Due November 2021 - thread 2!

Following on from the first thread which is nearly full, here we are with another thread to keep us going through the first trimester and beyond.

Welcome Smile. I'm Alack, currently 8+something with twins, due 2 November but likely to make an early appearance. Also have DD (3).

Currently on the group we mostly seem to be food-averse insomniacs who just want a nap, so here's hoping for some pregnancy glow! Grin And less anxiety as the weeks go on.

@ELMcg yeah I’ve been sick pretty much from conception. I’m 7+2 now and so miserable. Also have a horrible cold on top of it.

Hannah94L · 30/03/2021 08:46

@ELMcg I’m the same. I’m 6 weeks today and the nausea started at 4+6 for me. Couldn’t even keep fluids down on Sunday but I felt slightly better yesterday and this morning.

happyavocado28 · 30/03/2021 08:50

@ELMcg hey, yes I'm 5+5 and I've been feeling nauseous non-stop for about 10 days. Only thrown up once but the feeling of gagging and smelling absolutely everything has been chronic. I hope it doesn't last or get worse. I am also miserable 😖

ELMcg · 30/03/2021 11:24

@happyavocado28 @hannah94l thanks so much for your responses, so sorry you are feeling like that too but nice to know I'm not alone!

In some ways I'm seeing it as a good thing that it's earlier this time since last time didn't end well for me, but I thinking another 2 months of this will wipe me out 😭. Thank god for working from home as I have been hugging the toilet a fair bit!

Thanks for your message, sorry you feel like this but does make me feel better that it's normal! Rubbish you have a cold too! All comes at once it feels like!

happyavocado28 · 30/03/2021 11:31

@ELMcg @Hannah94L yeah I am really happy to be working from home too tbh. Has anyone else's sense of smell just gone from 0 to canine sniffer dog?!

AlackAlasAlackaday · 30/03/2021 12:15

@happyavocado28 yes! Not a brilliant combo with the nausea. Even just the smell of DH using the toaster sets me off. Bleurgh.

Nausea still pretty bad here but I make myself eat something, even fruit, pretty frequently and it stays on an even (if unpleasant) keel.

I’ve lost count but think I’m 9+something today.

@happyavocado28 yes! 100% I actually discovered I was pregnant as I was walking my dog the other week and nearly spewed at the side of the road picking up his business 🤣 I came home and said to my husband if I do a test it'll be positive and it was. My sense of smell has been ridiculous since then! Luckily my sickness seems to subside by about 2pm at the moment which I'm thankful for!

happyavocado28 · 30/03/2021 12:23

@AlackAlasAlackaday glad it's not just me ! I open the fridge and gag at the smell! I am also eating crackers and drinking lots of water which seems to help with the nausea

@ELMcg a similar thing happened to me with my dogs but it was before I found out I was pregnant so I didn't think anything of it. Now it all makes sense 😂 even when I bend down to put food down for them it sets me off

Hannah94L · 30/03/2021 13:55

Yes 100%, ended up chucking husbands car air freshener out yesterday as I couldn't stand the smell.

Needingsupportplease · 30/03/2021 18:22

Booked an early scan for 19th April when I'll be 8 weeks so fingers crossed..

TS87 · 30/03/2021 18:54

Hi Ladies! Been reading loads of these so thought I would write something. Im 5+2 with first and finding it quite difficult not being able to talk to anyone. Is anyone else crying at every little thing? I didn't think I had anything other than backache but apparently now cooking shows are bringing on the waterworks 🤣

Watermelons7 · 30/03/2021 18:59

Hi everyone
I'm 7wks+5 with first pregnancy and terrified! 🙃
MS has really kicked in this week and so debilitating. Horrendous nausea all day and most of the night. Anyone else experiencing this? Grateful for any advice on what's working for them (particularly in middle of the night) as I've tried everything I can think of!
So hard not to feel resentful at my OH for just going about life as normal 😂

**watermelons7, 37, due 14/11/21 (I think!)

Aisforharlot · 30/03/2021 20:53

My 12 week scan should be first week of may... I figure I'll get through the Easter holidays and hopefully it'll feel like less of a stretch after that!
What do you wear before there's a proper bump but normal clothes feel tight?

Made myself workout today and it absolutely floored me.

Aisforharlot · 30/03/2021 20:58

Sickness - luckily not terrible, just a background blah-ness for much of the day. sleeping helps, my diet is awful atm (when did I last eat a vegetable?). Cravings are cheese and takeaways of almost any kind.
However dp's vape is death to me , I can't even stand the smell of it clinging to his clothes.

happygolucky20 · 30/03/2021 21:01

@Needingsupportplease snap! Mine is at 9:30 on the 19th 😀

AlackAlasAlackaday · 30/03/2021 21:03

I really rate something called the BellyBelt, which is a bit of fabric with buttons/hooks on to extend your jeans, trousers, skirts etc.

Welcome @Watermelons7. Tbh it seems to be hit and miss what helps - chewing mint gum, sea sickness bands, vit b6, lots of small meals, salted crisps.., Sorry you’re suffering too. Basically I find if I can avoid being hungry that helps. I eat a lot of apples and peanut butter sarnies.

Aisforharlot · 30/03/2021 21:07

Thanks @AlackAlasAlackaday.
And I want a peanut butter sandwich now.

Babycrawf · 30/03/2021 21:12

Hi everyone. Found out on Saturday we are expecting our fourth. I’m 45 and thought I was going through the menopause! Youngest is 16. Eldest is 23. Absolutely over the moon.

Needingsupportplease · 30/03/2021 21:30

Nice that we're on the same day and can countdown together! @happygolucky20
Welcome @babycrawf congratulations! @ts87 I'm 5+2 too :) been ridiculously bloated today, exhausted but had quite strong cramps too but they've eased...

I'm also 5w+2d. Midwife "phonecall" in April then scan mid May. To take my blood pressure while I'm at work and phone docs with results! All so very different from 16 years ago
Randomness12 · 31/03/2021 03:47

The nausea has really ramped up for me the last day or so. I spent most of yesterday lying still on the sofa, really worried about work today in the office as I need to be on my a-game so hoping it’s less severe.

I’m having to force myself to eat too, which helps for an hour or so once it’s settled but is hard work. My sense of smell has gone wild too.

wallyrag · 31/03/2021 06:28

I've been reading for a while and too scared to post. Still am really.
5 weeks 6 days today and taking it day by day. Midwife is end of April. Want to book a scan but also scared to book a scan!
But got my first 3+ this morning, so really hoping it's a good sign 🤞

Due November 2021 - thread 2!
AlackAlasAlackaday · 31/03/2021 07:16

Wow @Babycrawf, how exciting! That's lovely.

Welcome @wallyrag. It's so stressful isn't it? I suspect a lot of pregnancy tests are being done by women who are already pregnant, for reassurance. It's a looong 12 weeks.

@Aisforharlot soz, I'm having them all Grin
