Due November 2021 - thread 2!

Following on from the first thread which is nearly full, here we are with another thread to keep us going through the first trimester and beyond.

Welcome . I'm Alack, currently 8+something with twins, due 2 November but likely to make an early appearance. Also have DD (3).

Currently on the group we mostly seem to be food-averse insomniacs who just want a nap, so here's hoping for some pregnancy glow! And less anxiety as the weeks go on.

@Crazybabylady14 found out last time and definitely finding out this time it helps that we both want to both times

@Crazybabylady14 I will be finding out this time too. I found out with my DD and would have liked to go the other way with this one but my DD is obsessed and I think it’ll help her to bond if she knows it’s a brother or sister. She’s already got names picked out and we only told her on Monday night

@Randomness12 thank you so much for asking. I have to go back for amino in another 10 days 😕as cvs wasn't viable. The scan looked fine, Michal food was under 1.2mm. It's just my blood. So I'm feeling a little more hopeful but just getting through each day.

Does anyone else feel absolutely bloody exhausted? I'm only 14 weeks and getting out of breath going upstairs 😂

A really good scan picture this morning. Let the nun theories comments. I think it's a girl..... we will be finding out when we can @Crazybabylady14. I like to know these things but my husband isn't too fussed.
This is not the first grandchild for either side but We only have boys on my husband side so it'll be nice to have a girl. Happy either way!

@mrssunshinexxx what makes you think girl?! Incidentally the sonographer is quite confident this is a little girl. She looked between the legs and there wasn’t anything to see!

@jorisbonsonstoupe so sorry the CVS didn't work for you, but promising about the scan. Really hoping it is good news for you.

And yes the exhaustion really gets to me too, I think it is slowly improving and thankfully hardly feel sick anymore.

@crazybabylady14 I have already found out from the Nipt. We thought both wanted to know and it made it feel more real, if that makes sense, but I do like idea of a surprise too

Hi Everyone how are you all doing....
Just had the health visitor come over she was asking all sorts of questions like mine and my partners dob if we were working and asked if we were recieving benifits ..I wondered why she wanted all this information as my son is now 15 months and I thought they would have already had this...Recently had a neigbour call social

Thank you all for your replies to my question! It would definitely make it more 'real' knowing if we are having one or the other but then a silly part of me would like for the OH to be the one to have a look and to say 'it's a ...!'

Well we've got a bit longer to decide 😁

Had my 12 week scan today, thought I was 12+3 but actually 13+1. Baby was so awkward, lying on their side facing forward and then upside down 😂

Sonographer had me running around like a mad woman but baby was stubborn! Got everything she needed though which is good.

Everything seems okay but I'm having an extra scan at 17 weeks because of my history so fingers crossed. Pics are not the best because of my BMI and because of the awkwardness (takes after their father already) haha

Saw the consultant and he's happy so far I think, I'm just getting extra care because of everything that happened so thats reassuring. I'm especially pleased about the 17 week scan, not sure I could have waited 7 weeks to know for sure 😔

Hope everyone else is OK, been reading posts and keeping my fingers crossed xx

@Roopers I think girl! But I don't have the best track record with guessing genders hahah

@jorisbonsonstoupe I’m sorry the CVS wasn’t viable, but that is really good news about the NT measurement. Hopefully the amnio will be able to put your mind at rest. The waiting must be really hard, I hope you are being supported.

Its our 12 week scan at 16.30 today and I am a nervous wreck and after two or three light days of sickness, it is back - perfect timing. We still have up to a week left to wait for our Harmony results but I know today they will measure the NT properly and we will finally find out if the lady at the private scan has worried us for two weeks for a reason, or she was just grumpy!

How did you ladies cope with the nerves?

Hey thanks everyone. I'm up and down, preparing myself for the worst. A week to go until amino. Got an appointment with ob today who specialises in Mental health. When I got pg I was on fluoxetine and went cold turkey. I constantly felt like I want to kill someone 🤣and now I just feel like I want to scream at someone 🧐

@happygolucky20 I'm coping by keeping busy and researching obsessively online

@happygolucky20 so sorry it has been so stressful for you - you really think sonographers would be so careful what they say. The waiting for scans and results is really tough. Hopefully you will get your Nipt results back soon and you could see if you can talk to the screening midwife to help with the combined test today.
They tried to discourage me from having the combined test, as I had already given a sample for Nipt. I think because it is more accurate and at my age more likely to get a high chance probability from the combined test. I chose to still have the combined test. When I said that I realised I would get a high chance result and that I understand not to read too much into that, as really not diagnostic (and so many positive stories in the forum). Also I wanted the test just in case there were technical problems with the Nipt and a delay with that.
Not sure this really helps you, but I was definitely very worried as too much googling had not helped, but realising this test causes so much anxiety and often very positive results even when it seems quite possible they wouldn't be helped me. Wish you all the best this afternoon.

@jorisbonsonstoupe good that you are getting more support. I have seen others on this forum saying ARC offers really good support, if you haven't already considered calling them

Totally fell in love with this one at my scan yesterday. So relieved all seems to be ok. Had a very emotional afternoon, feels real now and hasn't up to this point in the same way it did with DS.

Good luck to those scanning today and thinking of those waiting for testing/results with everything crossed.
