@Kirky658 I definitely felt some little flutters early morning when I woke up and still in bed, didn’t want to move in hope of feeling more but of course nothing else happened. I’m sure it was baby as didn’t feel like gas and more like teeny baby. So exciting. Can’t wait to start feeling proper movements. I say that now but watch when he’s digging into my rib cage at 3am in a few months Grin

AdventuresAwait · 12/04/2021 16:20

@CherylLW I have to book it at my doctors surgery. Midwife said anytime after 16 weeks. I might wait until after 20 weeks, I'm not sure.

AdventuresAwait · 12/04/2021 16:21

Ahh @Mamabearwhere, that's so exciting. Can't wait to feel it. Surely soon...!

SP2Bx · 12/04/2021 17:18

@CherylLW I got told I'd be given it at the hospital at the same time as my 20 week scan. They actually asked last time at my 12 week scan if I wanted the flu jab then but I'd already had it.

Midwife also gave me a slip to give to hospital at my scan to be booked in for my anti-D, any other rH negs out there?

I get some funny bubbles on an evening when I'm sat chilling on the sofa, but it's so hard to know if it's just like, digestion! Guess only a few more weeks and we'll know for definite :)

Sillysocks998 · 12/04/2021 17:58

Hey Ladies
I get a feeling of the baby moving when I wake up in the night and go for a wee. So when I get up from lying down it feels like I have a object in my tummy now going side ways from flat. It hurts a little until it settles after a few seconds. Anyone had this?
I didn't have my gender scan last week as heard heart beat but I have asked for it to be in a couple of weeks. On one hand quite like chugging along not knowing. 🤔. Keeps it all a suprise. I've got first MW appointment this Wednesday!

Poppins2016 · 12/04/2021 19:07

I get something similar, @Sillysocks998. It's also noticeable which side baby has settled on (bump is larger/firmer on one side)!

@CherylLW I was told to get mine after I have my 20 week scan, I just need to go up to daybed afterwards.
@Noodles4Me glad you had a lovely experience. X
@Hopefulmummie congratulations, such lovely news! Were your family as surprised as you?

Bubbles1st · 12/04/2021 20:53

Yay - my trust has just announced that partners are now allowed to all appointments again :) so I don't need to remember everything the consultant says to relay it!

Hopefulmummie · 12/04/2021 21:10

@Sceptre86 yeah they definitely were and I think secretly happy it was a girl lol

Hopefulmummie · 12/04/2021 21:11

@Bubbles1st that's great. Is that all appointments? My husband is only allowed into 12 week and 20 week scan but as long as he's there for them I don't mind about the others

Bubbles1st · 12/04/2021 21:34

@Hopefulmummie yes all antenatal appointments from tomorrow and increased visiting hours on the maternity ward.

Just says that they must wait outside until you are called in for appointments and then you can fetch them or call them in.

I'm pleased as I have extra growth scans and was worried about him a) missing out and b) not being there if any concerns were raised

Just a bit gutting as I had midwife today and he missed the heart beat. However obviously still fab news. Hope all trusts are reviewing it

KHR1 · 12/04/2021 22:08

Glad your scan went well @Noodles4Me

Our hospital Trust have just reviewed their policies too and you are now allowed partners for all scans and there are increased visiting hours for the induction/postnatal wards. Think they are allowed to more appointments too. Hopefully more trusts start to do this too as everyone should be allowed the same chance of support

crobo87 · 12/04/2021 23:15

@Bubbles1st are you Lincolnshire by any chance? I read the same update today

So pleased I don't have to go on my own anymore, especially as I need extra scans & appointments xx

Bubbles1st · 13/04/2021 08:25

@crobo87 yes I am and so is @mumof23188 you too?

I've mentioned this on a previous thread of ours but still as people are still finding out why are people so comfortable to ask if baby was planned.

If they ask that they don't know us well enough to know we didn't think we could have children and it makes me annoyed maybe irrationally. Why don't people just respect your private business yet be happy for you.

Morning rant over....

crobo87 · 13/04/2021 08:27

@Bubbles1st yes I am Smile

People
Can be so inconsiderate can't they. What difference does it matter if a baby is planned or not, they will be loved just the same!! Xx

Hopefulmummie · 13/04/2021 08:45

@Bubbles1st that's good you will have more support at each appointment.

I'm in NI and don't think policies have changed. We're a bit behind the rest of UK on restrictions lifting so hopefully it won't be long

leftitlate37 · 13/04/2021 08:52

congrats @Hopefulmummie thats amazing!! and a girl for the thread wahoo!
proper felt baby kick (or was a it punch yesterday!)- it was sooooo surreal and weird! DH felt it in the evening so defo wasnt me going mad! made me feel a bit queasy at first which prob sounds awful, but just such an alien feeling to be poked from the inside out. v relieved tho as sitll got about 10 days til 20 week scan and was starting to get the worry back as felt ages since we found out it was a boy and seen him on screen (in reality what, ike 2 weeks tho!!)
@SP2Bx yeah ive got to have anti D, think MW said was at 28 week appt or something, was that same for u?
v glad to hear some of you are now getting partners to appt and scans, its so important! we've been fortunate that since december our trust had allowed 1 partner to visits, such a shame there has been such a difference though.
sorry tohear people ask such inconsiderate things @Bubbles1st - its really noones business!! I can already feel the comments about bump (or lack there of) are getting to me - people just seem to feel they can ask really personal things, or comment about how they think u will look. MIL said to me oh i think youll look like this blah blah blah....i hate people talking about how i look, as feel uncomfortable enough with a changing body i really dont want others to be scrutinising it. i know it's probably all meant nicely, but :s
hope everyone else is doing ok anyway! Not be on here for a few days so lovely to see all the messages :)
When are people going on maternity leave? i've got a desk based job....in previous experience how long have u worked with that kind of job? x

crobo87 · 13/04/2021 09:21

@leftitlate37 I'm also debating when to go on Mat leave. With my older 2, I wasn't working so didn't have to think about it.
I work from home full time and probably will continue too for the foreseeable.
I am thinking to use my annual leave from 36 weeks and then take mat leave straight after between 38/39 weeks xx

SP2Bx · 13/04/2021 10:14

@leftitlate37 Yes around 28 weeks but have to go to hospital for it, so I'm sure I read that you get checked over there at the same time instead of having an appointment with your midwife at the GP surgery as well... but who knows!

How exciting that you got a proper kick which DH felt too!!! I can't wait for that day 🥰

Taybz · 13/04/2021 10:19

Congratulations @Hopefulmummie finally more girls! What a lovely reveal pic!

@Bubbles1st people can be so daft, what exactly is the point of that question I wonder?!

I've just found out my trust have also relaxed the rules and Dh can come with me to the 20 wk scan!

I'm getting impatient for my 16wk appointment to come round though. It's next week and so falls on wk19! Is that normal? Also, I've only had one midwife appointment at the very beginning..curious to know how many others have had

Taybz · 13/04/2021 10:20

@leftitlate37 that's so exciting! Sometimes I feel what seems like little wriggles now but then I question if I've just imagined it all! I can't wait to start feeling kicks and for Dh to be able to feel them as well!

leftitlate37 · 13/04/2021 10:26

Ah thats ace u can feel wriggles @Taybz!!! I now think some of what I thought was my tummy making funny sensations may actually be baby after all!! Good luck for your appt next week!
I saw someone at booking in, (total time waste if am honest half the stuff wasn't covered), then saw MW at week 12 and then week 16. Hopefully will now be seeing the same mw from week 16 onwards.
Ah @SP2Bx I have appts at the hospital not gp anyway so actually doesn't make much diff for me! Have u got far to travel to go there instead?
Thanks @crobo87 ...wondered about using annual leave too...guess makes no diff if start ML earlier or take leave ...as at some point will use it...whether start or end. Just don't want to use precious time off when not actually got a baby! How long will u take off altogether?

CherylLW · 13/04/2021 10:28

@Bubbles1st it’s such a weird thing for people to ask isn’t it... how does it change anything for them even knowing the answer to that question! Another question which gets me is ‘Are you happy’ when you tell someone the sex!! Like do they think you’ll say ‘no i feel awful about it’ or something like that! So strange!
I know people don’t mean harm and are often looking for something to say but so strange at the same time.

SP2Bx · 13/04/2021 10:34

@Bubbles1st I can see how that's really annoying! I don't get asked that one much about them being planned but I suppose as we were supposed to get married last year, but it got cancelled twice, maybe people just assume!

My MIL keeps saying to me "ooh you do look a bit green round the gills" even on days where I feel fine! Last time I saw her I thought, sod this I'm putting make up on cause I'm sick of her saying that... she told me I looked lovely, then the OH told her why I'd put make up on and she followed up with "well she does still look a bit green round the gills" 🤬 I was like RAAAAH 🙈

Tell us we look like glowing goddesses or don't comment at all, thanks!!! 😂

SP2Bx · 13/04/2021 10:38

@leftitlate37 Yeah it's a good 25 mins to the hospital which seems excessive just for an injection, so hopefully they do tie in that 28wk appointment there as well.

@Taybz I've seen my actual named midwife twice now, once at booking and once at my 16 weeks, only for a quick 10 mins each time. She did say that from 25 weeks I'll see a lot more of her, think appointments for FTMs are every 3 weeks from then!
