Due November 2021 - thread 2!

Following on from the first thread which is nearly full, here we are with another thread to keep us going through the first trimester and beyond.

Welcome Smile. I'm Alack, currently 8+something with twins, due 2 November but likely to make an early appearance. Also have DD (3).

Currently on the group we mostly seem to be food-averse insomniacs who just want a nap, so here's hoping for some pregnancy glow! Grin And less anxiety as the weeks go on.

Will be thinking of you this weekend @jorisbonsonstoupe and keeping everything crossed for positive news on Monday.

Iloveyou3x · 22/05/2021 19:22

Good luck for positive news @jorisbonsonstoupe

Confirmed today I am having a GIRL! Very weird after having boys!

mrssunshinexxx · 22/05/2021 19:53

Yay I guessed right @Iloveyou3x
Good luck @jorisbonsonstoupe x

pineapple2021 · 23/05/2021 20:04

Have people had/are you getting the covid vaccine?

AlackAlasAlackaday · 23/05/2021 20:28

@pineapple2021 I had it over the weekend (Pfizer). No side effects other than a sore arm. Not front line or anything but worried about the third trimester so was happy to be called for it. What are you thinking about it? I know there are women who feel strongly from both sides.

@vintique the midwives have been really reassuring about my age. Will let you how the appointment goes and what happens. Good they are being careful with you because of your preterm birth - hopefully no issues this time.

@pineapple2021 I had the pfizer vaccine last Tuesday, and felt fine after, just a slightly sore arm. Happy to be vaccinated as a bit older and hopefully things will be OK in the Autumn, but will be glad to have the protection for me and the baby.

@jorisbonsonstoupe will be thinking of you tomorrow.

ahuss · 23/05/2021 23:07

Hey does anyone know if I can take Piriteze during pregnancy for allergies ?

krj2688 · 24/05/2021 05:29

Hi @ahuss

You can take certrizine. I had an allergic reaction a few weeks back and was given that to take x

ahuss · 24/05/2021 07:31

@krj2688 great thank you

mrssunshinexxx · 24/05/2021 12:59

jorisbonsonstoupe · 24/05/2021 13:58

@mrssunshinexxx thank you- still not heard anything 😪

mrssunshinexxx · 24/05/2021 15:31

Oh no will it definitely be today ? @jorisbonsonstoupe xx

vixey · 24/05/2021 16:44

has anyone else been told its unlucky to have Amy baby items or the pram in the house before the birth. I've been told I shouldn't have anything baby related until the birth and I've been told loads of times we cant have the pram in the house. but the thing is my friends are selling all their newborn stuff to us, and their moving so can't keep it until babys here and we've bought a pram from some other friends but have no where but here to store it until November. xxx

AlackAlasAlackaday · 24/05/2021 17:37

@vixey these days I think it’d be unusual not to buy some stuff in before tbh, and have it at home. Most people are doing nurseries etc too.

mrssunshinexxx · 24/05/2021 17:44

@vixey honestly IMO it's all superstitious crap I got totally sorted from about 20 weeks

vixey · 24/05/2021 19:09

the thing is, everyone I've known in the past few years (those who haven't had medical issues) have been allowed home within 24 hours (at most) you cant be expected to buy everything you need in that time. its not like back when you'd be in hospital for maybe a week following the birth. xxx

Randomness12 · 25/05/2021 10:51

@vixey my family were obsessed with not having the pram in the house. It arrived when I was about 38 weeks and I kept it boxed in the garage until my due date, then in the car after that. I have had a previous loss so although I planned everything I wanted, we didn’t start buying bits and doing the nursery etc until after 30 weeks. I think it’s very much each to their own these days. Do what you are comfortable with 😊

Randomness12 · 25/05/2021 10:51

@jorisbonsonstoupe I hope you got your results yesterday in the end and I am keeping everything crossed for you that it was positive. Thinking of you lots.

Roopers · 25/05/2021 21:41

@vixey we have some stuff (clothes, maternity wear, baby toys, baby bath, sleepyhead etc) from friends but are storing it out the way in our spare room. I've heard about the superstitions but I'm not a big believer in them anyway.

We won't be getting more stuff til nearer the time but that's only as we are renovating the house and don't want too much clutter until much nearer the time and the nursery is decorated.... oh and when we know the sex of the baby!

I do want to be sorted by 30-32 weeks though. My John Lewis wish list is full to bursting in anticipation!!

Lizlou85 · 25/05/2021 21:58

Need advice. First time mum, due November 24th. We’re looking in to car seats but hubby wants a travel system with carry seat and I’m thinking a 0-4 car seat from the go. Do people use the carry seat much? If you don’t have a carry sear but a fixed car seat how do the hospital let you leave? I’m a great Walker vs. Driver and live in a small town, dr about a 5min walk, large supermarket 15min walk. We both agree want something with a 360 spin.

jorisbonsonstoupe · 25/05/2021 22:15

Hi everyone and thank you for your support. After an awful few weeks being told I had a 1:2 chance of the baby having Down's syndrome and also a very high risk for Edwards, my results from the amnio have come back clear.

I'm completely overwhelmed as I had prepared myself for the worst. And I'm having a girl 🥰

Hannah94L · 25/05/2021 22:32

Fantastic news @jorisbonsonstoupe

Kitttycatt · 25/05/2021 23:01

Great news @jorisbonsonstoupe you must be so relieved! X

Katy4321 · 25/05/2021 23:51

@jorisbonsonstoupe that is absolutely wonderful news, so pleased for you. You wrote such a lovely post about if the baby had downs, but still so so hard to go through all of this waiting and the failed CVS.
