Due November 2021 - thread 2!

AlackAlasAlackaday · 25/03/2021 08:15

Following on from the first thread which is nearly full, here we are with another thread to keep us going through the first trimester and beyond.

Welcome Smile. I'm Alack, currently 8+something with twins, due 2 November but likely to make an early appearance. Also have DD (3).

Currently on the group we mostly seem to be food-averse insomniacs who just want a nap, so here's hoping for some pregnancy glow! Grin And less anxiety as the weeks go on.

RowanMumsnet · 08/06/2021 13:32

Hello - MNHQ here: really sorry to burst into your thread.

We just wanted to let you know that tomorrow (Wednesday) evening we're running a free one-hour Zoom event about giving birth - and everyone who attends will be in with a chance of winning one of 25 copies of the guest's book about giving birth without fear.

You can see more details and sign up here

Thanks - and hope you're all feeling as well as possible and coping as the hot weather approaches Flowers

@mrssunshinexxx @randomness12 @twoofusburningmatches @vintique and @knock123

Thank you all for your messages - and positive info. All went really well today. The specialist said, as soon as he felt it, that it felt like normal tissue and they did an ultrasound anyway - that all looked fine too.
He said it would likely feel a bigger if/when I breast fed, and any concerns come back for mammogram once I've stop breast feeding (of course sooner if anything more happens). He does recommend a mammogram for women over 40, every year. This was a private clinic - as I realised my work insurance would cover this, which I'm lucky to have that and brought appointment sooner (although NHS not bad at all as would have been within two weeks).

He gave me leaflets with instructions to self check regularly (I probably only check every so often).
Lessons learnt from this always get lumps check out asap, and very normal for GPs to give two week urgent referrals with things like this, so not as scary as it sounds.
Also did a little Google research, and there are drugs that can be used safely in pregnancy if it had been breast cancer, and although studies are limited a bit, babies are OK.

So big relief to get that checked and all OK. Would so like a glass of wine if I could tonight!

Vintique · 09/06/2021 05:26

That’s brilliant news @Katy4321. You must be so relieved. Hope you found a way to celebrate! Good reminder to keep self checking, thank you - I certainly haven’t been doing it regularly. (Tbh feels like a bit of a task now boobs are getting so ginormous!!). Wishing you a much less scary rest of pregnancy... x

Knock123 · 09/06/2021 07:24

Phew!!! Great news, so glad to hear everything is OK! I have to say after your post to say you found a lump I did check my ginormous boobs and all clear here, but yes very good reminder to keep checking

mrssunshinexxx · 09/06/2021 07:52

So relieved for you @Katy4321 ! I have never checked my breasts have been talking about doing it to my husband and encouraging him as a friend of ours very young got testicular cancer last year only 28. I'm going to find a YouTube video so I know what to do and start doing it weekly !

Aisforharlot · 09/06/2021 09:22

@Roopers I have a wedding in August too, and I got a Seraphine dress from Ebay.

@Knock123 Oh how interesting! I'm a total lingerie addict (when it fits me). This bra is underwired (Berlei), but I'm in the market for a non underwired one if you happen to know any decent brands. At the moment my need for new clothes is far outstripping my budget.

Girlmama3 · 09/06/2021 10:49

Hi everyone 😀 I’ve been really rubbish on this thread.

Is everyone having the whooping cough vaccine?

mrssunshinexxx · 09/06/2021 11:04

@Girlmama3 no definitely not c

Girlmama3 · 09/06/2021 11:05

@mrssunshinexxx I’m in two mind’s. I feel like this baby is having enough with the covid vaccine.

Garman · 09/06/2021 11:08

Yes I'll be having whooping cough vaccine, having dealt with bronchiolitis when my son was 7 months I wouldn't want risk something as serious as whooping cough with a newborn.

mrssunshinexxx · 09/06/2021 12:01

Hi @Girlmama3 so sorry I misread the sun was glaring in my screen I had whooping will not be having covid x

Vintique · 09/06/2021 12:25

Yes definitely having whooping cough vaccine

Randomness12 · 09/06/2021 12:37

@Katy4321 so pleased to read your update!!

@Girlmama3 yes I’ll be having whooping cough and flu jabs this pregnancy, as I did with my daughter. Still on “not yet” with Covid tho but that may change of things kick off with the Indian variant in my area. I work in a hospital so have quite a lot of exposure although not medical/clinical and this is making me nervous now.

Knock123 · 09/06/2021 12:52

@Aisforharlot honestly I'd get something cheap because you're going to keep growing yet. Not the most glamorous but M&S have an OK range. I'm struggling because I'm a 32FF and trying to get bras in that size is either super expensive or they're really ugly! I consulted with a large breasted friend and she suggested sports bras.

@Girlmama3 yes will be having the whooping cough vaccine, was advised to wait until after 20 week scan so have it in a couple of weeks

mrssunshinexxx · 09/06/2021 13:31

@Randomness12 that must be really tough not wanting it but working in that environment stuck between rock and a hard place my midwife said I'll be missing flu season ? I'm having section on October tho maybe that's why

AlackAlasAlackaday · 09/06/2021 15:58

Hi all, just noticed that this thread is nearly full so will get another one ready for us, one sec…

Hope the warm weather isn’t sending too many people round the twist. We’re at the coast and I’m living on ice water.

Girlmama3 · 16/06/2021 10:47

I had mine at 14 weeks and am trying to get my second one earlier! I had a bad stomach the evening after mine and a sore arm x

CakeIsTheAnswer123 · 18/06/2021 07:45

Hello, would love to join as I'm now 18+4 with my rainbow result of 6th ivf. Still can't quite believe it but we've bought the carseat so it must be real! Lovely to meet you all! Xxx

Reena666 · 21/06/2021 20:16

I’m 20+2 first pregnancy, 38 years old and scared about every little thing!! I’ve felt the flutters so I’ve stopped having my numerous scans.

Reena666 · 21/06/2021 20:19

I’ve had one most recently. Had a sore arm. Midwife and doctor advised I should have one despite being so anxious, I did it!
