Due November 2021 - thread 2!

Following on from the first thread which is nearly full, here we are with another thread to keep us going through the first trimester and beyond.

Welcome Smile. I'm Alack, currently 8+something with twins, due 2 November but likely to make an early appearance. Also have DD (3).

Currently on the group we mostly seem to be food-averse insomniacs who just want a nap, so here's hoping for some pregnancy glow! Grin And less anxiety as the weeks go on.

@ShutUpAlex what a relief that you’re finally being booked in. Might have been helpful that the incompetent MW is on leave so you can actually get sorted.

pineapple2021 · 23/04/2021 16:16

Anyone else feeling the anxiety? I've still got 3.5 weeks until 12 week scan.... had an early scan privately at 6+4 but just so worried I'll turn up and heart won't be beating anymore!

ELMcg · 23/04/2021 16:35

@pineapple2021 I think it's totally natural. I feel like that at times especially after a loss last year, but I keep telling myself there is no reason to suspect anything is wrong so just continue doing what I am doing until my scan. I'm on extra folic acid as a precaution which has made me feel good that my midwife is so proactive.

Speaking of that had my booking appointment on Wednesday and got my scan letter today, super speedy!

Needingsupportplease · 23/04/2021 16:40

Was meant to have my booking app today or yesterday but never recieved the phone call. Will be 9 weeks on Monday so will be chasing that up on Monday morning as its only over the phone. She said she would then sort bloods out at a later date but they have to be done before 10 weeks dont they? (For iron levels, sickle cell, hiv stuff like that not nuchal testing) so who knows. Also had my risk assessment I've got to stay at work but wear a mask and try keep 2m between me and everyone which isn't really possible but what can I do. Feeling abit crap atm!

monnis · 23/04/2021 17:50

Me! @pineapple2021 had a freak out today and booked myself in for another scan. Luckily they could fit me in, all was ok! Finding impossible to stop stressing that something bad might have happened. X

Randomness12 · 24/04/2021 01:49

I’ve booked myself an early scan for Sunday morning when I will hopefully be 10+4. It’s nearly 2am and I’m awake stressing about it, what if it’s all in my head? What if there is no heartbeat etc.

I’ve had a missed miscarriage before so not helped by the fact I’ve had that bad news scan at 10 weeks previously, but I went on to have my DD afterwards. I had a little bleeding on and off with my first at 6/7 weeks but still had symptoms then had a bigger bleed at 10 weeks which is when they scanned and found that baby had sadly stopped growing at about 6 weeks.

I’m so, so nervous Sad

Hannahb26 · 24/04/2021 06:47

So I had my 12 week scan yesterday and met this little bean! ❤️ so strange to think there's actually something in there - I was so convinced I'd had a MMC that I spent all of last night crying partly with relief and partly in shock! Did anyone else feel the same?

She said she would then sort bloods out at a later date but they have to be done before 10 weeks dont they?

I'm not sure it's 10 weeks, I thought 12/14? Hopefully someone better plugged in to all this will come along in a sec Smile.

Lovely pic @Hannahb26!

@Randomness12 I ended up going for two early scans, the second a week before my NHS one. I don't regret it, I could feel the anxiety levels roaring up, like @pineapple2021.

@Hannahb26 congratulations! I remember being so utterly relieved at my 12 week scan in my first pregnancy, knowing everything seemed okay. It’s a good feeling!

I’ve had my booking-in app (over the phone). But no bloods until next week (hopefully - they still have to get in touch) so will likely be 11 weeks by the time they are done. And no scan until 13+1.

Randomness12 · 24/04/2021 08:02

Ahh congratulations @Hannahb26! Such lovely news and a fab picture too!

Kitttycatt · 24/04/2021 08:27

I'm just curious to know when people had/have their "12 week" scan appointment. I'll be 12 weeks on Monday and I haven't got a date yet. My midwife did say my hospital is really busy. I know you can have them up to 14 weeks so I'm glad I went for a private scan at 10 weeks.

@Hannahb26 that's a great picture, congratulations you must be over the moon!

Randomness12 · 24/04/2021 12:00

I’ll be 12+5 for mine and have an early private one booked on Sunday as it feels like a lifetime!

Jessi68 · 24/04/2021 12:10

I'm only just getting my booking appointment at 12 weeks, so not expecting the scan until very late Sad

Needingsupportplease · 24/04/2021 14:52

Thanks @alackalasalackaday just googled and it said you should have booking before 10 weeks as certain tests need to be done 🤷🏼‍♀️ I'll just ring next week to double check but its obviously not that important. Lovely picture @Hannahb26 congratulations! Will see when I get my scan date.. may or may not sneak another private scan in depending how long i have to wait as I had a healthy scan last time at 9 weeks but by my '12 week scan' at 14 weeks baby had died. So sure my anxiety will be all over!

vixey · 24/04/2021 18:16

@hannahb26
I have my scan on Friday, I'll hr 12+4,
I'm so nervous and so convinced I've had a mmc that I know I'll be exactly the same lol.
congratulations!!!

Kitttycatt · 25/04/2021 11:54

@Jessi68 how comes your booking appointment is so late do they do the scan and that in one? I had to chase to get my booking appointment and will have to do same thing for scan!

@vixey good luck for Friday we have the same due date!

Jessi68 · 25/04/2021 15:16

@kitttycatt no scan or tests at my booking appointment, it's over the phone! It's so late because they have a shortage of midwives apparently - I might have to book a private scan, otherwise I will go out of my mind by the time the NHS can see me!

Randomness12 · 25/04/2021 15:58

I had my private scan this morning, all good and such a huge relief!! Very active baby and measuring 10+1 instead of 10+4 which happened with my first too as I have long cycles. Can’t believe it was really in there!

happygolucky20 · 25/04/2021 16:03

@Randomness12 so pleased for you!! It’s such a relief isn’t it! Xx

FlipperyGibbet · 25/04/2021 18:07

Hi All,
Latecomer here, have been catching up on the thread over the weekend. Please can I join with an EDD of 2nd December? I know there's a December thread but have flicked through it and strangely feel more attached to all you lovely ladies on this thread!

FlipperyGibbet, 29, due 2/12/21

We've had a rollercoaster of a ride so far, TTC for first baby for 7 months and had no idea I was pregnant. Only took a test on 1st April as I'd had 4 positive OPK results in a row! Heavy bleeding started an hour after the BFP and the GP confirmed over the phone that we were losing the pregnancy. Tested a week later with very strong positives. Long story short after blood tests and a private scan we saw our little pea at 6+5! I hope that provides some hope to those of you who are experiencing spotting or bleeding Flowers

AlackAlasAlackaday · 25/04/2021 18:50

@Randomness12 wonderful news!

@FlipperyGibbet you’re very welcome! What a scary start you’ve had.

Hi everyone,
Haven't posted on this thread for a while lovely to see some are having scans and appointments, sorry to see others having issues.
I have my 12 week scan next week. I will be 11plus 4. I had quite a thorough private scan last week as prior to a blood sample being taken for an NIPT genetics test. It was lovely to get reassurance, but I'm so anxious about the genetics test as in my mid forties and am a worrier. Won't get results until sometime the week after next, and already feel like I'm counting down the minutes. Also need to decide if I have the combined test included in my scan next week. As I have had the genetics test the midwife said the less nhs test may just make me anxious, my age will likely make it a high probability. But the sonographer at the private scan suggested I should do the combined test too (there is a small risk the genetic test can't give a result for technical reasons)

@flipperyGibbet welcome and sorry you have had such a worrying start

All the best to those having scans and booking appointments soon. I guess we are all started out from various different places on a journey of waiting, worrying and hopefully some positive times ahead.

vixey · 26/04/2021 13:03

I've started getting panic attack style symptoms for no apparent reason. I've had panic attacks before, but usually with a trigger such as an enclosed space. The past few weeks its either in supermarkets or after eating. I'm 12 weeks today, is this happening to anyone else? xxx

ELMcg · 26/04/2021 15:51

Are there any Scottish ladies on here? I can't get in to my maternity notes app today, anyone else having issues? Keeps just saying there is an error. Not sure if you use the same app in England but the website isn't working either and I wanted to see my booking bloods results! 😭

Jessi68 · 26/04/2021 16:40

@ELMcg we use it where I am and I haven't been able to get on the app or website all day! Happened the other day as well! I think it might be a bit rubbish... Hmm
