresAwait · 20/04/2021 14:30

Congratulations @Twirlywoos1! And welcome 💐

Kirky658 · 20/04/2021 14:50

Hello @twirlywoos1 and congrats! Really clear scan pic. I hope mine is good next week as for the 12 week one it was so clear!

Twirlywoos1 · 20/04/2021 14:55

@Rach921 @AdventuresAwait thanks lovelies ❤
@kirky658 the 20 week scans are so much clearer aren't they. Baby actually looks like a tiny human now

crobo87 · 20/04/2021 15:03

lovely scan @Twirlywoos1

I've got my 16 week midwife appointment tomorrow but I'll be 17 1/2 weeks.
I called her today as I haven't felt the baby moving for about 36hours. I've been feeling it for about 2 weeks but daily for about 10 days.
She's reassured me that he's probably just moved position so I can't feel it but has said she will listen to the heartbeat for me tomorrow. We don't routinely get to hear the heartbeat at the 16 week appointment here.
Still worried but hoping I will get the reassurance tomorrow x

RadDarwazeh · 20/04/2021 16:39

@crobo87 I haven't felt baby move at all. 17+3 today. It's my first though so maybe it has moved and I've put the motions down to gas or something as I don't know any better. Hope not goes ok for you tomorrow lovely

Rach921 · 20/04/2021 16:52

@crobo87 I hope it’s goes ok tomorrow. I’m the same as @RadDarwazeh in that I haven’t felt baby yet, I’m 17+5 and ftm. I had occasions where I thought I felt something but not sure if it was just gas 😂 baby is still tiny and has lots of room. My midwife said at this stage it was normal to feel movements and then not for a bit and only to worry from I think 24 weeks (off the top of my head!) x

RadDarwazeh · 20/04/2021 16:55

@Rach921 yeah at my 16 week call midwife said don't worry but from 24 weeks even if you don't feel baby move for one day then to contact the maternity team. Trying not to stress about it. Got my 20 week scan 14th may. When's yours?

Rach921 · 20/04/2021 17:09

@RadDarwazeh mine is 6 May so not too long. I’m looking forward to it as it’s meant to be a lot more in-depth

crobo87 · 20/04/2021 17:21

My 20 week scan is 7th May x

D0nut · 20/04/2021 17:29

Hi everyone
I’m 17 weeks and 3 days. I had some sharp twinges very low down today so I called the midwife and they told me to go to the maternity unit. They did a scan and revealed a girl! Which is wonderful! And it was lovely to see the baby and hear the heartbeat. But they still aren’t sure what my pain is. My urine is clear and my cervix is still closed. The doctor told me to rest and return if it doesn’t go away as it could be early labour which is terrifying as there’s nothing that can be done. Has anyone else had anything like this? I wouldn’t say the pain is terrible but it’s sharp twinges pretty frequently.
