Following on from the first thread which is nearly full, here we are with another thread to keep us going through the first trimester and beyond.

Welcome . I'm Alack, currently 8+something with twins, due 2 November but likely to make an early appearance. Also have DD (3).

Currently on the group we mostly seem to be food-averse insomniacs who just want a nap, so here's hoping for some pregnancy glow! And less anxiety as the weeks go on.

@Lizlou85 I am a massive fan of multi-stage car seats, otherwise you end up spending ££££ and they take up loads of space if you want to keep them for future use. You can buy it and install it in the car; a lot of hospitals (contra the rumour) don’t really mind how you leave, so you can either park outside and carry the baby to the car or have them in a pram or even sling. Worst case a MW may want to follow you to the car to see the car seat.

Thank you I am relived and just need to try and enjoy the pregnancy now. My other 4 pregnancies were plain sailing but then I was a lot younger then 😊 my oldest is 19 and my youngest is 12...

Afternoon everyone, hope you're all doing ok! Just wanted to have a happy moment to the world - had my 16wk midwife appointment today and feel so lucky to have Fi - she's fab! She listened to my waffle about how I feel after finding out one of our twins is no longer here and then after hearing my anxiety issues about not knowing what's going on inside as it were offered to check for the heartbeat (strong caveat to not worry as it's very early to always be able to find the little gremlin with the doppler and it doesn't necessarily mean anything is wrong), anyway, the student who was with her asked if she could try and find it - yep ok we all have to learn - well that girls got skills as she found it within about 10 seconds! Got to have a nice long listen to bubba beating away at a rate of knots. Feeling very happy at the mo 😌🥰

Ah @Crazybabylady14 that's lovely and reassuring. I think we will all be reassured when we feel babies moving so much soon 🙃

I have a tight, hard little bump now which is very low down. I'm having days where I am completely and utterly exhausted still and getting breathless running upstairs then other days I feel good.

@jorisbonsonstoupe I can't wait for the first movements and especially for when the other half can start to feel them.

I thought I had the start of a good bump but when she found the heartbeat it was very low down - so my belly is mostly made of food baby at the moment 😂

just popping by to let everyone know we had out gender scan on Tuesday, we are having a little boy!!!!
due on the 6th Nov. feel much more relaxed now for knowing everything is OK, especially after a rocky few weeks.

Hi everyone,

I got my harmony results and thankfully it was all normal. Plus they told me I've having two girls. So 3 girls for me in total. My oldest will be 3 by the time the girls arrive.

I'm bloody exhausted, at 17 weeks it's so hard to move around. I just want my previous energy back .

When's everyone else's 20 week scans coming up? Mines 16tyh June and I can't bloody wait !

@mrssunshinexxx mine is 18th June. We must be due days apart. I'm due 5th November but that assumes 40weeks

I'm also dye bonfire night! But having a planned section for so it will be October baby @lboogy

My 20 weeks scan is on the 30th June. Which is the same day as my daughters was 5 years ago! I’ve also got my first consultant appt the same day. Bit nervous about that as there are no details about what is involved or will be discussed etc. I’m assuming it’ll just be my planned section due to complications and making plan for the extra monitoring I’ve agreed to.

I’m thinking of booking a NIPT/Harmony test for before then tho. As my screening results have put me a bit on edge. They are deemed low risk but my risk of Edwards/Pataus is less that 1 in 50,000 but my risk of Downs is 1in 923 which although still low, feels so much higher than the others so it’s keeping me awake. It was much lower with my daughter too so worried there is something else going on.

Mine is in just over a week - but clashes with our holiday. No joy getting through to rebook so far, and I really hate the thought of postponing it. And I want to know the sexes already! Argh.

iboogy I'm 18 weeks now with these twins and the tiredness is insane - I did two hours of very light gardening yesterday and was ready for bed by 4pm.

@mrssunshinexxx my 20w is not for 4 weeks, so feels a long time away.

@vintique I said I let you know how my first consultant appointment went. Well it was a bit of a non event. It was changed to a telephone call the day before the appointment and he basically just asked me how I felt, did I have any particular concerns and did I think I could feel any movement, but him saying still very early. I did dicuss a few things with him, but was really just checking in on me. So no opportunity to hear heartbeat or anything. I guess this is good as means nothing in particular they are worried about, and I see the community midwife next week, so guess then will have things like urine and blood pressure checked. The consultant did say I'd have extra scans from 32w and another appointment with him at 36w
It does feel a bit of a long wait between the 12w and 20w with no positive confirmation things are on track.

Hi @Katy4321 oh that does sound a bit of a let down, I think I would feel disappointed not to see someone face to face - but as you say it’s definitely a good sign that they don’t have any specific concerns. Thank you for updating! Good you’ve got midwife soon, at least you get to see someone in person. It is a long old haul to the 20wk scan, the temporary relief of 12 week one has definitely worn off a bit now! My 20 wk not til 12th July. Trying to hold off telling dd til after that, which is hard! Seeing midwife for blood test/trisomy screening results on 7th June but I’m hopeful all ok with that because it’s been 2 weeks and I’ve not heard anything.

16 weeks today and i'm pretty sure I felt the baby wiggle a bit this morning. I have my midwife appt tuesday.
