@Allicit excellent you're able to borrow it. I've seen plenty second hand but by the time you buy a new mattress you can buy a cheaper version brand new, which is what got me asking the question of if anyone thinks the dearer ones are worth it if they've got anything to compare it too.

I'm being borrowed a few things - make some
Laugh as they seem to be on the fence about
More kids but maybe not as much as they think! Grin

@sillybry @bubbles1st knackered over here too. Have stopped running now so walking circa 5 miles a day. Took dog this morning, came back and showered and napped for 30 mins before work!

We've gone moses basket partly because a cot wouldn't fit in our bedroom neither would the next 2 me style ones. X

SillyBry · 13/05/2021 16:38

@Bubbles1st I'm also super clumsy, so I feel your pain! I never managed to fall over the crib or trip over... I did wake up several times in the night in a total panic that I'd fallen asleep feeding to find baby back in the crib, fast asleep!!! Such a weird feeling to wake up in such a panic and then be like "oh no, I did put her back!" Your brain does weird stuff to you when sleep deprived!!!

bewitchingnight · 13/05/2021 16:44

@Bubbles1st @SillyBry @Kirky658 yes so tired! I started swimming twice a week but yesterday I had to have a nap in my lunch break and I was still in bed at 9pm! I thought we were supposed to be energised in the second trimester!

SillyBry · 13/05/2021 16:54

@bewitchingnight @Kirky658 @Bubbles1st I went out for dinner last night with a friend I've not seen since last August or September... it was SO nice to catch up - despite being in a pub garden in our coats! But by 9.30, I was yawning and wishing I could get my PJs on and get into bed!
I'm still running, did 5km yesterday morning, but I'm not sure how much longer I'll manage. The idea of going swimming sounds lovely - although I think I'm yearning for the hot tub and relaxing bits we're not allowed, rather than the actual swimming!! ;-)
I took my horse out for my friend to jump this morning and I feel as tired as though I did the hard work! I'm just about to do nursery pick up and I'm wondering how I'm going to get through bedtime without falling asleep! ;-)

Poppysmile · 13/05/2021 18:18

Hi guys might be a stupid question but Iv just ate m&s ham and mushrooms tagliatelle, is that safe to it??

Poppysmile · 13/05/2021 18:18

Worried because of the soft cheese but it was piping hot?

Jay3004 · 13/05/2021 18:27

@Poppysmile I’ve had that a few times and didn’t even think about it!

SillyBry · 13/05/2021 18:27

Don’t worry, you’re fine!
Soft pasteurised cheeses are fine. And cooked is even safer!

Poppysmile · 13/05/2021 18:29

Thankyou for the reassurance I feel I need alot of that lately haha!

FTEngineerM · 13/05/2021 20:30

Hellooo ladies Grin hope you’re all good? I can’t keep up now I’m back in work & still studying 😟.

23 weeks Sunday and I’m absolutely in agony, back and sides of bump is just aching what ever I do. Maybe it is slouching at my desk all day now? Or could it be something else?

Had to have 2 20 week scans because he legit wouldn’t move but all good thankfully the wait was anxiety inducing.

@Bubbles1st I don’t think it matters what brand the drop side cot is they’re probably much of the same but I deffo wouldn’t have a baby without one. Reaching up and over when you’re trying to recover from birth, which ever way they make their entrance, multiple times a night is nothing short of hideous😀. One thing we did that was super cool during the clingy periods, a huge blanket tucked in the cot that extended from the chicco into the bed so it was the same surface that smelt like me, when I slid him across he was none the wiser.

KHR1 · 13/05/2021 20:49

@Bubbles1st I've never had one of the expensive ones but we got a next to me style cot that was by KinderKraft. It was about half the price of the proper next to me ones, if not less but did everything we needed it to. It also made a really handy travel crib as it packs away nicely.

Bubbles1st · 13/05/2021 21:04

@KHR1 that's literally what I am looking at the reviews for. Such a good price compared to some but reviews are great! Thanks

P.s Why are nearly all the co sleeper cribs bloody grey!

@Bubbles1st

P.s Why are nearly all the co sleeper cribs bloody grey!
I feel your pain! We went with it in the end (partly due to buying secondhand - lack of choice), as it wasn't going to stay in our room for very long... it's very frustrating, though!

Grey has also been the favoured colour for neutral baby clothes for ages... 2.5 years on from my first baby, I was hoping that might have changed by now! Also, 'sludgy' colours for boys clothing drives me nuts... what's wrong with using a variety of colours (and not just blue, either)?!

Mind you, I'm still debating over whether to bother getting anything new yet... we have so many neutral clothes for a newborn already. But, but... it would be nice to have a couple of new bits... 😇

deedeebythesea · 13/05/2021 21:31

@FTEngineerM good to see your name pop up again! Glad to hear all went well at the 20w scan/scans. I have some back pain too but not huge amounts, nothing that prevents me from doing things. It’s the feet for me! They are so swollen by the end of the day, it is actually impossible to see the ankles. Really worried it will only get worse as the time goes on.
Other than that, I am definitely riding on some hormonal high at the moment! Lots and lots of energy and able to stay up late once again. Tbh I am so grateful for this 2nd trimester miracle because my work has gone totally mad. Tomorrow will be my 11th day in a row with no breaks or time off, then weekend and probably a full 7 day week back at work 🙄

SP2Bx · 13/05/2021 21:59

@Poppins2016 White and grey being the only neutral option in clothing has been driving me insane too! Next have some lovely mint green stuff in at the moment which is a very welcome alternative, I may have placed a bulk order the other day... :D

GWhiteley · 13/05/2021 22:09

@FTEngineerM I'm glad I'm not the only one that's suffering with their back! The last week it has just really come on & it doesn't matter how I sit/stand/lie down nothing helps. I thought it was my dining room chair at home so requested to work in the office full time - only for my back to still hurt while there 😩 my hubby doesn't really understand I don't think & so don't get huge amounts of support. I just want someone to rub my back!

bewitchingnight · 14/05/2021 09:00

Haha I was saying this to my mum the other day. Everything is grey! It's so boring Grin and I say that as someone who has merrily painted two rooms in the house grey.

We went and test drove a pram yesterday and ordered it this morning! So that's exciting - we went for the Joie versatrax. I confess we weren't very in depth researchers, they all look basically the same to me so I just thought if I like that one I'll go for it and then I don't need to look at any others.

I know nobody wants this to be very vaccine chat heavy but I was unexpectedly offered one tomorrow and got in touch with my midwife and she sent this link, thought it might be useful if anyone is waiting to hear back from theirs www.rcog.org.uk/globalassets/documents/guidelines/2021-02-24-combined-info-sheet-and-decision-aid.pdf

CherLW · 14/05/2021 10:33

Good Morning Everyone,

Hope you’re all doing well...❤️ I’m 24 weeks today and have booked a private scan for tomorrow.
I’ve been feeling a lot more movement and for the past week I’ve been seeing and feeling the movements from the outside... although that’s sporadic!

I’m feeling a bit strange as tomorrow would have been my due date from my MMC last year 😞. I’m not sure how to feel as I’m so excited about the baby growing inside my tummy but also so sad for the baby I never got to meet 😞

About bedside cribs... I was lucky and my mum has bought me one as a gift. I went for the snuz4 I think it is... pricey but I absolutely love it 💙

unicornpower · 14/05/2021 12:10

@bewitchingnight Thank you for that link, i unexpectedly got called for mine too and have booked it for Sunday, have found that link really helpful :)

@CherLW Oh i understand how you feel love, i felt really strange in February when it was our miscarried baby's due date, I was only newly pregnant again too so it was all a bit much-Can you do anything nice tomorrow to distract you? sending love xxx

Kirky658 · 14/05/2021 12:11

Just had a call from the MAU, heart was in my mouth, the swab came back with thrush AGAIN so I've got to drive to the MAU, get the prescription, then go to the hospital pharmacy to collect it.. Ffs!

FTEngineerM · 14/05/2021 12:16

Oh god, the swollen feet 😬 that got really bad for me in the last few weeks, luckily nothing yet. Do lots of relaxing @deedeebythesea

Thanks @GWhiteley glad it’s not just me, it’s much better today so I think I’ll need to find a new work station. Not a fan of going into the office I don’t think, too far from the fridge 😂🤭.

RaeRae84 · 14/05/2021 12:33

@CherLW I hope you're ok tomorrow. Like @unicornpower I felt the same back in February. I just kept thinking on the day that I have been lucky to be given a second shot.
I was 10 weeks when I found out I lost the baby at 6 weeks. They would of been the size of a raspberry so I got a rose called raspberry royale and put it in the garden. My husband is also going to hang a little raspberry on the mobile as him and his mum are going to make one. It's silly things but it just kind of makes me feel better 💗

unicornpower · 14/05/2021 13:31

@RaeRae84 That is a lovely way to remember your baby, I got a cactus as i'm awful at keeping plants alive but wanted something. It makes me sad how common miscarriage is and its still not really understood that well.

@Kirky658 oh no not more thrush! you poor thing-i hope it clears up for good soon xx
