Due November 2021 - thread 2!

AlackAlasAlackaday · 25/03/2021 08:15

Following on from the first thread which is nearly full, here we are with another thread to keep us going through the first trimester and beyond.

Welcome Smile. I'm Alack, currently 8+something with twins, due 2 November but likely to make an early appearance. Also have DD (3).

Currently on the group we mostly seem to be food-averse insomniacs who just want a nap, so here's hoping for some pregnancy glow! Grin And less anxiety as the weeks go on.

Good list work @AngeloMysterioso. I’m 6w1 today and time is going s l o w l y. Probably going to have an early scan at 8 weeks, though I’ve had a MMC discovered at 10 weeks so it won’t reassure me much. I’ve also had a MC at 6 weeks so hoping I get to the 8 week milestone! But I also have a 13mo DD, so sometimes these things do work out for me 🥰

I had a pulmonary embolism in my last pregnancy (blood clot in the lung, do not recommend) so this time around I’m on enoxaparin (blood thinner) injections. Very bruised stomach already, no pregnancy photoshoot for me 😂 but if it keeps me and baby safe I’m happy.

I've also tried to join the fb group 😊

AngeloMysterioso · 25/03/2021 21:26

I need to rant.

I spent an hour and a half making a delicious Thai coconut ramen soup this evening. Went and got shiitake mushrooms specially.

But I am SO FUCKING BLOATED that I managed about 10 mouthfuls before I had to give up.

I’m only 4 weeks and 2 days.

DoveGreylove · 25/03/2021 22:10

Hi everyone, joining from the previous thread. I'm 7+3 today and have a scan tomorrow. I dont think I'm as far along as the app says, but hopefully we will get an idea tomorrow if all is well. Wish me luck!

Nausea is intense 24/7. No vomitting but it's constant nausea with food and smell aversions. I even wake up in the middle of the night feeling sick. Have anxiety about going to my appointment tomorrow as I know I'll have to wear a mask whilst I'm waiting which is going to make me feel even worse! Argh!

DoveGreyLove 35, baby #2, due 8/11/21

Bizawit · 25/03/2021 22:24

Hello can I join? I’m 4+4, due #2 28th November, 37.

Moth01 · 26/03/2021 00:50

Hi everyone, congratulations on your pregnancies. I’m struggling and in need of a bit of a hand hold - please be gentle with me! I’m due early November after two mmcs. My last child was born nine years ago in May, and while I would have preferred another spring birth, miscarriages and my age meant we didn’t have the luxury of time to wait any longer to ttc. Now hormones and feeling nauseous all day every day plus my anxiety have whipped up a bit of a storm and I’m struggling to be happy about this pregnancy because I feel terrified of coping with a newborn through deepest winter; I struggle with the cold and often suffer from seasonal affective disorder. Of course I am so grateful to have successfully conceived but I am kicking myself for not thinking more carefully about how difficult I find the winter let alone with a newborn and pnd thrown in! I can’t help but compare with my first child’s newborn stage when it was easier and pleasant to get out and about in the warm weather and I feel sad that my experience with no2 won’t live up to that. Sorry to be a downer, I don’t have a mum or friends to talk to, please can anyone give me any reassurance and positive experiences of having a newborn through winter?!

LikeSomeKindOfMadness · 26/03/2021 07:34

Does anyone else have awful lower back pain some days?

MKe21 · 26/03/2021 08:05

@Moth01 so sorry to hear about your losses xx
My first was born in Spring so have no experience of a winter baby. I'm trying to think of it that in the winter when it's all cosy inside we can have loads of newborn snuggles, then when they are more active it will be warmer weather and they'll get lots out of rolling in the grass and trying to crawl while we have picnics in the sun.

@DoveGreylove sorry to hear you're suffering with the nausea so much. Sounds horrible. Hopefully you'll be seen quickly for your scan so not much time to hang around. Fingers crossed for you tomorrow x

AlackAlasAlackaday · 26/03/2021 08:15

Welcome @Bizawit!

@DoveGreylove I'm so sorry. I'm the same. It's awful. Yesterday I ended up buying four random sandwiches in the supermarket for lunch and just having bites of each Confused. The toddler liked it, anyway.

@AngeloMysterioso gaaah that's frustrating! I've stopped cooking for myself basically, I can't rely on being able to stomach whatever I've made.

@Moth01 congratulations. DD was September born, tbh I really liked that by the time she was weaning and starting to move around we could have lovely outdoor picnics etc. I think being able to stay at home with a tiny baby has its perks, some people find sleep deprivation easier with longer days but tbh I find it easier to drop off again if it's dark and a bit gloomy! I'd get geared up with a high dose vitamin d and a SAD lamp though, if you know your prone to it.

I can't eat either. Nausea has properly kicked in. A friend swears by the compression wrist bands so I've ordered them but a bit worried that someone will spot them instantly at work - I don't want to tell them until I'm close to 12 weeks or if I need time off for a scan.

babynov · 26/03/2021 08:34

Morning all! A night in a&e for me.

Started to have some cramps last night (no blood) which moved to back cramps and became so painful I passed out.

Still not sure what it is but I've been given morphine which helps! Pretty sure it's pregnancy related but I think the baby is OK as I've had no blood or spotting 🤞🏻

Rozed · 26/03/2021 08:35

@DoveGreylove all the best for your scan today, fingers crossed everything is at it should be! 🤞

@Moth01 I'm sorry for your losses.
My son was born in January, I had a cesarean so wasn't really out and about much for the first few weeks apart from check ups. I did suffer with pnd but to be honest, I just went out for walks or a coffee as and when we could (anytime it wasn't raining!). I would time the walks around his nap time. Just wrapped him up and he was absolutely fine and it made me feel good. I often bought myself a magazine and took us off to a coffee shop just to sit and read. I attended some playgroups but found these to be quite cliquey.

Or try and find and add me... Rebecca Salkeld

Needingsupportplease · 26/03/2021 09:14

Hi all can I join please. Baby #2. Had a mc and mmc previously so not getting excited yet. 27, due on November 29th! Umming and aring whether to get an early scan or not as I've had and not had them before and the outcomes still been bad. Had about 20 scans with my daughter (heavy bleeding, position, growth, private) haha. Not ringing the drs yet to register with midwife will probs do this in another 2 weeks. Just scared something bad will happen! No symptoms at all so far..

LikeSomeKindOfMadness · 26/03/2021 09:27

@jennytogether could you add me to the list please? I think I am 9th November. Thank you Smile

DoveGreylove · 26/03/2021 09:33

Thanks all for your messages had my scan and there it was, with a beating heart. So relieved.
Due date is moved 14/11/21 as I predicted I wasn't as far along as the app calculated.

@babynov hope you're ok? Flowers

Can I be added to the list?
