@leftitlate37 I know how you feel. When I met dh I had small boobs, with each pregnancy though they have gotten bigger! Dh thinks the stars have aligned🤣
@aurora2021 glad you are feeling better now, its so exciting to think you might know the baby's sex soon too. It is always so great seeing them on a scan, just feels that bit more real.
@Taybz sounds like you have a cheeky monkey in there. Great story to tell him when he is older though.
Thanks everyone, totally can't believe we have the same due date.
@FTEngineerM she was. They were planning on revealing to us at 24 weeks but as soon as I told them she couldn't keep the secret in. The look on my dad's face when she showed him her bump. I had to tell him to sit down.

bewitchingnight · 05/04/2021 11:18

@Sceptre86 that's amazing you have the same due date! That must have been an incredibly happy phone call!

KHR1 · 05/04/2021 11:49

@sceptre86 that's such great news for you both and exciting that you both have the same due date!

I feel like my bump popped early but has just kind of stayed the same. I have a high bmi so it's probably not an obvious bump to other people rather than belly. I've been rubbish at remembering to take photos though, might have to set an alarm to remind me.

Squibble84 · 05/04/2021 12:36

Is anyone else with toddlers (or pets for that matter!) having to constantly defend their bump?! My 18 month old views me as a human climbing frame and the amount of times my bump gets a dig from her foot, knee, elbow etc! 😅 I’m assuming that the baby is well protected in there but I do feel like I have to be on my guard whenever I’m playing with DD!

KHR1 · 05/04/2021 13:06

@Squibble84 yes!! My 19month old DD is quite heavy handed and likes to splat things, my belly is an easy target. Then all the climbing up and jumping with feet and knees digging in too. It doesn't worry me too much yet but feel like it will when baby sticks out more.

Poppins2016 · 05/04/2021 15:24

@Squibble84 yes!

My cats have been lovely, they just like to snuggle the bump...

My 2.5 year old son, on the other hand... unexpectedly dexided to throw himself right down on my bump this morning... it was really painful, especially as I didn't see it coming and hadn't braced myself!

I'll be 17 weeks on Wednesday and feel like my bump has suddenly appeared from nowhere. The midwife said as I am naturally slim and have strong ab muscles that's likely why I'm showing. But I'm happy to have something to show for the pregnancy at last 😁

We went to aldi baby event this morning, wasn't much but got some Muslin cloths, nappies x2, baby wipes, changing mat for less than a tenner!

deedeebythesea · 05/04/2021 18:17

@Squibble84 Ha! Both of my spaniels have become extremely clingy. Always trying to put their heads on the bump when I sit with them on sofa. They can't help themselves and jump up when I come home from work/shops. I have now learnt to dodge their "hugs" to protect the bump 🤣

Bubbles1st · 05/04/2021 19:06

I had a last minute scan today as I finally won my partner round after a bad weekend and ending up with an emergency dr appointment for feeling so rough and feeling worried

Anyway, no drum roll required as we can all guess that we are having.....

A boy!

I feel like this was a given on this thread but nice to have it confirmed 🥰🤣

Taybz · 05/04/2021 19:27

@Bubbles1st no way! This is getting crazy now! What's in the water? 😄 Congratulations hun! I hope you're feeling better now 💙

FTEngineerM · 05/04/2021 19:27

Woohoo congrats @Bubbles1st hope you’re feeling better now after seeing the doc?

deedeebythesea · 05/04/2021 19:28

@Bubbles1st 💙 another boy! Huge congratulations!

Bubbles1st · 05/04/2021 19:31

thanks ladies, I do feel better and wonder (embarrassingly) if I just ate too much white bread. I haven't had any for weeks and weeks and seeing as dr said everything was ok and that I can expect some pains and discomfort growing a baby (no shit) that maybe it was more my stomach.

Anyway, main thing is he is fine and healthy and I'm so excited to actually know. It's amazing.

Got the 4d sneak peek and whilst the imagine wasn't amazing it was wonderful to see his posture. He was happy to show his bum and between his legs but not his face 🙈

Mamabearwhere · 05/04/2021 19:36

@Bubbles1st congratulations!!! I cannot believe how many boys are in this thread! Hope you’re feeling better and reassured after your scan Smile

leftitlate37 · 05/04/2021 19:42

oh yeah @RaeRae84 thats all i look like now, just way too many cakes, hips and waist disappeared entirely into a sea of splodge!
gr8 idea booking a slot to discuss prams, i might do the same!
@aurora2021 good idea with the classes - i hear the same, but its still not motivated me to book any, we prob should crack on after 20w scan - still doesnt feel real!
@Sceptre86 hahaha DH feels exactly the same - hes like wow cleavage hahaha
@Squibble84 yes! no kids, but dog defo boots the belly...shes such a thug when wants a tennis ball and hurled herself at me the other day :s was a bit worried but figured as u say well protected in there. probs need to be mindful in time tho as rhesus negative, but not sure when they say be careful with bashes to the belly, what counts....shes only a little dog but can be pretty full on!
exciting @Kirky658 with getting some stuff sorted!!! might have to check out our local aldi, meant to look at when they got baby events on!!!
@deedeebythesea cute your spaniels wanna lie on your bump - mine are oblivious!!!
CONGRATS @Bubbles1st glad u persuaded DH, and cant believe youre also having a boy :):) amazing!!!

bewitchingnight · 05/04/2021 19:47

Aw @Bubbles1st amazing, congrats 💙 hope you're feeling better as well

FTEngineerM · 05/04/2021 19:49

@Squibble84 yes! Our 9m old has learnt to slap and I wake up with him climbing on me going ‘dadada’ in my face and slapping my stomach😂. Can’t do anything because he doesn’t understand.

Kirky658 · 05/04/2021 19:50

@leftitlate37 I couldn't believe how cheap their nappies were tbh so will be interesting to see if they're any good! Felt dead weird tbh, it's the first actual stuff we've bought for the bub so it just felt strange!

AdventuresAwait · 05/04/2021 19:53

Wow, congratulations @Bubbles1st!

Sillysocks998 · 05/04/2021 19:59

@Bubbles1st
Congratulations lovely 🎉. Glad everything is OK. I did the same once splurged on warburtons toastie white bread and the constipation has been so bad. Don't do it! Lol x

Sillysocks998 · 05/04/2021 20:02

@Poppins2016 I've a little cat too. She's oblivious I think. She's quite affectionate but I do t think she knows. But, I've walked in the street a couple of times and I've had strangers dogs staring at me again and again. One came up to me when I was about 7 weeks. Just stood next to me. She was female and her mum said she never does that. I think dogs know, cats on the other hand just love cuddles, as long as they get theirs, all is good 😊. My cat doesn't like noise or change though so I hope she doesn't stay away.

I've looked at baby bottles today. Saw some glass ones from Dr Brown. Anyone got these already? X

Taybz · 05/04/2021 20:14

Is anyone else waiting until 20wks to start getting things? I feel that everyone's already getting their bits and bobs and I'm left behind! To be honest, (please don't judge) I really had my heart set on having a baby girl so got some really cute outfits very early on which I may now have to sell..I know silly me but boy clothes are just not as exciting to me.

FTEngineerM · 05/04/2021 20:28

@Sillysocks998 someone on one of these threads, can’t remember who sorry!!, said the glass ones are better so I did a lil research and I think they’re better for hygiene, the environment and no micro plastic seeping into the milk. So all round a good idea.

@Taybz I know what you mean, everything has a bloody dinosaur on it.

Bubbles1st · 05/04/2021 20:34

@Taybz we are waiting until 20 weeks.
I did buy some cheap sleep suits because they were in the sale and super cute.
Even though we know now boy we won't be buying anything (she says) until 20 week scan all ok.

SP2Bx · 05/04/2021 20:39

Aaaalll the boys 💙 Congrats @Bubbles1st and @Taybz!

We're waiting until 20wks really, although the other half did say to me the other day "if you're gonna buy stuff, just don't tell me" so I feel like that's a free pass to start! I just don't have the urge yet, splurged on maternity clothes this month instead as nothing fits!!!
