Due November 2021 - thread 2!

Following on from the first thread which is nearly full, here we are with another thread to keep us going through the first trimester and beyond.

Welcome Smile. I'm Alack, currently 8+something with twins, due 2 November but likely to make an early appearance. Also have DD (3).

Currently on the group we mostly seem to be food-averse insomniacs who just want a nap, so here's hoping for some pregnancy glow! Grin And less anxiety as the weeks go on.

@AlackAlasAlackaday

randomness it’s called The Tea Room and has a pic of a small white dog on a sofa - long story 😁 Let me know if you can’t find it and I’ll try fish around for a link.
I've requested to join! I hope it's the right group !
Randomness12 · 19/04/2021 16:38

@babynov I am really sorry for your loss. I hope you have lots of support. I haven’t personally had experience of this, but a friend of mine did and has since has 3 children with no complications. Please try to remember that people generally only post the negative experiences online so it skews the reality. I wish you the best of luck Flowers

Needingsupportplease · 19/04/2021 16:57

So sorry for your loss @babynov after my mmc they told me there was no reason we couldn't try straight away but they advise waiting only for dating reasons (providing they scan you afterwards and see all the pregnancy has been removed) take care of yourself xx

Had my scan all good. Looks like it started as twins but now there's only one. Abit sad but just overwhelmed and happy there's one healthy baby atm which will do for me!

Dominican20 · 19/04/2021 16:58

Hi, hope everyone is ok. Has anyone else not heard from a midwife? I am 10 weeks today and have been told that I won’t be contacted for a booking appointment/scan until 11 weeks, is this normal? It’s my first baby so don’t know what to expect! 😃

DoveGreylove · 19/04/2021 17:16

Very sorry for your loss @babynov Flowers

DizSquiz · 19/04/2021 17:19

@Dominican20 hey. I ended up having to chase my referral as I hadn't heard anything and booking appointment should be around 10 weeks I believe. Might be worth chasing them! Scan should be around 12 weeks

AlackAlasAlackaday · 19/04/2021 17:22

Sending love babynov.

dom anecdotally I hear a lot of people having to chase. Worth giving them a ring in case there’s a letter lost in the post or something.

@babynov I was worried about the same. My gynae reassured me it is a straightforward op where they just use a device to clean out anything that has not passed naturally. She said with any given op there is always a very very rare chance of side effects/complications so, they always have to make you mindful of them. However, complications are not common (she said) and if they do come across any issues during the procedure, they normally fix it there and then (so there is no waiting around). For peace of mind, it may be worth getting a follow up scan after your op to see everything is fine. All the best, thinking of you xx

Maya000 · 19/04/2021 17:28

@Dominican20 During my first pregnancy, I had all my appts/scans on time whereas this time round I have been chasing them forever. I was expecting to have a separate dating scan and screening/nipt scan but, because they have left it so late and apparently they are very busy with limited appts. I have been transferred to another hospital and I will have to have a combined scan in 3 weeks time. It may be worth giving them a call to find out what is going on xx

pineapple2021 · 19/04/2021 17:56

Classic..... first day of no nausea in two weeks and I'm now concerned about why that is. No pleasing us pregnant people eh!!

monnis · 19/04/2021 18:05

@babynov so sorry to hear this and sending you lots of love. I had an erpc after mmc last October, the care I received was really outstanding. The procedure was quick and she scanned me after, and went back in to get the rest out. There was very little pain. There was a nurse holding my hand the whole time, you'll be in good hands xxxxx give yourself time to process and look after yourself. So many friends and colleagues opened up to me about their experience of miscarriage, keep talking, you'll come out the other end and I wish you a successful pregnancy in future xxx

ELMcg · 19/04/2021 18:39

@babynov so sorry to hear this and sending lots of love. As a positive story I guess I am living proof of exactly what you are asking! I had a MMC at 13 weeks in December. I had a failed medical management (personally I would now avoid, it was horrendous!) and then a successful surgical management the next day. They told me to wait for a period before trying again to help with dating and I got pregnant on my second cycle after my MC and am 8 weeks today with hopefully a healthy baby! So only advice I can give is take time for yourself to reset and only try if you feel ready. ❤️

Girlmama3 · 19/04/2021 21:25

@babynov I'm so so sorry to hear you lost the baby. Thinking of you and hoping everything goes well and that you're joining another group here soon 💐 xx

vixey · 19/04/2021 23:29

I am so sorry for your loss @babynov , im thinking of you.

has anyone else noticed they have a really heightened sense of smell. I can smell burning when there is nothing at all burning. xxx

TTCBaby1 · 20/04/2021 07:30

After a missed miscarriage in November and chemical in January, we were blessed to fall pregnant the following month and yesterday found out we have been blessed with identical twins ❤️❤️

Giving hope to anyone out there who needs it, we thank our lucky stars

@TTCBaby1 omg congratulations!!!!!! A double rainbow!!!!

pineapple2021 · 20/04/2021 09:23

@TTCBaby1 wow!! That's great news!!

Just hit 8 weeks..... anyone's nausea totally gone?!

happygolucky20 · 20/04/2021 09:49

@pineapple2021- I have good days where it is slightly better, Sunday for example was a good day and then 7pm hit and bam the sickness was back! Yesterday was ok again until the evening but it was with me all night and is still here today. Think it just comes and goes.

babynov · 20/04/2021 10:34

@ELMcg @monnis sorry to hijack the thread a bit, but did your body return to normal?

My boobs are still huge and I have a small bump. I want them to go away ASAP to be honest.

Thank you everyone for kind words and hopefully I won't be far behind you!

happygolucky20 · 20/04/2021 11:10

@babynov so sorry to hear about your loss. We experienced one in June and it completely knocked me for 6, I hadn't even considered it a possibility. My body returned within a week or two, the boobs went first (I am an a cup usually so they deflated very quickly) the bump took a little while longer but max two weeks (it was my second pregnancy so my bump showed super early).

Maya000 · 20/04/2021 11:12

@babynov I think it depends how far along you were. At 13 weeks it took me about 2-3 months following erpc before I felt normal again. (But, I did have to wait 2 months after the mc before I had the surgical treatment so, I don't know if that made a difference). Apparently it takes your uterus about 6 weeks to return to its normal size. Hope you are getting on okay xx

ELMcg · 20/04/2021 11:59

@babynov I was 13 weeks when I got surgical management and had it the week before Christmas. By the time I went back to work in January my bleeding had stopped and my body was back to normal. I had my first period about 5 weeks after surgical management. Once that was out of the way I felt more normal but my hormones didn't feel out of whack for a good few months, hormonal headaches, weird twinges etc. From the ladies below it sounds like everyone is different!

Dominican20 · 20/04/2021 15:06

@AlackAlasAlackaday@DizSquiz@Maya000
Thanks all for your replies. I chased today and they said I probably won’t hear anything until 11 weeks- I think they are really busy up here so will try again next week if I’ve not heard x

LolaX94 · 20/04/2021 16:04

LolaX94 - 26 - due 11/12/21

monnis · 20/04/2021 17:27

@babynov I bled lightly for about a week after. Took two weeks off work to recover and I felt ready to go back after that. Had a period about a month or so later. My boobs stopped hurting and nausea disappeared in the week leading up to my erpc. Physically I felt back to normal after about a month. That was back in October so took us another 4 months to catch again. Wishing you all the best xxx
